The name of this place made me try it out .. cute little place family owned !!..the food was amazing, friendly staff .. they make their own desserts.. Tom kha soup was delicious.. for me i would have liked more vegetables in it like carrots , onions

1 month ago Deidre Akaloodescribed this experience as follows:

My husband and I tried the Green Basil for a quiet dinner without the kids. The food was delicious, we had the green mango salad, a spicy chicken dish and a steak dish. The portions were appropriately sized, the prices are reasonable, and the food was authentic and delicious. We sat outside, I was a hot, but pleasant evening. An outdoor cooling system (maybe a misting system) could be great for your business in the summer months. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and experience at the Green Basil.

Authentic atmosphere. Delicious food, Tom Yum super tasty, definitely recommend! Cheap cocktails Friendly staff

1 year ago Josh Judgedescribed this experience as follows:

Not a bad spot. Combo rice at 4 was great. Anything higher and you prob wouldn't be able to eat it. Crying Tiger was a good meal also, good char on the steak. The wings for the appetizer was a miss, it was way to dry and no flavor. But other people at the table had it and there's was much better. Place is very quiet, only issue, we were seated near the back and the noise from the kitchen broke the peaceful vibe the restaurant offers. Really digging the artwork and the theme. Family friendly, yes, but know there is not much of a kids menu. So keep that in mind.

Went with my team over lunch. We were slightly over 10 people and the service was spot on. The flavors are delish. Prices very reasonable Every order, every dish came out perfect and we all enjoyed it very much. I could eat here multiple times a week. Check out the variety! Highly recommend.

My family love Sushi Kushi! We have yet to find another place with good sushi. We always get their rolls, our favorite being the Godzilla roll. This time around we got the mango tango and tako monster roll. The tako roll was good with the octopus on top. The mango tango was nicely sweet and tangy. I like how it came with a side of sweet potato fries. Both were pretty good but didn’t compare to the Godzilla. My brother got the best combination ramen and it was pretty bland. The meat wasn’t very good. We always get a big plate of chicken fried rice and while it’s not my favorite, my brothers love it.

2 weeks ago Jacob alejandro Cuéllar Gutiérrezwrote only this about this place:

This place is a hidden gem! The prices are very reasonable, and the food is authentic Japanese cuisine that tastes absolutely amazing. Insanely delicious! The Raging Bull Roll and Blackhawk Roll are a must-try. The fried rice comes in such a huge portion that two people can share it and still have leftovers. The lunch specials are generous in size and full of flavor—I highly recommend the bento box. Honestly, this is one of the best and cleanest Japanese restaurants in Chicago. They also have a wide variety of bubble tea, and the freshly squeezed lemonade is so good that my dad always ends up drinking two glasses. Perfect spot to enjoy dinner with parents or family

4 months ago Caroline Cwhat can I say about this place?

The service was terrible. Too much sauce and unnecessary toppings on their specialty rolls and spicy tuna hand rolls. Miso soup was good though. The drink options were subpar but if you like fruity and sweet cocktails then you'll like their drink that comes in a palm tree cup. I don’t normally like sweet drinks but they couldn't make the drink that I asked for.

1 week ago Anne Tayloar- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

purchased Sushi from here through the app Too Good To Go and got 4 of the BEST sushi rolls I’ve ever had. They were fresh, delicious, and each unique. I’ll be coming back and paying full price for these again!! (Although they do get high praise for being a restaurant that doesn’t make food waste)!! When I went and picked it up, the atmosphere was fun and inviting. Staff was attentive, helpful, and kind. Will be back.

Very good experience. Our first time there bowling, and my teenage son loved environment, the music, the food and even the TV programs. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

3 months ago Dustin Lewis: it is necessary to add to this place:

Here on vacation from out of state and brought the wife and kids bowling on a Friday night. Price per person for 4 hours of unlimited bowling was reasonable, however, if you have bowling shoes bring them as they're like $6 per pair to rent. Lanes seemed to be well maintained. I was able to smash out a few 200+ games during my stay. Food was decent and the kids had a blast with the pool tables and arcade.

3 months ago Unique Gulleysaid the following about this gem:

Super clean and spacious place. The food was great for bar food and the staff is nice. We went on a Tuesday and it happened to be $13 for unlimited games in the arcade. My kids had a blast. Would recommend.

Fantastic Veg Indian Food – A Must Try! Had an excellent meal here for the second time this week! The Bullet Naan and Paneer Bhurji were a fantastic combo – full of flavor and perfectly spiced. The salad and veg fried rice were also really tasty. My family and friends loved it. Great place for authentic vegetarian Indian food. Highly recommended!

