⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Trófea Grill Étterem Újbuda was a great experience. I went there with my coworkers, and everyone enjoyed it a lot. The food was really good, the variety was impressive, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. It was the perfect place for a group meal, and everything we tried was delicious. We all left very satisfied.

3 months ago Kamil Oldachsaid the following about this gem:

Great Selection of all types of food. Even frog legs are available. Sushi & see food. Steaks from grill. Hungarian kitchen. Fresh Juice. Free drinks. Free alcohol. A bit to expensive but worth it.

8 months ago ASDF GHJKLdescribed this experience as follows:

We had a lovely anniversary dinner from 7pm on a Thursday evening. All the staff were fabulous, polite, helpful and very informative as to drinks/wines/beers and food available. The selection was great; from the starters, soups, main courses, sushi, desserts and fruit. We especially loved the grill selection of meats and vegtables. There was a small selection of seafood as well. On the weekend there is even steak, goose liver and a much larger variety of seafood. Everything was very clean and well presented. Our surprise cake was a lovely gesture! Thanks for a nice evening and we will be back for sure!:)

7 months ago Emy Haroldevaluates this place as follows:

Excellent variety, fresh food, and great value! Trófea Grill in Újbuda is a fantastic buffet spot. The all-you-can-eat format offers an incredible selection, including delicious Hungarian dishes, a well-stocked live grill station, and even a separate sushi counter. The food is constantly replenished, always fresh, and made with high-quality ingredients. The fixed price also includes unlimited drinks, making it a superb value for money. The restaurant is spacious and clean, perfect for groups or families. The staff is friendly and efficient. A perfect choice if you want to try a bit of everything without breaking the bank! Highly recommend.

3 years ago Ayşegül Beşliexplained best how he liked it:

The food they have is tasty in general. But i would expect to have at least one kind of beef instead of many kinds of chicken. Also for the sea food selection they have almost nothing. Sushi was good. Desserts were 4.5/10. Starters were also good. Service was great. The birthday cake gesture is really good but it unfortunately tastes not good at all :( filled with lots of cream and thin layer of cake gives you “cheap cake” taste.

9. place definitely deserves McDonald's

McDonald's
We rate the place at 8.2/10!. This place was visited and rated 12274-times

What our travelers says:

3 months ago William Wongevaluates this place as follows:

One of the nicest McDonald’s restaurants I’ve visited during my travels. The staff are warm, helpful, and friendly. However, it’s a shame that it occasionally attracts rowdy, littering, and rude customers-something that seems to be one of the most tiring parts of the day for the staff. I witnessed a young adult throwing his wrappers on top of the glass display, forcing the staff to awkwardly tell him off and try to retrieve them. Despite this, the team handles these situations professionally, and their kindness really stands out, making this location well worth visiting.

2 months ago ziad kmeid- why does he think this place is on the list?

Stepping into McDonald’s Nyugati is like walking into a time machine with a side of fries. One moment you’re imagining yourself in 19th-century Budapest, walking under soaring glass ceilings and ornate ironwork that would make Gustave Eiffel nod in approval. The next, you’re ordering a Big Mac, fries, and a McCafé latte from a touchscreen kiosk that feels like it belongs to the 21st century. It’s absurd. It’s magical. It’s McDonald’s meets museum. On weekends, they’ve hosted DJ sets and electronic remixes, turning part of the station into a surreal fast-food dance hall.

3 months ago Daria Habeliuk: it is necessary to add to this place:

It’s cool that they came up with something like this inside — the vibe was really fun and atmospheric. Overall, it was a nice and unusual experience. The food was fine, typical McDonald’s 😂 However, the staff felt a bit strange and rude, kind of lost at times. Still, I’d actually recommend it for the atmosphere. The concept is cool, even if the service could definitely be better.

6 months ago tiffany chinexplained best how he liked it:

Beautiful McDonald’s, super grand looking. There was plenty of seating upstairs and looked like there was a conveyor belt contraption that brought food to you if you wanted to order it that way. I got a tiny tam kids meal set and a burger. Nothing special about the food, just a pretty looking location.

4 months ago Sam Szczepanskihow did he rate it?

Very cool concept to have live music, DJ and lights in a mcdonalds. However, the queues were enormous to get in (I hour) and the wait for food was also too long (20 minutes). Nevertheless a quite different experience, whilst not worth the wait the food was good and the music was good.

Ate here a few months ago and still think about the food. Everything we ordered was just so delicious and homey. The steak dish was my favorite, it was perfectly cooked medium. Service was nice even if they were very busy. The wait was very long when i went (almost an hour) but it was worth it. I would recommend making a reservation. Loved the medieval vibes inside it was really cool atmosphere.

