Thank you for the wonderful weekend we were able to spend at the Kempinski High Tatras. The level of service is truly exceptional. The hotel’s comfort, the cleanliness of all areas, the excellent Wellness & Spa, and the professional, pleasant and genuinely kind staff made our stay outstanding. You can truly feel that this hotel has something extra that others don’t — not only because of its remarkable location, but because of its heart. Our room was incredibly comfortable, a perfect place to relax and unwind. The breakfast was truly delightful, with great variety and quality that we really enjoyed. And the wellness experience was exceptional — the staff there were amazing, and the cleanliness of the entire area is on a level that simply cannot be compared to other hotels. Everything was absolutely perfect. We felt completely relaxed, recharged from everyday stress, and left with fresh energy and new thoughts. It was exactly the getaway we needed.

Went for a light lunch in the lobby bar. The staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming. We did not stay in the hotel, but would definitely think of doing this in the future. Parking was included because we spent over the minimum at the bar so it also meant we could see the lake without the issue of finding separate parking. Food was towards the high price for slovakia, but very reasonable for the quality and the feeling of refinement.

Our stay at the hotel was truly wonderful. The highlight was definitely the breathtaking lake views from our room. Even though the window was not very large, the scenery made it feel special. The bed was extremely comfortable, and overall we rested really well. The spa facilities were another highlight: spacious, beautifully designed, and also overlooking the lake. It was the perfect spot to relax on a lounger while enjoying a smoothie after a swim. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, which made the experience feel even warmer and more welcoming. On the practical side, there are a few things to keep in mind. The hotel is spread out across three different buildings, so depending on where your room is, getting around can feel a bit maze-like. Also, while the rooms are quite cozy, they are on the smaller side. Parking can be a downside as well. Valet service is pricey, but if you choose not to use it, you may still end up paying a significant amount and parking quite far from the entrance. Overall, it is a great place to stay if you are looking for comfort, relaxation, and stunning views.

This hotel became our escape from pre-Xmas madness several times. Have to give it an overall 4 for the spa this time. Few things not working in a high season like hot tub, steam sauna, other things felt not in a right temperature, a bit of a let down for sure. Overall the spa felt not well looked after. Food quality good. However the lounge menu is a bit small. When checking out noticed some guests will get tea as a good bye present, others champagne and tea, guests not treated equally. We were served 'second' bag with champagne after we mentioned the spa dissapointment at check out. Felt super embarassing🤦🏻‍♀️. Nobody asks during the stay if everything is ok. As guests you are invisible. Could do better Kempinski. Will think twice if we shall come again.

I’ve been living in Europe for seven and a half years and have traveled to many countries, but this was by far the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Not only was the property itself beautiful, but the quality of service and the food were both truly exceptional. Even compared to the standards of my home country, Japan, it was outstanding. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Set in a stunning location and perfect if hiking to Rysmy or reverse direction. While the rooms are basic they are warm and there is plenty of hot water. The kitchen has an excellent menu and the food superb at very reasonable prices. Also has a drying room for when you get caught in a storm and arrived drenched. Staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. This place gets busy at lunch time with day trippers walking the mountains, probably because of the kitchen. Wi-Fi now around the whole building

One of the most beautiful places we stayed during our holiday. We had a room with view on the lake. You can walk a small round around the lake, the views are stunning. The place is very touristic during the day, but if you sleep here, you can walk the round nearly alone after dinner, which makes it so much more special. Food at the restaurant is very good. A very good place to stay when you are planning to hike up Rysy. We could leave some of our stuff at the hotel when we went to climb Rysy, we could pick them up on the way down before walking towards our car.

Pretty bad experience overall. They are just relaxing on their exclusive status as the only place at the Popradske pleso. Enormously expensive, unclean, run down hallways and rooms. Breakfast features burnt croissants and ill smelling bread. Don’t really care for their customers, no initiative from their side. This is more a run down hostel than a hotel, which is unacceptable for this price. The info that the hotel is not reachable by car and a transfer needs to be booked is only shown before the booking somewhere in the text on the crowded website. Transfer is 10€ one way for one person! When telling the staff that they should change something about that, responses are only rude and confrontive. I cannot recommend staying here and just take the walk up to the lake from strbske pleso.

Perfect location is ruined by unskilled stuff, mediocre services. You dont rent room but only bed - they've put additional bed in our room with additional man, who was snoring the whole night. Don't stay there.

