Whilst staying in Garching a friend suggested we go here for our evening meal. I had a schnitzel that was very tasty, a simple but well prepared meal. The venue is quite traditional, not modern but the bar was very popular with people enjoying football ⚽ on the television. Recommended

Average food with very limited vegetarian options... Edit: after seven years, I have to edit this review and change the number of stars from 3 to 1. I have been contacted by the lawyer of this place via Google, as it seems 3 stars were not enough for them and they attempted to remove my review. I find this to be a very questionable business practice. My review was truthful at the time and looking at more recent pictures and menu, it seems still to be truthful. Attempting at increasing their on-line image without actually acting on the reviews' content shows very poor business management skills. As customers cannot freely describe their experience on Google Maps, in all honesty, I can only strongly recommend against going to this place - unless you are prepared to receive a lawyer's letter for not giving 5 stars.

The place has a really good athmosphere, the interior is like a mixture of old Bavarian and English pubs. Very good beer, large doses of food for reasonable price. Nothing really special, but you won't need it here.

Good place to eat quickly. It is relatively cheap and have traditional bavarian dishes. Close to Ibis hotels, so is an optimal choice for quick dinner in a buisness trips.

Tasty dishes at relatively low price. Jagerhof-Schnitzel and Weisse Wittmann recommended. As a hotel, not so good because the smell of some room is unpleasant. Staff not speaking English too much.

I've been struggling to find a nice Italian restaurant in Munich and I finally found it. It is 100% worth the trip to Garching. It is easily reachable with the U6 from Marienplatz. You can taste the great quality of the ingredients and the love they put in every dish they make. The waiters are super nice and available for your requests, the place is cozy and has the typical traditional Italian vibe. The price is fair and worth the quality of the ingredients. Will surely come back.

We went there for dinner on Saturday the 22nd of July - their pizza ist a MUST-Try !! we also ordered their handmade pasta and Pannacotta: wonderful experience !!

Family meal in a lively atmosphere, great service and good variety of pasta and pizza’s. Be sure to book in advance is it gets busy.

I had Giardiniera Pizza, Radler and Tiramusu. Good food. Lively atmosphere next to road to enjoy European summer. Service is okay.

Service is a typical German one, a bit slow.. unfortunately no English menu, so I had to Google Translate my way through the menu. Prices wise, I believe they're reasonable, comparing to my country, that's half the price. Ordered a grilles octopus for starter and lamb chops for main. Let me tell you that, this food, is super fresh and tasty. The portions were big and satisfying, and the taste was just great. Ordered a wheat beer from the barrel, it was one of the best that I have drank. All in all, it came up to almost 40 euros. 2 dishes, 1 beer, 1 0.4l mineral water. And... They gave me a shot of Ouzo which was very good too. Note to the restaurant - you should make an English menu, because your waiters doesn't understand much.. I will come back next time when I'm in Munich or Garching.

I love this place and its' lunchtime menu. The prices are reasonable and the food is tasty and includes a decent salad. Waiting times for the food are often just a few minutes! There's almost nothing to complain about, a superb place to have lunch especially when time is short.

I have been at El greco many times and I can say safely that it is the best restaurant in garching. The food is amazing and the owners too. I have been in Greece many times, but when I'm in Garching I know that I will not miss it

Wonderful service and very tasty food. I had the Pulpi for an appetizer which was perfectly done (a difficult task) and grilled whole calamari (excellent). My sons had grape leaves (as good as he's had in Greece) and the grill platter (loved it). Definitely worth your attention when in Garching.

Surprise Indian restaurant at Garching. Service is very nice and the crew is amazing. Food taste is really nice especially on a small town like Garching. Nice ambience, and good vibe. On a weekday seeing so much crowd is surprising. Over all - decent Indian restaurant in Garching. Will be visiting again soon.

Good location. Right next to the U- Bahn stop. The food and the service both are awesome. Taste wise I will definitely recommend and the portion size is also good. Can be tried once and then depending on your experience you can decide. For me I will visit them again. Completely satisfied with the lip smacking flavours.

Wonderful! Definitely my go-to (non-Bavarian) restaurant in Garching! A great selection of super tasty dishes! Their butter chicken is superb, and so is some of the more spicy options. Also try the special Tandoori choices. Super friendly staff, and always a lot of waiters available. Outdoor seating available. Always a free starting snack included.

I yesterday went with some professors and my 3 years old kid for dinner, reserved a tabke in advancefor 5 people. My kids pamper got an accident, and on the floor was some pee. Fine, accidents can happen. There was no damage if it happened. I could have covered the cost of any damage, but it was really a small issue. I was polite and asked a guy, he seemed like a manager with a short height for some tissues to clean. He replied, "Really, how can it happen?" Extremely rude and explaining how you can clean with tissue, how can it happen, almost yelling. He doesn't know how to talk. I cleaned the floor, but he still was so stubborn and arrogant, yelling at his subordinates. I started crying because I couldn't handle the embracement and felt sorry for waiters there whom he was constantly bullying. Extremely family unfriendly place. This is my second and last visit of such an unreasonable place. If someone interested in recording and photos can be provided to find out how rude and unreasonable that guy was.

