Perhaps a surprisingly low rating, but due to a coincidence of inconveniences, I cannot give more. Thanks to the friendly attitude, I wanted to keep the review to myself, as I don't like to write negative reviews for people who are really trying, but because of the unpleasant surprise at the end, I decided to publish it and I believe that it will help the owner to fix these few things... Early Sunday evening, 4-5 tables on the terrace were fully occupied in the restaurant, so we sat down for a quick dinner, for pancakes... Unfortunately, it wasn't fast... we waited about 20 minutes before we could order, the waitress apologized in advance , that they are solving something (apparently remodeling, as the back part of the restaurant was slightly expanded), so OK. We ordered pancakes, which arrived after more than 25 minutes... However, we appreciate the attitude of the owner/chef, who came to personally apologize for this (miscommunication with the waitress, they thought the pancakes would go to another table as dessert , that's why they waited...), we even got one portion for free. :) So this is all OK, we understand that this happens (but it shouldn't). However, it was an unpleasant surprise when there was some peanut butter in the pancake with Nutella and not Nutella, as it says on the menu. I don't know if it's my fault for not asking if there is nutella in the nutella pancake?.... :/ .... As for the design of the restaurant, it has probably been the same for over 10 years and it resembles a pub rather than a quality restaurant. I believe that the redesign will help. ;) Otherwise, the main dishes that came out of the kitchen looked really great. Maybe we would taste it, but only when we breathe this... :D

Bad experience when paying. He wrote the amount I prepared for him on paper, but asked for another. When I point out that I put my own wrappers, he plays on and doesn't seem to mind, even when he then obviously brings them out for me to put in my bag. I don't know if it was a problem to admit a mistake, or to cheat on pennies, but it was played very poorly.

In an empty business, the cisnik had 15 minutes for each end. I wouldn't want to see him in full company. The size of the portion of steak with fries is quite good, but the garnish 0 points, the food looked below average...

Classic Slovak - Hungarian type food.

Bought as a take away kebab in bread and in baguette. Good idea, but meat was very salty, so we couldnt enjoy others tastes. Also the vegetable in the kebab didnt fit in in terms of taste.

Zero hygiene, personell rude and overall vibe not good. Not recomending.

Ist good and tasty but ist "you pay more for small food then for bigger".

Affordable and big portion of food. They had buffet the time we ate in the restaurant. We didnt finished the meal. They do not accept card, only cash payment. Nice place and very asian them.

Offering bufet or regular portions. Service is nice and quick. Food was good and with reasonable portions. Definitely good stop for food for reasonable price.

At 12 there is no a lot of food. And at 13-00 you don't have a chance to use bufet

The place is great and family friendly. However food could be served better in appearance taste and portion. Customer service can be improved too. Rest all is good.

Menu has plenty to choose but meal quality is very generic, nothing special, just an average. Too fat in my opinion, whatever was ordered it was swiming in fat/oil. They have children playground outside and some kids corner inside.. at nights there are dance parties..

Most of the time I come here to club/dance. Security staff unpleasant. There is no price list for drinks, so you never know what will you pay. Smoking is permitted inside :( On the good side it's a great place to club, good variety in DJ's and performances/ guests.

Good food, but the staff is unfriendly and they make you feel that you are not welcome at all. Also their opening times are not clear. Last time I went there the pub was closed without any notification. I don't recommend this pub at all.

Dj could be better place is nice less slovak and gypsy music

This is a new MD's in Nove Zamky and it is located at the entry point if the town as you drive in from Bratislava. It is a great place for familiar and friends. There is parking and also a drive through if you need something at a go. There are counter service and also self service stations. No sanitation station so need to take your own hand sanitizer and also need a face mask when ordering. Thank you and have a great time 👍

To e honest, I'd not normally bother to give a rating - well, McD's is pretty much the same, whole world round. However... Ended up at Nove Zamky near the end of a long drive. We used the self service system to order our meals, but the receipt printed out blank. Potential disaster; we don't speak Slovak (just English). Thankfully, one of the staff (apologies for forgetting her name) spoke pretty fluent English. She figured out the receipt roll had been put in the wrong way round, so didn't print. Then, with a bit of detective work, sorted our order while being polite and friendly. Without her, it would have been a much longer, and probably stressful event. I doubt she'll read, this but if she does, we'd just like to say another 'Thank you'.