Mountain chalet on the Popradske Lake in the High Tatras. Mengusovska valley is one of the largest valleys on the south side of the High Tatras The valley is bordered by Bast and Popradsky Ridge. The valley is closed off by a part of the main Tatran ridge from Čubrina to Rysy. Popradské pleso is one of the most visited spots in High Tatras and a starting point for many popular hikes including to Rysy and Kôprovský štít. Near to the lake there is Symbolic Cemetery, built in a memory of the victims of the High Tatras.

Was at the restaurant a couple of times… it was manageable before but this year prices went up so dramatically that it isn’t normal anymore.. Someone would expect that plum dumplings for which you pay 8,4€ would at least have plums in them… Not even going to mention the listed weight was 400g and I received a plate with 8 little sad looking prefreezed dumplings…

Very polite and helpful staff. Meal was very tasty and priced reasonably. We enjoyed it very much and will surely return.

Gorgeous! A lovely hotel, exactly in the center, very big rooms, living room with fridge, couch and armchairs plus separate double bed (although rated as standard), big Tv, large bathroom with shower, the furniture is new, café bar, rustic restaurant with really good food and service (we were more than impressed). We could not believe the hotel is rated with only 2 stars, it's a minimum solid 3*. The price per night was 44 euro (breakfast not included), a very good price and definitely the best value hotel in Strbske Pleso. We will return for sure and highly recommend it!

Sat at the restaurant a few times. Great local beer, friendly English speaking staff, nice music, blankets for the outside terrace, vegetarian options. Can only recommend!

Pension Furkotka is amazing place spend time after hiking or just walking in High Tatras. Nice room , all is clear and tidy , big space in room was big surprise. Comfortable bed give you good rest. Restaurant is cozy, staff are very nice and kindly. Meal was amazing , served in originally trough. 💙

5/5 stars. Beautiful restaurant in the heart of Starý Smokovec will welcome you with a cozy and stylish interior, but if you are amazed already, just wait till they bring the food. We had their Royal burger which was amazing, from the presentation on the plate until the very last bite. To finish our experience we had their strudel and we couldn't have picked better for our sweet tooth. The staff is very professional and friendly also. So I can only recommend this place.

Considering its location amidst gorgeous mountain scenery just outside Hotel Patria, prices here are very reasonable. We had the clear garlic soup (with adorable spherical croutons), sheep cheese soup and hot chocolate. The soups were rich and flavorful, and the chocolate properly thick. The staff speak English well and are friendly and knowledgeable.

We have visited this Koliba on rainy Saturday noon. Great choice of food, very tasty, great coffee, prices ok. Service was nice and quick.

For a small fee, they even let you to park in their premises, it was fine for a walk around Strba tarn after our lunch

Fantastic location, heartbreaking mountain ranges and a smooth lake with boats and kayaks make this one of my most memorable moments in Slovakia. Even though it is an old building, very socialistic style, and mainly geared towards business conventions, I highly recommend coming here, the architecture of this hotel is unique and there are a lot of activities all around, for big and small.

Where to start? I bet you can find better places for the price. Blunt and simple. The hotel starts to look outdated with carpets dirty and worn, shower pushing water from all the outlets no matter what and the staff (in cafe and restaurant) being highly passive. To visualize you needed to find a staff member and ask to take your order or get the bill (often hiding behind the pilar). For positives, the spa area worked it magic and was nice addition to the place. Also their outdoor restaurant (with different name) had good food and service.

+ dog friendly + amazing location + cozy atmosphere + good massage & spa zone + clean rooms - if you are a food lover then Slovakia is not a best place to visit, as food are not tasty (everywhere around I mean, not only at this hotel) - no air conditioner at 2nd floor room - specific rules if you want to use sauna (you have to be without swimsuit) - hotel information & rules are not fully translated to English - almost all employees speaks only Slovakian - feels that hotel need an upgrade

The restaurant and the wellness is great, though only open after 3pm (2pm Friday and Saturday). Daytime is meant for hiking. There are outdoor sauna huts, dipping pool, jacuzzi (16+). The pool is also open early in the morning until 9.30, ideal for early birds. The building is monumental and fully up to date. Our first floor room was not that spatious, while detailed and beautifully furnished. The bathroom is really nice too. The third bed is a not-so-comfy single fold out bed chair, while booking.com wrote two twin-size beds. The underground fitness is barely used. Expect weight machines in mint condition!

In room you have 2 small blankets, I asked for 1 big, they don’t have it. No room service. No drinking water in the room, no tea pot, no cups, knife or spoons. The curtains on the window without blackout, be ready to wake up with the sunrise or to cover window with the blankets and pillows. The only one advantage is very clean rooms.

