What our travelers says:

2 years ago Nick Sexplained best how he liked it:

A couple of service hiccups aside, the quality of food is about as low as it gets in Japan, especially considering the price. You'd be better off going to Saizeriya or Jonathan's as at least the portions match the pictures. The only saving grace is the bread, which is actually pretty average.

2 years ago Daria Yaroshenkohow did he rate it?

for foreigners there is a menu in English, everything is convenient and not intrusive. The meat in wine is beyond praise, the salad let us down a little. There is a bar counter and bread lovers will not refuse different buns)

6 years ago Justin Holstisaid the following about this gem:

Three of our guests ordered the steak set, all three were undercooked. The cast iron block they provide to continue cooking your meat wasn’t hot enough to cook. As someone said previously, “it’s pretty expensive just to eat bread.”

2 months ago Jose Jameloexplained best how he liked it:

For the weary traveller. Excellent food location after a day in Enoshima, especially during the winter. The garlic broth ramen was amazing, the flavour was just right and not overpowering. Surpised not alot of people talk more about this ramen place. My family really enjoyed the dinner, especially my mother who loves ramen. The ambience is wonderful, and overall it is very welcoming. I hope to come back here again in the future.

11 months ago Nik Blachsaid the following about this gem:

Really excellent bowl of ramen. Get the 2 or 3, which both are heavy garlic ramen. I had to come back here because of the unique taste. No other place hits quite the same for me. The gyoza is really nice here too. Staff is great and accommodating. It's on a very busy strip in Enoshima with lots of shops nearby.

1 year ago Noah Weyd: it is necessary to add to this place:

I came here a few times already, and it's been really delicious every time! So far I tried the Miso Ramen, Tsukemen, and Soy-Sauce Ramen. All of them are really good. Only one time, it had a little bit too much of garlic. Otherwise, I can really recommend going here. Also, very friendly owner and staff. It's always fun to have a small conversation while getting a cold beer!! If you're in the area and feel like eating ramen, it's definitely worth checking out.

1 year ago Thia Triggs- why does he think this place is on the list?

I had the basic Ramen ¥850, I have to say this is the best Ramen I’ve had in Japan in the 3 1/2 weeks I’ve been here. Very authentic atmosphere, only locals here now. As an English speaker, I needed Google Translate to use the ticket machine to order.

Pretty good for what it is

4 months ago タケRdescribed this experience as follows:

[Update] I ordered the limited-edition "Kaki Chapon" (two oysters) with jjigae flavor for ¥1,190. It was hot, just the right amount of spicy, and delicious! While Ringer Hut's basic menu items feel reasonably priced, the limited-edition menu items feel a bit pricey... Ringer Hut is located just a few minutes' walk from the south exit of Fujisawa Station. The restaurant is small, with half of it being counter seating for solo diners. The seating is close, so if it's crowded, you'll be close enough to splash soup on you. I ordered the "Hokkaido Corn Butter Miso Champon" (noodles ¥200, ¥1,280), which I'd decided to try after seeing an advertisement. Since it wasn't crowded, it wasn't long before it was served. Around this time of year, I crave corn champon. The flavor and volume are consistent at Ringer Hut, and what I love about Ringer Hut is that it stays piping hot (enough to burn you) until the very end. Thank you for the meal.

Curry tastes good! A lot of ingredients to choose from. They have lunch set too where u can add a mini rice bowl to your udon at half the original price of the rice bowl! The udon is Sanuki udon and it would be great if they have Inawari udon. Ordered Wafu udon (comes with chicken and vege) and loved the ingredients used. ¥820.

What our travelers says:

10 months ago Apple Start English Centerhow did he rate it?

My family and I came across this place while visiting the area during Golden Week. I read other reviews and I really don’t know why anyone would give this place anything lower than 5 stars. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The food was amazing. The sauce for the pizza was fresh, not canned. The food came quickly despite it being Golden Week and the place was packed. I wish this place was in Toyama so I could visit it more often. I highly recommend this place. I seriously would eat there on a regular basis if I lived in the area.

8 months ago Wet Sofa: it is necessary to add to this place:

Had PICO in Enoshima for dinner to see how the Italian cuisine would be compared to other places. The white pizza came in very thin slices, and can be shareable or easily eaten by one person. The pizza had a good dough and crust, but the toppings did not have much flavor, and you could not taste much cheese, so it tasted more like eating a flat bread like naan than a slice of pizza. The pasta with red sauce was good. The noodles were al dente and the red sauce complimented it well. The dining area inside was clean and the staff were friendly.