5 months ago Yue Yuan- why does he think this place is on the list?

I cant even wait to write down my review before I finish my meal. Goose liver with goose leg is perfect. Best liver I had in Budapest. Hen soup is tasty. All waitresses, efficient and nice. Price is cheap, and they don‘t force to charge you service fee. A must to try in Budapest. Will come again!!! Ahhhhhhh soooooo good!!!

4 months ago Sheyla Arangoexplained best how he liked it:

The best: the food. Food is really good here. We were 3 and asked for the 2 people grilled dish and was more than enough for us even considering that we all were super hungry. The grilled dish consisted in 4 or 5 different types of meat, with potatoes and salad included. The sparkling Hungarian wine was not as good though, but we enjoyed it anyway. We did not asked for a reservation but we waited only for 5 minutes. Attention was kind and fast, they speak English and Italian. I will definitely come back again and again to this restaurant. The prices were fair enough, 13 euro each for all we ate was more than great.

3 months ago Julianevaluates this place as follows:

Without exaggeration, this place had the best food on my Budapest trip. The prices were good compared to other places I visited, and both the food and service were amazing. The goulash was probably my favorite dish, and as a Czech, I have to say it’s one of the best goulashes I’ve ever had, which says a lot. Definitely recommended!

2 months ago Emek Derin Ak- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

This was the highlight of my Budapest visit Goose leg …. Just amazing… most of the restaurants they generally have duck leg but here has the goose… I accidentally found it . And thank God 😍 services is super friendly . Just always in a rush because it’s always busy 🤓

4 years ago Anastasia Kurenkova- why does he think this place is on the list?

We were here for the second time, the best place for lunch. Format - smorgasbord, entrance costs €32 on weekends and €28 on weekdays. Huge variety of dishes, several kinds of meat that are cooked on the grill, a large selection of seafood. Waiters actively offer alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, quickly clean dishes from the table. Completely justify the cost, I recommend.

3 years ago Robert Wadsley- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

Food was incredible quality, dining staff were very tentative. Was offered 2 bottles of wine, all included in set menu price. I would only say that if you don't leave a big tip you would be something of a criminal!

3 years ago David Bennett- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

We didn't have a booking but they managed to find us a table and then apologised for the location of the table. The waiters were very attentive and helpful. The selection was very good. The food was excellent. Overall it was a wonderful experience, we couldn't fault it.

What our travelers says:

3 years ago Beatriz Araújo- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

My favourite dinner experience in Budapest. Ended up going there twice! Very nice atmosphere with piano life. Food and service are great! The take on beef tartare is different but I loved it. The goulash was great as well and very cute with the bread! Both times I had to have the cod with pesto risotto. Really liked it!

3 years ago John Abrahamsonsaid the following about this gem:

Truly one of the best meal experiences we ever had on our trip. The presentation, the atmosphere, the food quality, the pricing, all really amazing. Had we known about this restaurant on the front end of our trip, we would have dined there several times.

3 years ago B. Newton (P)said the following about this gem:

The atmosphere is a solid ten, and if you come with a group or family I'm sure you will have a great time. The service however is a let down, the staff are disinterested and not present. The Hungarian goulash was, like the staff, a little disappointing for a dish that carries the national name. The rest of the menu is anything but traditional, and would be best described as modern fusion. There is a great buzz in the place, so maybe the modern fusion is the way to go. Overall, this restaurant is probably worth a try, but do not expect traditional food or the staff to add to your experience.

4 years ago Ivonig Corfmathow did he rate it?

I have been coming to this place a few times now and I have never been disappointed. The quality of the food, drinks and service is very good. It's fairly priced regarding the quality. There is live piano music, the style of the room is great and even a playing corner for the children. A great place.

3 years ago Sungwoo Parkwrote only this about this place:

I visited this restaurant with my grandparents, hoping to impress them with the quality of the food and the service, as we had enjoyed it on our previous visit. Unfortunately, our experience this time was ruined by the appalling behaviour of one of the servers. After finishing our meal, I asked one of the servers where the toilet was located. The server lied to me at first, claiming that there was no toilet in the restaurant. Later, he called me back and told me where it was while scoffing at me at the same time. This behaviour was completely unacceptable and left us feeling humiliated and disrespected. To make matters worse, the tip was already included in the bill, so we had to pay for the service, despite being offended by the server's behaviour. When we talked back about this issue while leaving the restaurant, the server did not seem to take it seriously, perhaps because I was laughing. In reality, I was not laughing because I found the situation humorous, but because I was dumbfounded by such a rude behaviour by the server. As someone who has lived in Budapest for two years, I have never encountered such blatant disrespect in any restaurant. It is unacceptable for a server to make fun of their customers or lie to them, and it is equally unacceptable for a restaurant to include a tip in the bill without asking the customers' consent. I strongly advise the management of this restaurant to reevaluate their hiring process and to ensure that their employees treat all customers with the respect and dignity they deserve. I sincerely hope that no one else has to endure such a degrading experience when dining at this establishment.

