By far the worst cooking we have had in a long time. The enclosed tasted like I had ordered some sweet and sour dish at the cheapest chinese restaurant in slovakia. Perhaps kitchen staff have changed due to covid?

The best halušky ever! I tried halušky in many restaurants, but those are beating all places by quality and amount, generous portions indeed. Place also has really nice vibe, we really enjoyed our lunch there.

We came to this restaurant because of its rating- 5/5 and I can say, that our experience was really mind blowing. The service was extremely nice, there was no waiting time, the waitress treated us very professionally and made us feeling like at home. (She was super nice;)) Overall design of the place feels cozy and very positive. The food was superb as well - we had garlic and cabbage soup, both were very good. For the main dish, I had a pork neck with cabbage and my gf had Hungarian goulash. Probably one of the best pork I have ever had in my life. I would give this place 6 stars if I could. I would like to thank the owners and the stuff of this place again, and I wish them all the best for the future.

05/06/2022, roughly 7PM: our desk was full with ants 🐜, the crew ladies didn’t wanted to understood what we wanted to order in English. When we fingerpointed to anything in the menu, they said they don’t have it, especially the beers. Finally we ordered non alcoholic, but when I went to pay at the bar counter, I’ve seen the fridges are fully loaded with beers… strictly forget to go to this place!

Very pleasant experience. The food was delicious (mine burger was a little colder but the other one was great). The fries (with smoked paprika) were crispy and the garlic dip we had with it was also pretty good and creamy. Staff was kind and helpful so I can't give nothing less but 5 stars. We had a great time. Thank you.

When I read some of the recent bad reviews from this place, I wonder if these people live in the same world as I do where the biggest pandemic of our time is currently devastating economies globally hitting the restaurant industry especially hard. As far as I'm concerned we ate there yesterday with my wife and two kids super friendly staff and very good burgers. The homemade lemonade and tomato gazpacho were also delicious. A solid 5 stars from us and the wait was perfectly reasonable. We will definitely eat here again when we visit BS once more. To the staff, merci beaucoup from Paris France, you have awesome staff and the service was great! See you soon

Great selection of tasty foods and authentic slovak beer, atmosphere is cozy in the center of town. Recommended.

Their coleslaw is seriously good. Also very good tartar sauce. Great selection of Kaltenecker beer, also on tap. Very disappointing sweet potato fries. They also have a vegetarian gluten-free burger, it was really good. Coburg burger was great but too tall. Good experience overall, but nothing special.

Restaurant review only. The menu is somewhat rudimentary, and the prices a little above average. This is more than offset by the quality of food and very friendly and competent services. The indoor and outdoor play area for children was very welcome as well. An extra star for the homemade tartar sauce, which is to die for.

LOVE IT!!! We were on the terrace and the view from there was just indescribable. Service there was really kind and competent. The food was delicious and nice served. At the end, we payed 93€ for 4 people.

We are not a gourmet specialist, but looking for certain quality of food. Appreciate if it is at nice looking place and location. In this case perhaps the location is not its utmost. However the Food was good, tasty, very good homemade cakes. And on top of that nice staff.

At first I wanted to rate this guest-house lower, since on a first night I could hear neighboring room's residents talking until really late and I could hear breakfast preparations in the morning. Second night was better though. So what I was pleasantly surprised is the kitchen, the meals are large and taste really good. Also the staff is very nice and attentive, even friendly. Main attraction was the view. It was superb to sit down for a drink after hike and have a bear on the terrace, or have a filling breakfast looking at the scenery. Prices are higher, but that applies for many places we visited in BS, which is just flabbergasting.

We ordered two nonalcoholic beers and they bring us alcoholic. When we ask waitress if it’s nonalcoholic she was offensive. Caffe was over-burned. Chicken soap was without salt and pepper. Prices very high, quality very low. Better service is in every village in Slovakia. Sight was beautiful. I would not recommend.

Fine cozy place with great tasting pizza and fair prices. Nice mining themed decorations. One of the server seemed a bit confused, I’d say he was new there.