5 months ago Margowrote only this for this place:

Absolutely delicious well spiced meals. Had a fabulous lunch with attentive friendly service. Nicely decorated atmosphere. Our naan order was plentiful with big pieces enough for 2 of us to take home. It was warm and delicious. Shrimp vindaloo was great and well spiced. Ordered a fried rice dish which was a huge portion on a big plate. The vegetarian thali was wonderful. Small stuffed bowls of various warm vegetarian vegetables and lentils and paneer in various sauces and spices and a bowl of cool yogurt blended with mint. Each was unique and delicious. Came with a large dish of tasty rice. Ate all of this with naan. A delicious dough ball in sauce was included for dessert All enough to take home. Loved the service. Will return!!!

We had such a wonderful dinner at Aroma Indian Cuisine! The owner personally greeted us, helped us choose our meal, and explained the dishes with such care. The food was absolutely delicious—flavorful, fresh, and perfectly prepared. The service was warm and attentive, making us feel truly welcome. The restaurant itself was very clean and inviting, creating a comfortable dining atmosphere. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic Indian food and outstanding service. We will definitely be coming back!

To be completely honest, this restaurant is AMAZING!!! I’m usually never inclined to write reviews, however the food is top-notch authentic Indian cuisine and everything always tastes so perfectly spiced and delicious. It’s is a wonderful treat for the palate! The ambiance is very warm and inviting, but most importantly, the service is IMPECCABLE! We had the absolute pleasure of meeting the owner who so graciously provided us with a wonderful surprise of a delicious side dish of rice to help compliment our meal! Very gracious and generous man to meet! He is one of the many independent business owners who is definitely making America great again!! We HIGHLY recommend this lovely restaurant to everyone!!! Affordable prices and excellent experience for either a lunch or dinner or maybe even both!!!!

Madras Kafe
Numerically, he has the 8.6/10!. This place was visited and rated 1332-times

What our travelers says:

1 month ago Nuhn ya Biz: it is necessary to add to this place:

I recently visited Madras Kafe in Vernon Hills for lunch and opted for both their vegetarian and non-vegetarian thali offerings. Each thali was generously portioned, providing a delightful array of flavors that truly captured the essence of South Indian cuisine. The variety and taste of the dishes made for a satisfying and hearty meal. To complement the meal, I ordered their filter coffee, which was aromatic and robust, reminiscent of the traditional brews found in India. However, I believe the experience could be further enhanced if they served the coffee in traditional Indian filter coffee cups, adding an authentic touch to the presentation. Overall, Madras Kafe offers a commendable dining experience with its flavorful dishes and warm ambiance. I look forward to returning and hope to see the addition of traditional coffee cups in the future.

1 week ago Jay Reddywhat can I say about this place?

The food was good, but the service let us down. There was no proper welcoming ,it doesn’t seem like they even care to welcome anyone. He simply took the order and that was it. No greeting, no real interaction. Even though the food was good, this kind of attitude makes us not want to return.

5. place deserves Buffalo Wild Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings
Definitely deserves 7/10!. This place was visited and rated 1429-times

What our travelers says:

1 month ago Alex Walshsaid the following about this gem:

I visited this BWW around 9 PM and the place was fairly empty. Traveling alone, I usually sit at the bar for quicker service, but it took nearly 10 minutes before anyone came by, despite another patron already sitting there. I ordered two drinks and only received one. It was another 10 minutes before the server/shift manager returned to take my food order. During this time, another guest sat down and was served almost immediately. He even ordered his food well after me, yet our meals came out back-to-back. Unfortunately, my wings were only cool/warm, which makes me think they’d been sitting for a while before being brought out. Overall, one of the most disappointing BWW visits I’ve had in a long time — slow service, inconsistent attention, and food that didn’t come out hot.

3 months ago Shannan Braddyexplained best how he liked it:

B DUBS definitely passed the vibe check! Their food was so delicious! The beer was ice cold! The server provided excellent service and never without a smile! Will definitely drop in the next time we are in town!

1 year ago Arnold Grahl- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

Went for an NFL game on Peacock and had crunchy chicken wraps. They were actually good and came with fries. Even though it was busy service was fine, they were attentive and refilled our drinks. Cleaner than last time we went years ago when it smelled of stale beer. The wings are too expensive but we liked our wraps. Still hate their commercials with the stupid mascot.

3 months ago Aaron Harris- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

Food was amazing after a nice confusing hang out with the boys. Great night discussions and amazing water and fries. Service is understandably difficult at midnight but I tried to ask for more water at times because of wings I got, they were slow to provide that. Vibes were almost there on the atmosphere very lowkey and chill just was also weird at night like it was.