The food in this place really is the worst Indian food I have ever been served (I couldn't eat it). I rarely complain to staff about food quality because taste is subjective and I'm not a chef, but I did let this place know. I even got the impression that the waiters genuinely agreed with me! I am told that the owner also has a restaurant in Halbergmoos and when I ate there, the food was very good.

I ate in Honghong for around 10 times last year. Those are their best foods, however they don’t have a consistency, meaning this is basically the peak, and all other times when I was there the food is just worse. They have average chinese food . However the owner(the lady server) extremely unfriendly and rude, and it is possible for you to wait for a long time for your food. So food 3 stars Service no star (Edit: those picture are taken a year ago, now their food is also worse, I would not recommend the place)

Hi all. Here is my pick on the place from December 2023. 1/ The place has clear ownership. Led by a family together with another restaurant in Munich, this place receives personal attention from the owners, who themselves work there. Very hard working people. 2/ The quality of food in the long time was variable, and now, it has an increase again. Mind, of-course, that this restaurant works in a more budget-friendly price segment. Yet, the servings are big, the food is tasty, you get enough fresh vegetables integrated, very very large choice of dishes. I like their peanut sauce curry, fried noodles with shrimp, pumpkin curry. 3/ The atmosphere maybe is not for romantic dates, but it's clean there and spacy enough, again, owners take care of you there. 4/ The waiting times for pick up have drastically decreased lately. It was unreliable before, but now, you order and you get food as agreed. 5/ Some write that the owners are rude or something, this is not true at all. I've been there multiple times, and yes, Chinese speakers are not amazing with their German or English, but they are very friendly and really attentive. I never had any troubles there, always very personal attitude. The owners dog chills in the restaurant often, it's okay for me, kind people have such dogs :) Overall, the very low rating for this restaurant is unfair, it's the best Asian in Garching speaking of food.

It is very sad that the owner chooses to treat customers differently depending on their skin colour. If you speak fluent German and look like you’re from Germany you should have a good experience here. If not you will be treated quite badly. The owner insists that we buy drinks and said “if you don’t order drinks, you can’t eat here. The food is actually quite good. This place gets 3 stars for atmosphere only because of the sweet and deprived looking dog. The dog I don’t think should even be in the restaurant for hygiene purposes.

Today we picked up food. The Szechuan beef was mostly chilies, and sprouts were missing . I love spicy but this was just too much as you can see on the picture. I hope the next time it will be better again!

I ordered tender beef and asked for not too spicy; the waitress accepted and then was talking to another waitress back there an complaining about people requesting for less spicy. Finally, as usual, there was no attention to my request and it turned out as super spicy as it normally is and nearly half of it was oil!

I like to eat in Farmer's steakhouse every time I visit Munich or Munich area. This time, it was a great experience. I visited this steakhouse during the weekend and enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere and tasty food.

Well, we visited this place after a long time. And I have to say, a lot changed. This place was great before and food was tasty. I am a bit disappointed after our last visit - it’s not the same as it was before. Food has no taste. Portions are still ok. Please don’t get it as a negative review, consider it as a positive feedback for the future! I am sure you can do better!

I ordered the tomato soup, onion rings, and Turkey schnitzel. I was unhappy with the food and the service. The onion ring appetizer was over 6 Euros for 5 small onion rings. The portion size for this plate at the cost was unsatisfactory. The soup was sour….not sweet or neutral. The Turkey schnitzel was covered in corn flakes (which is ok) but the meat was dry and the corn flakes were oily. The service was fair/mediocre, nothing special. AMEX was not accepted (only Visa or Mastercard). I assume there are better places to eat in Garching which offer better portion size for cost. Just my two cents.

Sadly I was sick the night after having a dry and tasteless Cornflakesschnitzl. Atmosphere was quiet and the service was decent enough, but not happy or enthusiastic - pretty good reflection of the food quality. The beer was good though!

Great food. Nice atmosphere and staff, if you're planning on asking for the student discount for burgers note that they ask for the idea before ordering.

I love this Biergarten. It’s an ideal goal for a bike trip from Munich (about 18 km ,most of the way along the Isar river). The Biergarten is small and very lovely and with reasonable price, especially for a Steckerlfisch (grilled whole fish, mostly Mackerel). It’s always worth a visit there!