5. place belongs to Sir Lancelot Medieval Restaurant

Sir Lancelot Medieval Restaurant

What our travelers says:

4 years ago Jennifer Smithhow did he rate it?

The naming of this place doesn’t make sense and it’s super-touristy but the decor is loads of fun. A medieval British-themed restaurant serving Hungarian food? Sure! This place was recommended by our hotel and it didn’t disappoint. We ate around 5pm when the restaurant was fairly empty. I got the prawns platter and my husband the pork knuckle. Food arrived promptly after ordering. The portions are MASSIVE. Whilst it’s not the cheapest meal, the amount of prawn skewers on the plate (which were yummy, dotted with paprika) would easily cost double in London. Remember there are no forks! Only spoons and knives. So a bit tricky eating salad with the prawns with a spoon but figured it out. Eating with your hands is encouraged. We walked out super-stuffed and happy.

4 years ago Carina P: it is necessary to add to this place:

Fancy restaurant! You feel like taken back into medieval times, It looks like a huge castle. The dishes are also very traditional. Very friendly staff! Huge selection of food, everything was fresh and the plates were very big. Would definitely come back again and can totally recommend it 👍

3 years ago Chris Aexplained best how he liked it:

We had an absolutely amazing time at Sir Lancelot! The atmosphere was incredible and really made me feel like I was transported back in time to the Middle Ages. The staff were all dressed in period costumes and were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food was also good. The entertainment was also top-notch, with sword fights and other performances throughout the night. It was definitely an experience to remember! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a unique dining experience in Budapest. It's perfect for a special occasion or just a fun night out with friends.

3 years ago Andrea Gargiani- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

Very charming themed place, the medieval atmosphere is perfect. Good dishes, from tender and tasty meats, to abundant side dishes, do not give you forks to eat, but only knives to cut the dishes, you must use ONLY HANDS. During dinner you can attend the belly dancer and fire eater show🔥🔥 Definitely to be recommended!!!

3 years ago Shlomi Mafuda- why does he think this place is on the list?

Tasty, fun, great experience. So different, you will not get a fork, we must eat with hands... This is brilliant! You will fill like you back in the knights days... The meat was great! Perfect made and good!

4. place is occupied by Hard Rock Cafe

Hard Rock Cafe
We give 8.6/10!. This place was visited and rated 10645-times

What our travelers says:

3 years ago Arzu A: it is necessary to add to this place:

Just awful. If you're hoping that the reviews here are subjective and maybe things aren't so bad, that's a mistake. Tea was brought in a dirty cup with traces of someone else's lipstick and traces of tea inside. After asking, they changed it. The burgers we ordered had small bones. From the unpleasant, the burger from the kids menu was over salted in places. The Caesar salad plate looked dirty. The service charge is included in the bill, although I would not pay for such service. The waitress seemed completely indifferent, even after we voiced our complaints and she passed them on to the manager. After our complaints, as expected, there was absolutely no response. Dishes were not removed from the table. Before that, I thought that the most terrible hard rock is in Rome, but now I think to stop visiting this place altogether in different countries of the world. Of the pluses, I can note the children's menu, as in all hard rock cafes, not bad, the children like it.

3 years ago Ljubiša Kukuljdescribed this experience as follows:

If you want to chill a bit in the morning or get an afternoon drink in a cool ambient this is the place to go. Stuff is the best. Really polite, ready to help and explain anything you ask. There is a "museum" as well with a bunch of stuff from famous stars. Epic place. You should visit for sure!

3 years ago Kathy McCandlesswrote only this for this place:

3 years ago oneofthebhoysevaluates this place as follows:

Nice building right on central square, some great music memorabilia. Standard HRC menu, but very reasonably priced compared to most other countries. Service very good, as expected.

3 years ago Tim Bhow did he rate it?