3 weeks ago Molly Frostwrote only this for this place:

I've been to Buffalo Wild Wings in Vernon Hills a few times, and while the food is usually good, my visit tonight was the last straw. After a 12-hour workday, I got home to find they gave me beef instead of chicken — I’m highly allergic to beef and haven’t eaten it in 8 years. At 11 PM, I had to drive back just to get the food I originally ordered. The service didn’t help either. Arianna, our server/hostess, was unpleasant start to finish- and when I explained the issue her response was, “I don’t understand the issue.” Really? The manager (heavier-set African American gentleman, no name tag) did apologize, remake my food, and toss in another box of fries, but by then my night was already ruined. I’ll be sticking with the St. Charles location from now on — their staff is attentive, friendly, and my order always comes out right. With so many better dining options in the Vernon Hills area (Yus Mandarin, Tacos El Norte, Wingstop), I won’t be returning to the Vernon Hills B-Dubs.

Esteban up front is as kind as can be and sets the tone for a great meal. We had Roger as our server and he was attentive, kind and really lived up to the hype of “when you’re here you’re family” Loved that he immediately asked if there were any dietary concerns—super important The atmosphere was delightful and the staff are super attentive The place was clean And the food was as you expect for Olive Garden

3 months ago Brandon Zhangwhat can I say about this place?

The breadsticks are the best in any restaurant i have ordered in :). In all of my 9 trips, I had excellent servers with good but not the best delivery of food. Food was amazing. Actually all of their staff are nice. Parking was a bit hard — since there are so many customers. The price is slightly high but very worth it. The atmosphere is relatively quiet even with background music which i think is good ( not best ) My personal favorite food here was the calamari. Hopefully they can expand their menu a bit. Also even though they are respectful, i feel like after we asked for refills for the 4th time they get slightly annoyed. Might be our fault though for asking so much

2 months ago Ana Andaedescribed this experience as follows:

Went out with the family! Great service, our waitress Jenyttzy is a gem! Very charismatic friendly and energetic! Service was good, time passed by quickly with good times here. The Drink in the picture was strawberry lemoncello margarita. Cheers everyone!! 🥂

1 year ago One In A Billionevaluates this place as follows:

Restaurant is pretty clean, but felt very stuffy today, needed a better air circulation, and needs more A/C, especially since it’s 93° today!! The waitress was pretty good at her job, even though tweaked about couple of things. Their new chocolate lasagna cake is super delicious and definitely must to try, even though it’s 3rd time ordering it already and I’m not even a chocolate cake lover! Breadsticks are delicious. Calamari appetizer is surprisingly very good! Not chewy at all and very lightly breaded. Their broccoli cooked perfectly too! Haha it’s the little things that make a great meal! All of the dishes were amazing, but chicken and shrimp carbonara was a pass, because was very heavy for our taste and didn’t know it had bacon! Minestrone soup a little watery for my taste. Garden salad pretty good and their Italian sauce is very good. Salmon was decent! Eggplant Parmesan was delicious and light. Rigatoni is very good and mushroom sauce was absolutely delicious! Cappuccino was okay, and double shot espresso probably a little better, but definitely not the best place for coffee. Overall a great experience, so definitely coming back again!

Service was excellent. Food was fresh and tasted great 👍 Jessy went out of his way and accepted us ( another table) when he was at his high capacity. He was honest and informative with his suggestion, we love the chicken Alfredo and futtecinni with shrimp. He was fast and very welcomed . We believe Olive garden restaurant is fortunate to have such employees who make the lunch trip so pleasant. Wish Jessy the best of luck .

What our travelers says:

1 month ago Kyial Sydykovadescribed this experience as follows:

This location stood out in my opinion with fresh flowers in little budvases on every single table. Food was fresh and strips were crispy. Staff was friendly and polite. The manager was interviewing someone for a job position right behind us, and I was impressed how friendly he was, making sure the interviewed person feels comfortable. Very professional and very impressive. Rarely do I see manager's interviewing people like that.

1 month ago Patrick Nawrockiwrote only this for this place:

I ordered the new pretzel sandwich. I did not get any bacon on it. I also did not get the Dijon mustard that was included with the sandwich. I did not pay extra for the bare minimum. I also ordered a regular spicy chicken sandwich and I did not have any pickles on it when I confronted the coworker. He said he can just give me the pickles on the side. It is overly packed in there. You will be waiting a long time for your order, not worth the experience.