We waited 1 hour even for dessert. In which was a large piece of wire. It was a very bad experience.

Was in this place and ordered 2 rum and cokes they were flat. Ordered a mojito flat (she used flat water) and was disgusting. And ordered 2 pizzas and one come as it should but the other didn't. So didn't accept the pizzas and or the mojito. Then the waitress started giving an attitude because she can't take an order or make a drink. Would not recommend this place the food and service are horrible.

Best damn pizza I've ever had (even against the Italians). Price is very reasonable, so is the beer.

I had been there before we visited last time and I have a good time there always. The restaurant wasn't busy at all thus the service was super fast and friendly as well. The dishes were delicious and fresh.

Well, it was recommended for us as best place so expectations were high... but I was not satisfied. The beer ? For above average price you will get something I left unfinished on the table while I was looking to drink 2-3. The food? Two of us were satisfied but I was not. I got something which you have in Prague for 1/3 price in cheapest restaurant and taste better there. The staff is good, interiors very nice but if you like to drink beer pick something else.

Great accommodation, very friendly and helpful employees, tasty meals in restaurant part and also parking for its guests ☺️(it's really big problem in Banska Stiavnica). We are here for the second time and certainly not the last time💪🏻

Hi...I can highly recommended this place...we have had recently a celebration of my mother's 85th birthday there and everything was just perfect. The table was nicely set up, the food excellent and stuff friendly and professional...they even prepared vases for flowers and did not bother about my three years old grandson, running around and trying to communicate with them. Despite we were not guests staying for night, they let us park our cars in the yard because of my mum walking problems. We spent a lovely time there and definitely we will come there again.

Seems they dont like foreigners! My drinking glass was chipped at the edges so I asked the waitress for a new one. She took the glas back to the counter and laughed with the other waiters “hahaha he said his glas is broken” while all of them laughed and looked at me. It made me feel very uncomfortable because I could tell they were making fun of me. The food was subpar, served cold . Never again.

Friendly staff, act pro-actively & service minded (which is not typical in Eastern Europe) and the food was really good. Five stars in comparison to other venues visited in Slovakia.

We were there for lunch. Awesome pizza and very tasty cheese pasta. Sometimes in winter season they haven't free seats so you must wait for a while. Personell are very kind.

A good place to dine in with tasty meals and quick helpful service. They welcomed us without a reservation and also with a small dog (in general dogs are rectricted in this place). Meals were tasty and nicely prepared without a long waiting and not overpriced. I recommend this place.

We had such a great dinner here. We didn’t have much expectations regarding the food and we were very pleasantly surprised, everything we ordered was really delicious. The oyster mushroom perkelt was probably our favorite. Service was also very good and fast. The terrace is very nice, not so noisy as around the main street.

Absolutely amazing place. We've been here twice and both visits were stunning! Food was delicious, we had duck with a cabbage and potato pancake "lokše", also potato dumplings filled by bacon and smoked meat with cabbage aside, then Slovakian national dish called "Halušky" with crispy bacon and also sweet potato gnocchi/dumplings "Šulance" with poppy seeds. All of the meals were really good! Also stuff is very nice, quick and polite. Price is accurate, even cheaper than in other restaurants! Worthy to visit.

Really bad experience, my dish was without any flavour, it was not salty, not spicy. Meal tasted watery and oily. Beer again with no flavour. Espresso was sour and watery. Everything was done bad or even worse.

Based on my humble opinion this venue is underated. We went here just because we wanted pizza and rating was high enough, but photos were pretty against to our decision, however we gave it a try and we didn't regret. Very nice interior with warm welcome and nice service. We ordered beer (Krusovice), white wine (dry) and Šupa pizza. I cannot complain to anything. Everything was as we expected and pizza was delicious. Definitely highly recommend and lone of the best restaurant in Banská Štiavnica. Kudos 👌🏻

Pizzas were oven-baked, delicious and well worth their price. Wine was good. No salads, appetisers and desserts though, so nothing more or less than pizzas.