Such a perfect restaurant at the base of Lomnicky Stit skytram. Nice and cozy place with friendly staff. And the food? Just perfect experience, especially the “hot stone” meat. Definitely recommend to visit and will return for some more.

So many pleasant surprises! I’m in love. This place is unbelievably good!! We had to come twice in one day to try more food. We had gnocchi with bryndza cheese, turkey breast on roasted veggies with fries, pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes and baked sweet potatoes. Everything was so tasty. Their sauces are to die for, the food is perfectly done. I wish I lived here so that I could come here on a regular basis. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. The drinks are also very tasty and innovative. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. World class food!!!

no way it is $$ level, more likely $$$$ level. 15 minutes sitting without menu, I had to pick it up by myself ginger tea tasted like hot water, already second attempt. waitress does not know what is zakvas? Kyslé mlieko? Kefír? When you are ordering Bryndzové halušky? we ordered something else. waitress forgot cutlery and disappeared, I had to pick it up by myself again. Fiid was accpetable goid, portions too small for the money paid. Personnel training is very important part of business if you want charge 11.5 for Bryndzove halušky

Typical place for quick food and drinks, ribs were not good, chicken breast is better. Service is lagging but still affordable. Not great not terrible)

The food is great and the service is excellent. They serve traditional Slovak cuisine. I loved the decoration of the restaurant it is very creative and feels cozy. I think the prices are a bit higher than in the nearby restaurants but reasonable for the location and you get a big portion.

Best restaurant in Tatranska Lomnica and one of the bests in the Tatra area. Right next to the elekricka station. We tried a few items from the menu and all were great! The staff is nice. Definitely recommended if you would like to try some local food. Also it is the same great quality as it was when we first tried a few years ago. Bryndzové halušky is a must :)

Good restaurant, had traditional food. We only had only soup but was ok. The design is nice and the staff was good.

we didn't catch the train to Smokovec....so we found this cozy place at the train station.... Very nice staff, they also took care of our dog🙂👍

Very authentic restaurant with Slovakian cuisine and amazing views on Tatry Mountains. They have lots of big rooms and many tables, so you can easily find place for you even without reservation in advance. Menu includes variety of local food and drinks, I recommend to try Slovakian pierogi and homemade dessert which is very delicious! The only one disadvantage is that they don't have breakfast options, but working hours start from the early morning, so you can order any food for breakfast. The interior is very atmospheric with wood and decorations inside and outside, so this place suits for different occasions. Highly recommend to visit it while you're in Stary Smokovec!

Nice restaurant with local food and music in the heart of Stary Smokovec. Waiters are polite and friendly and they all speak English. When you order it is good to bare in mind that the portions are huge especially if you would like to try their tasteful deserts :)

Delicious garlic soup. Soup with cabbage and sausages is very sour, but it's a traditional Slovak cuisine. Big potato pancake with meat and cheese is good. You can come here with a dog. Recommend

Great restaurant in Stary Smokovec. If you like traditional Slovak dishes like Bryndzové halušky or Brydzové pirohy there are few variations of them to chose from (e.g. pan-fried pirohy with mushrooms or sweet red cabbage). Food is fantastic, staff is really friendly and traditional decorations in the restaurant enhances the overall atmosphere and your overall experience - parking available for customers directly in front of the restaurant.

Very nice atmosphere, stuff has nice folk clothes. The waiters and the host are very nice, food was served fast, but the potato Pancakes were too salted and had too much garlic...( A little bit expensive though comparing to usual restaurants prices In Slovakia but I guess in this highly touristic area these prices are expected and normal

We booked this for three days but decided to stay for one night only. The place was nice, good friendly staff and we liked the food. Our problem came because we were staying in the shared accommodation which we didn't realise is in the bar. They put a mattress on the table and you sleep there. You cannot sleep until all lights and music is turned off at 10 which wasn't made clear on the website. So we were looking to relax after a long days travel and wasn't able to do that. Plus there are no showers so again staying for more than one night is not ideal for us. I would recommend this place if you want to get up early and hike to see the sunset but not if you want to relax for a long stay. They had a privet room which was booked but still no shower for them.

Mountain shelter where you can rest before you go any further into higher mountains. Good food, good beer and beautifully views around.

it’s not stated anywhere that when you book a bed in the common room it means you will be sleeping on a table in the dining room. and the only private room here was quite dirty. it wasn’t cleaned properly after the previous residents (see photo) the administration had troubles receiving our payment (we sent it and it was frozen by their bank but they didn’t address support and requested we pay double, in cash) update: when we asked to clean up the room, the staff were really apologetic, they cleaned the room very quickly and offered us a bottle of prosecco for free