5 months ago Ananth Srinivasanexplained best how he liked it:

This place is godsent. The employees know us by name, and they bring our food before we can even sit down. The sandwich is heavenly, and they never fail to make it right. The employees are some of the kindest and most accommodating people I have ever met. Throughout the years of coming here, I have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the breakfast drive-thru, they even go out of their way to give my dog a whipped cream pup cup, which he loves. I cannot believe there is a restaurant on this planet with the level of perfection that this Chick-fil-A has achieved.

1 month ago Marwan Fathallahsaid the following about this gem:

Was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the dinning area. Food leftover on the floor, tables not clean floor filthy. Gave constructive feedback to manager on duty, expressed my disgust and having to clean my self to feel sanitary to sit. Bench for sitting at table has stains milk dry on the side dripping (not just one bench). They need a deep clean. Very disgusting and disappointing as I know they want to show a premium product and atmosphere and it is ruined.

What our travelers says:

2 months ago water828- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

The preparation was entertaining. The fried rice was delicious. My main meal, steak, was just okay. I tried the scallops, and they were soft. I always had in the past, and they were hard. Some people, in our 24 people party, got sick and weren't impressed by the food.

4 months ago Mo Wagdywrote only this for this place:

I can not stress enough that Tsukasa of Tokyo in Vernon Hills is the BEST Hibatchi restaurant around. This cuisine used to be a huge hit in the 80’s and into the 90’s, and there were plenty of top restaurant to go around. But Hibatchi popularity has unfortunately dwindled over the decades as it’s too elaborate and costly for the masses. Alas, most resultants are mere remnants of what they used to be - the interiors are run down, the chefs are indifferent and the food is usually terrible. NOT TSUKASA! They are the only place in the Chicago area that I’m aware of that has the customer base and turnover to keep the food FRESH and the menu TASTY. We even have a “go-to” chef, (old) Max who is a phenomenal chef, has a great personality and talks a variety of subjects from sports, to nostalgia, to Chicago landmarks. He always remembers us and is great to grandma and the kids. We always get there early on the weekends as the place gets PACKED!! Hibatchi can be pricey, but in this case, it’s worth every penny. Great for the whole family and I highly recommend! I know so many kids that hate going to restaurants, but the ones we take for my own kids’ birthdays LOVE this joint. Enjoy!

Had an amazing experience, from the service to the food quality all top notch. Our server who’s also the bartender treated us to some green tea shots on the house after our meal which were delicious. Also, highly recommend the pink martini drink. Very exited to be back.

I took my grandma to Tsukasa of Tokyo for a nice dinner to celebrate our birthdays. It was a great experience! The chef showcased his incredible skills with flair, turning the cooking process into a captivating performance. The atmosphere was lively and fun, making it an excellent place for the birthday celebration. The staff was attentive and friendly, checking up on us often. The food was incredible! I got the sesame scallops, and added a side of the golden sauce(which I HIGHLY recommend), and my grandma got the steak (she asked for rare), which she said was cooked perfectly/exactly to her liking.

2 months ago Artemevaluates this place as follows:

This is a great place with a great selection of food, but there was one little problem - I DON’T LIKE JAPANESE FOOD, and you’re gonna ask me - “What are you doing in a Japanese restaurant if you don’t like Japanese food?”. Well that’s a good question and here’s the answer - I went there with my friend so yeah… Also don’t blame me for the bad food review, I just don’t like Japanese food. Everything else was pretty good.

This place really shit the bed when they went public. It used to be a great place to get quality Italian food quickly. Alfredo sauce is thin and flavorless. Chicken used to be char grilled and marinated, now it tastes like airplane food. They forgot the hot peppers on my beef and I asked for some at the counter, told me next time I'd have to pay for them. Quality control is dead. They're pinching pennies and it shows.

2 weeks ago Caroline C- why does he think this place is on the list?

Always consistently good food but always busy. Hot dog with everything. Hamburger. Chopped salad. Fries. Consistently good coke. Spaghetti, chili cheese dog, and chicken tenders are always yummy options. They can improve in the online pick up orders b/c it's very inconsistent and not always on time.

3 months ago Andrea Kennedysaid the following about this gem:

This chain of hot dog and hamburger restaurants is a Chicago style classic. If you are visiting from outside the Chicagoland area, I recommend coming to see what the hype is all about. Most of the Portillo’s are attached to the pasta chain Barnellis. Portillos menu is Italian beefs, hot dogs, burgers, fries, etc. Try the chocolate cake or the shake. They are decorated as different decades. This one is the 20s-30s. They have an antique car hanging from the ceiling! There is plenty of seating for large groups. The drive thru gets backed up during the lunch/dinner rush. 4 stars because I think the quality of the food has gone down since the original owner sold.