Definitely a cool experience with the more than usual rocky theme. We were taken to sit downstairs, where the bar is also located and we walked through beautiful rock stars records, guitars, and clothings. Only thing was we ordered the classic club sandwich and that took more then 20 minutes to prepare, and of course the high price I don't usually feel in a hard rock cafe.

Good place to try out authentic Hungarian food. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. better yo reserve your seats or might take time to get seats in peak time. Almost all the dishes we tried was tasty. Goulash, meat stew, stuffed cabbage etc all are mouth watering. The starters are good too. So are the deserts

3 years ago Itay Steinevaluates this place as follows:

One of my favorite restaurants in Budapest. The menu is stacked and generally all dishes are good, with noticeable highlights like the Hungarian stew, goulash, and especially the roasted duck on risotto! The place also serves awesome drinks. Very reasonable prices, restaurant is classy and well-designed, and the service were very friendly. Highly recommended.

3 years ago sara gaeinidescribed this experience as follows:

Totally recommended 😎 We ordered some cocktails first, which was obviously made there and not ready ones. They tasted great and unique. Then for starters we tried goulash and I can confirm that we all love it 😍 It is tasty and really different taste. For main dish we tried four different ones and each of them was great. Well cooked meats, freshly salad and bread. I will go back for sure.

3 years ago Chris Mdescribed this experience as follows:

Visited this restaurant as part of a team dinner together with my colleagues. I loved the interiors and ambience of this place. The service was amazing and fast. They spoke English very well. The food was about average. But not bad at all. I would recommend this place for some good Hungarian cuisine.

3 years ago El Atlas de Jon- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

Great place to taste local food. There is plenty of space but it's better to book a table because it's always full. We had different local dishes like goulash or beef stew and it was delicious with lots of flavor, as it was the Schnitzel. Very good prices overall and at least when we went there, it wasn't touristy at all.

What our travelers says:

3 years ago Monika Jakubczyk: it is necessary to add to this place:

I have had nothing but fantastic experiences with this place! I had a reservation made for Wednesday evening. We were attended to on the spot by an over-sympathetic waitress. We ordered gazpacho, goulash for the first course, Viennese schnitzel and duck for the second, and lemonade to drink. The food was fantastic. The soups were delicious and quickly served, as was the second course. The schnitzel was amazing, the duck melting in the mouth. Plus fantastic service and the atmosphere of the place (beautifully decorated, a musician played live piano). The sum for the dinner came out quite large, but it was definitely worth it.

3 years ago armando g ramosevaluates this place as follows:

The place creates a very nice atmosphere as the architecture of the building is remarkable. Went there for a private event, and the conference rooms are spacious, the staff was very helpful as well. Unfortunately, the food was very simple and the portions very small, with no vegetarian options offered rather than rice and potatoes.. Prices are super high for a glass of wine, but the service was fine. Not planning to go there to spend a fortune for a lunch anytime soon..

3 years ago Gerard Jean-Baptiste- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

From the moment you walk in, you know something special is about to take place. The restaurant has that enticing allure, drawing in beautiful people from around the world. The service is impeccable, and it's hard not to appreciate the stellar ambiance! And then there's the food: every item I tried was phenomenal, from appetizers to entrees to desserts. If you haven't been to "The Most Beautiful Cafe in the World" yet, I highly recommend you visit. You won't be disappointed!

3 years ago Andreea L.what can I say about this place?

Beautiful architecture and if you go, do check the inner courtyard from the hotel, really worth it. We arrived to find a huge line outside. They offer you a 5€ per person “priority” la e and you can cut your waiting time. If you can, make a reservation. The menu is available online and worth checking ahead of time. The building itself is indeed gorgeous and well maintained. Italian Renaissance style, marbled columns rise to meet ceiling frescoes and crystal chandeliers. The food is underwhelming and completely overpriced. You cannot even get a bottle of “tap” water on the house. And it is way too crowded. The fact that people come and only use this place for “insta pics” makes the atmosphere a bit laughable and less enjoyable. Prep yourself to see all kinds of outfits and party makeup

3 years ago Janawrote only this about this place:

I can understand why many people put negative opinions on this. But if you want to have a good time in an amazing building, this is a must see. We had a private concert of the orchestra, super friendly people. The staff was good as: they do the job on their on tempo. The prices are a bit insane, 8,5 euros for a latte. But you know you pay for the place. It was a good coffee. We also shared some dessert, they were very good. So you can decide on your own if you want to have a amazing time staring at the ceiling and feel a bit of the magic (there were so many cosy corners, lights, a Xmas three) with your favourite company or choosing something else for half of the price in another building. For me it is a one time moment but I really enjoyed it.