Great place for a beer. There are some food options, but the locals tend to bring their own food here. There's a playground on the other side of the creek, so it's super kid friendly. The staff is great.

It's a superb place to visit... visit with family and friends... I visited with my friends. Good beer and tasty snacks... Fruit juices are also available of anyone doesn't want to drink beer. Beautiful surroundings. Loved the Wasserrad or the water wheel. Also liked the board put up there about " Altbayerische Wetterstation", found it very interesting and funny.

Nice sunny place, good selection of food. Toilets ok. Pretty watermill in the brook. Parking lot about 10 minutes away. Big playground around the corner. Parking nearby forbidden, so there is no danger from traffic. On good weather days they serve BBQ spare ribs on the grill €14l. A beer without alcohol €3,90, pretzels fresh and soft.

Nice restaurant, the food is great as it is in Greece, the staff was really nice, friendly. Also you are getting extra stuff (ouzo, small deserts). They are making to feel like you are in Greece on a great island.

The food was really nice. I tried the vegetarian item where they stuff a paprika and tomato with aromatic nice with spices. Simply put delicious. Although the one star has to go away because of the cheese ( i think it was goat cheese which I am not a fan but hey maybe you like it). Oh yeah there's baked potatoes that come with it. Lets say it was nice.

Happy to have chosen this nice place for dinner as we were staying around this town. Lucky to have arrived early without any reservation as it was crowded… The food and service was really amazing. Wonderful Greek food.. 👍🏼👍🏼

I used to eat here on occasion when I was living in Munich. To date it's still one of the best Greek restaurants I've eaten at, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy a delicious meal in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Food is good, not exceptional. Service is horrible, as you are treated like an annoyance especially if you don't speak German (note that the German spoken there is just as bad). Long wait for getting the drink orders. When asking to order food (30 mins after sitting) we are reprimanded for such a request, as they are busy (when effectively they are busy chatting). When a German speaker asked to be treated with respect they finally came over took the order. Food arrived another 30 mins after. No complimentary USPS, nothing to ease out their rudeness. Absolutely not recommended. This is not the way you wait on people.

We enjoyed our lunch at this place. The dishes are large and tasty, everything was prepared quite quickly. Survis is good. I like dark beer and it is very tasty here.

We went there to eat, and the lady waitress decided to put 2 other random persons with us at the table while we were eating. We told her multiple times that we don't accept that, but she forced us. Then she started complaining that we should be happy that we had the "chance" to eat at her restaurant. Terrible experience. Also, the food was very oily.

Nice and traditional Bavarian style pub and restaurant, we tried two different version if Schnitzel and both were good, I would say they are not the best in presentation but the taste was good. The menu is only in dutch and I wished there was an English version to make choices a bit easier, we were lucky to have a German friend with us that kindly translated all to us. Garden tables was nice, there was a lovely corner we had a table booked on, but the cushions on the outdoor furniture were missing so was a bit difficult to sit there for a few hours on the hard chairs.

We went to the restaurant for lunch. Most of us had the cordon Bleu and it was delicious. We also had the cheese pasta and my daughter loved it. The staff were super friendly and helpful. One of our friend's dishes didn't arrive with the rest of the food and the waiter took action immediately, delivering the food soon after. We were a large group with kids and he helped with all of our requests. I will definitely go back.

Perfect place to go to enjoy local Bavarian and international cuisine. Great service, reasonable pricing, high quality. You can also sit outside in a typical Bavarian Wirtsgarten.

Another good chinese buffet around Munich. For 19€ you get to eat everything you want from the wide variety of food they offer. For 25€ you get to an all you can drink on top of that (with 1 extra € per alcoholic drink, wine or beer). The food variety is great. It ranges from soups to chinese dishes to live grill plus dessert, ice cream and merry cream. The quality of food may not be the best, but for the price it is great. For the live grill, you get salmon, shark, octopus, shrimp and much more. For the meat, you get rabbit, kangaroo, lamb and much more.

Sushi was like I was making it and I'm not good at it. Duck and pork and veggies were good but too salty. Didn't taste like Chinese food I tried in other restaurants. The waitress said I should order extra drink next time I want to come which I didn't appreciate. They have buffet so you can try many different plates for cheap price. I guess this is something that will attract people.

Good food, nice place with parking area. They have a lot of vegetarian options. I don't eat meat anymore, but I find myself something to eat here. Lunch 16.90 with unlimited drink and coffee ☕️ or tea 🍵 with different kind of desserts 🍨 🥧 🍦 and ice cream 🍦 ♥️ and soft ice🍦

Too many varieties of delicious food for ~25Euros per person which includes drinks (Beer extra, 1€ per bottle). Friendly staff who go out of their way to support your requests, for example when we asked to click a pic, staff came out in the cold and she clicked many pictures! Sufficient parking in front of restaurant.