This is a restaurant, where i can get a good meal. Always good quality food, wines are tasty and service helpfull. We were there on Friday evening, so there was a life music and somw people did dance as well.

used to be one of the better restaurants in town, food quality went down a lot recently, I may suggest to limit your visit to a beer or coffee, the outside terrace has some vibe

Good tea I enjoyed it, I would recommend if you like nature and wanna sit down and relax. Prices there are a bit more expensive than in other places in Nové Zámky but overall good. Would recommend to go to Ajax if you want to eat good food for good price!

Lovely place, you have to cross the river to get there. Luckily we found it, because we were extra hungry. Good was delicious, waiters were pleasant. We left happy and full. Could be nice to walk in the park out there.

I had a 300 gr. steak and a big 300 gr. salad with Parmesan cheese ! I loved it and I'll come back on my next business trip. Sitting outside, in the evening you need a good Mosquito spray :-)

Place is very nice and clean, food was generally good, except of cheese gnocchi. Also we didn’t have a cash and in this age I would say that was a big minus that you couldn’t pay with card. They also have a minigolf which is nice addition for the kids. If you decide to outside the surrounding are is very nice and relaxing.

Nice setting by the river with plenty of outdoor seating. Lovely helpful waiters. Average food though big choice. Cash only.

The experience in this Restaurant has been exceptional. The service and the staff are very helpful, brilliant and very down to earth. There is no words to describe the atmosphere in this Restaurant. You need to be here to experience the magic There is ample parking on site and it caters for disabled persons too. A great place for friends families and loved ones to enjoy the different meals provided by this restaurant. Great place to dine with children and there is also a mini golf just a stone throw away from the restaurant - if you fancy a go at it. Compliments to the Manager and the staff. A typical low-quality "slovak-style" restaurant. Menu is so boring consisting of 95% meat options. This is a place where undemanding people go for lunch. Prices are high considering quality of food. If you want to eat food without taste go here. As there are merely 3 vegetarian options in the menu I went for mushroom risotto. Let me tell your this was the most awful risotto I had in my life. Not a sence of real mushroom in the meal - risotto consisted of rice and cheap buillon. I will never visit again. Regarding staff and service there is a huge place for improvement as well. Service was slow and waiter was not very kind - she looked like she would rather be anywhere else than this restaurant.

Very nice pub with kind personal... Food is amazing here!! I am strongly recommend this pub. Specially if you decide to go there recommending you to order steak... For me the best one is with pfeferr sauce. Interier is very nice as well with two floors, floor 0 and 1 st.

We arrived around noon to a mostly empty establishment. Nice visual atmosphere, a bit dark. Large open inner salon that can easily fit over 100 people. No one greeted us, we had to ask the bartender lady if this is Chilly Pub as the sign at the entrance said otherwise. After confirming we are at the right spot we went to sit at the backyard as we had our 2 year old child with us, and knew that they have a playground there. The yard is quite nice and our child enjoyed sliding on the large slide. Here comes the bad bit: a waitress came out with a stone cold expression, asking us what we want. I in turn asked for a menu, to which she said that we will have to wait as all is moved inside now (as it is October and she was clearly not too happy that she needs to serve us so far from the kitchen bar). I guess she assumed that we are just some kids who came for a drink and are wasting her time. She was actually attempting a smile when she came to take our order, now that she saw we are actually planning on ordering food. I ordered the tuna salad and asked for no dill dressing, my wife ordered fried cheese and french fries, and we got a separate plate of sweet potatoe fries for our kid. The food came out quickly. My salad was sad. Honestly it looked like it was a mixed salad bag from Lidl, topped with the cheapest tuna can on the market, and some hastily chopped purple onions. Was missing the carrots, even though they were listed on the ingredients' list. I did consider returning the salad, but was worried they'd spit in it so I just went with it. My wife was happy with her order (being Slovak and used to it), but everything looked like a plain frozen and quick fried product that any person that has seen a microwave/frier could make at home. The sweet potato fries (bataty) looked the most hand treated product of it all, but were slightly burnt. Still tasty if you are not super picky. My salad cost 9 euros. We paid approximately 25 euros for a meal that I wouldn't have paid more than 12 if I had to judge by the quality. Our ashtray wasn't changed even once, and had 5 old buds in it as we sat on the table. Perhaps the other items on the menu would be much better, and if served with a genuine smile, but I guess we won't find out as we are not coming back.

2019 update: weird smoking policy. Tables next to playground full of smoking people. Pizza was burned, see photos. 2years ago: Good pizza and very nice playground for kids. You can sit outside and inside. Very spacious and nice staff.

The food was okay but I loved the interior and the dessert options. Lots of weekly offers and a good selection of wine.
