9. place is occupied by Beethoven’s Grave

Beethoven’s Grave
We rate 9.4/10!. This place was visited and rated 612-times

What our travelers says:

1 year ago Nate Wetswagars: it is necessary to add to this place:

While our visit was primarily because of Beethoven, Strauss family, Schubert and Brahms, I'd encourage everyone who loves history, art, music, to take a look at many other gravestones, some of them are just like museum artefacts. Just like there are history museums, or contemporary art museums, the graves look so different. My daughter was especially drawn to the modern art examples at the 32C cluster, with Hedy Lamarr's and Udo Jürgens graves among others. But if you find walking in cemeteries creepy per defolt, don't go. My husband just spent all that time sitting on a bench and waiting for us. :)

2 years ago Robert Badeadescribed this experience as follows:

Interesting place, but even if I'm going to gather some hate from locals, I can't help myself to comment a strange fact related to eternity and modesty. Thus, while Beethoven and Mozart were only Beethoven and Mozart, most of the funeral stones are here decorated with all kind of titles (princess, dr., magistrate, diplomat engineer, etc), which, of course, values less than nothing, related to foreverness... It crossed my mind that it might be related to Western habits to value the academic titles more than in my own country. Nevertheless, the eternity couldn't care less lol. Otherwise, we arrived here in the morning of Rammstein's concert, and the place was crowded by old rockers (as myself), and the sky was dark and gloomy, quite cold for a summer day, mysterious black birds waiting impassive for the next customers... A couple of hours, which I'm going to remember for a long time.

2 years ago burcu otluexplained best how he liked it:

Its easy to go Beethoven's grave with one transfer from the city centre .You can visit also the other masters of classical music such as Schubert , Brahms , Strauss tombs and Mozart 's memorial tomb just beside it together .Very mystic and peaceful aura in there .

3 years ago Job Van Goghhow did he rate it?

Good way to spend a few hours, the cemetery has a lot of famous people besides Beethoven. Schubert and the Strauss's are also there as is Falco, Udo Jürgens and many more. Easy to get to by public transport, tram 71

2 years ago lyk azawhat can I say about this place?

Located at Wiener Zentralfriedhof (Vienna central cemetery). Not the usual touristy areas that you visit when you're in Vienna, but the locals suggest it. The cemetery is so large that it is like a small city in itself. The tram takes you directly to a number of its entrance gates. Beethoven's grave is also beside Schubert's and Strauss' which you might also want to pay a visit.

8. place gets Botanical Garden

Wow to the botanical garden of Schönbrunn. It was wonderful. All amazing plants in one place where you can wonder, smell and breath. And it was delightful to see student drawing all those amazing flowers. Its just so funny that you can poke to see their works and on-going process. And they are all so kind.

2 years ago Irena Dimitrijevicwrote only this for this place:

Very beautiful, colorful and calm place. You can buy both tickets for zoo and this place and use it partial, by the time. Ticket is valid 1 year.

1 year ago Yuri Gexplained best how he liked it:

It is a shame that they divided one garden in two museums to extract more money from visitors. After seeing a wonderful collection of wet and hot plants you will be shocked to discover that you have to buy another full price ticket to see dry soil desert plants. The cashier would not allow us to trade our tickets for a joint ticket. Yet no one bothered to explain to us that in advance. To see the entire collection you need to pay twice! Yuck!

7 years ago Natalia Khilkevitchhow did he rate it?

You can take your dog and enjoy the open space that's designated for dogs. Here you can also park your car for free. There is a great circle pathing that allowed you to make a complete round around the park. I wouldn't take children to play there though as there are usually plenty of dogs running free.

4 years ago Dragan Nikolicwhat can I say about this place?

Great park, great scenery.. the only thing to keep in mind is that it's dog friendly and people are a bit too relaxed with their dogs let loose. There's also a large area inside the park with 2 lakes where dogs are not allowed. You may see deer sometimes drinking water.

After exploring the Jewish Quarter, we strolled to this massive park. There are paths with views and lots of green space where we saw people sunbathing and picnicking. Inside the park is a World War II tower, an old palace, a museum, a pool, and a large playground. My six-year-old daughter loved the fenced-in playground. It comes with monkey bars, a fun swing, and two sandpits.

A must - see if you're visiting Vienna city. Great art, especially the medieval. Wasn't a big fan of the contemporary. Nice cafés too.. you can spend a couple of good hours there. August and September are best time to visit.

1 year ago Itamar Naim- why does he think this place is on the list?

An amazing area in the city of Vienna! In this place you can find many different kinds of museums to go to at decent prices. The outside area between the museums is also very beautiful and it is nice just to walk around. There are a lot of Cafe places that you can sit at and chill and also free sitting areas which are really cool and stylish ;) On a sunny day you can go there with your laptop / book and spend your day in the fresh air instead of in an office.

2 years ago Valentin Toia: it is necessary to add to this place:

A cool place with a lot to offer - art, of course, in its museums and galleries, but also various places to chill in its inner courtyards, during the day or evening. Drinks, food, networking.

1 year ago Janhavi Dhuldhoyawrote only this for this place:

It's an art gallery of sorts. There are 3 levels. I liked the 1 st floor. 2 nd floor had more abstract art. Since I was there had to finish all 3 levels. It's good but art isn't my thing. One can surely visit if interested in art

Didn't go inside due to a tight schedule but the external architecture of this building is simply majestic and beautiful. Nevertheless, I was contented to be able to witness this marvel from the outside. There are also many beautiful buildings and churches at walking distance from Hofburg. Spend a day here walking around and you will not regret it

1 year ago Up Urs- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

I cannot say anything that has not been said already about this amazing building. I was to impressed with architecture of the outside of this building that I did not take the time to go inside. It is not possible to capture what your eyes can see in a single picture. It is absolutely stunning. This is an absolute must to see and to get the full experience the Hoftburg has to offer you need two days to enjoy it all.

1 year ago Chandra Kanth Reddywhat can I say about this place?

I didn't go inside, but the building's design and the view are really impressive and enjoyable, even from the outside. The architecture catches your eye, and you can still appreciate its beauty without entering.

1 year ago Egle D.- why does he think this place is on the list?

Some unique installations, and because we visited in the morning, it felt that time stopped here a while ago. Some rides were closed, either not opened yet, or closed permanently, others did look like they survived Chernobil blast. Cool place with a character and has little christmas market in winter.

1 year ago Daniel Aguiar Pomar- why does he think this place is on the list?

Had a very unique experience in this old-style amusement park. It was a very interesting place that I highly recommend for both visitors and locals!