Tasty pizza for a great price (starts at €3.50 for a Margarita). We chose two different halves for no extra cost. Pizzas are baked inside a traditional stone oven and the kitchen is open (seemed very clean). Friendly staff. Recommended!

Really great pizza. It's all about the base. The toppings are generic (although the spicy pizza is very spicy it's almost inedible), when combined with the base and baked to perfection this is when it becomes a great pizza. Worth trying.

My family enjoyed the pizza, but there was milk in the base so I couldn't have any. Milk is not necessary in pizza bases, people. Overall it's a nice restaurant and I'd recommend it for anyone without dietary restrictions that likes pizza. There's also a big kids play area in the back which makes this a very child friendly restaurant.

Menu in Slovakian, English and Hungarian languages. Fast service after ordering. Delicious tastes, prices are on average compared with the near restaurants. The crew forgot to serve a salad, but they discounted the final price after my complaint. I can offer this restaurant to everybody!

Black M is the best place in Banská Štiavnica. Very friendly staff, tasty food and lovely surroundings in historical city centre. We were working in city for live broadcasting of International cycling race and we worked till late night. Owner is very caring and we felt like at home. Thank you! We recommend this tasty place😉

Went there with 4 adults and 5 kids, got out really happy. Friendly staff, really long list but all we tasted were better than we thought. Really good value for money. As a tip try the local rosé.

Let’s face is Banska štavnica is a tourist town and you’re not going to find any gourmet food here. It did not blow my socks off but they made decent pizza so I’d go here again for pizza if I was back in town. One star down for lukewarm soup and not friendly staff.

WOW, such an amazing experience! We were here for a late afternoon cafe and we had to come back in the morning. Very slow and unprofessional service, but perfect café, chocolate and hot drinks. Well, and that croissant with chocolate was perfect decadent breakfast!

Wanderfull I am happy that I finally visited this beautiful cafe. I looked at it for a long time and finally we did an Erasmus project with my friends to Banská Štiavnica and of course we did not miss any stop in Divná pani. I wish I was closer to such a great cafe, really, how beautifully laid out and decorated. There is a very retro style there, which I personally like very much in a cafe. The coffee and chocolate taste so good, I even bought a pack of coffee to take home to enjoy such coffee at home. The service was super.There were a lot of people sitting in the cafe but we expected the good. Just in front of the entrance of the cafe was a shop with various things like souvenirs and pralines. Unfortunately, we looked out the window because they wrote there that you need to report the service. There were many interesting things I could buy there but it would be pointless to seek them out as the staff couldn't keep up. Instead, I'd put an old lady to sit there, and people would definitely get something nice as a keepsake. I think it will work for me next time. Thank you for the excellent coffee.

The location is perfect, so is the choice of drinks and cakes. The service is not at all. Waiting for coffee too long, and did not get what we had ordered...the staff is so disorganized and pitied themselves, which is funny....so, if you wanna take a rest on the patio just sitting and not being noticed of, and watching passers-by, go there...and have coffee at the cafe next door ☺️☺️☺️

From outside this place looks like it's going to be a cosy little place but once inside it feels like you are walking into the carved out side of a mountain.The place is surprisingly big and offer a variety of seating outside and in with several rooms available. One looks like a wine celler while another is well lit and surrounded by books. A soft swing cover of Metallica's Enter Sandman fills the air as the waiter distributes a menu in the form of a tablet replacing the traditional laminated paper. The coffee is good and so is the ice cream although the fruit in the Sunday was a bit disappointing. They have a small play corner for kids which is out of the way enough to avoid disturbing other patrons. The staff is very nice and speak English.

Really cosy place with nice and polite staff, but we were there when it was full and we were told that they only have 5 menus so we needed for that for a longer time (not blaming staff of course, maybe owners should think about that :) ). We had raspberry and their own "divna pani" lemonades which had well balanced tastes and they were delicious. However the food was average ( egg in a glass with toast and mozzarella with avocado dip) and could be better but it was okay to eat.