6 months ago MAevaluates this place as follows:

Service was good, staff were friendly. Pizza felt wet very mediocre. Kinda pricy. Moscow mule came with no alcohol. Would not go again.

5 mins walk from Enoshima station. Food is great. You might need to wait a bit during peak hours on holidays. The staff was welcoming. Margherita pizza with buffalo mozzarella cheese & Shirasu(whitebait) pasta were delicious.

5. place - Zazamaru

Zazamaru
We rate the place at 8.2/10!. This place was visited and rated 580-times

What our travelers says:

1 month ago Amy Truong- why does he think this place is on the list?

We picked the first place that was available and Zazamaru was it. The staff were friendly and we were able to snag a patio table outside despite it being windy. We ordered the grilled turbot, which was presented beautifully and tasted great. Clams were on the salty side with their sake sauce, but still tasty. The chicken cooked tuna rice bowl was a hefty portion and delicious. Credit cards accepted.

9 months ago X Panhow did he rate it?

It’s like stopping at the first gas station after a long drive—only to realize there were way better (and cheaper) options just a little further down the road. This spot is very average in every way: food, atmosphere, and even the service, which felt below par. just walk a bit more—you’ll likely find something better right next door.

Best yuzu udon! The baradon(pork bowl) is delicious too! There is parking across the street, but be sure to bring your parking ticket to get 1 free hour of parking! Get there close to opening time or you will have to wait!

1 month ago すぴかexplained best how he liked it:

The bara donburi bowl was incredibly delicious (the photo shows a half bowl). I ordered the half bara donburi set, which included tanuki udon noodles topped with wakame seaweed. As you can see from the photo, it was surprisingly generous, even though it was half-sized. It was simply pork belly stir-fried in a sweet soy sauce sauce and placed on top of shredded cabbage, but the pork belly was thick yet tender, and it was an undeniably delicious experience. The sauce was sold in-store. A large mayonnaise was handed to me over the counter, so it was great to add some to your bowl. The udon noodles had a nice firmness, and the fairly light broth was a perfect match for the bara donburi. Next time, I'd like to try bara salt! There was a towel placed right next to the stove, so please be careful of fire.

2 weeks ago 侍いだーwrote only this for this place:

I stopped by for work. It seems to be a popular restaurant. They had a lunch set, so I ordered a half-salted pork belly, rice, and udon set. The regular size seemed to be a good portion. The salted pork belly and udon were very delicious. I'd like to come back again.

3 months ago ひろひろevaluates this place as follows:

This was my first visit in about 10 years. I arrived at 11:00 a.m. when they opened. I parked in the parking lot across the street. If you dine here, you can receive 60 minutes of complimentary parking if you present your parking ticket at the checkout. There's a sign at the entrance to the parking lot to that effect. The restaurant has about eight counter seats and two four-person tables. I ordered the lunch set of bara donburi and half tanuki udon. The udon came first, and the bara donburi came shortly after. The bara donburi tasted just like I remembered it from my previous meal. The sweet and spicy sauce with a hint of sesame and a generous serving of mayonnaise made it incredibly delicious. I remember the pork belly being thinner before, but this was just the right thickness and satisfying. The udon was chewy and delicious, but the broth felt thinner than before. I feel like it had more of a bonito broth flavor... The service was polite, but the staff chatted a lot, which might bother some.

4 months ago sega1- why does he think this place is on the list?

First time here! The udon and barashio (salted rice) were delicious. 😄 There's a Times counter right in front of the restaurant, and apparently you can get a discount ticket if you eat there. 😄 Don't park at other stores like 7-Eleven or Create. 🫡

Five stars Iekei Ramen around Fujisawa city(commented by University student).

6 months ago おのまめし: it is necessary to add to this place:

I went to Fujisawaya, located on the former site of Matsuriya, the legendary ramen shop that surpasses Atsugiya. The kitchen is exactly like Matsuriya, but with only two staff members and no space to queue, it feels a little small, but it reminds me of Matsuriya and makes me emotional. The ramen tastes different from Matsuriya, but the soy sauce is strong and the vinegar goes really well with it. I definitely recommend adding a lot of vinegar to the soup at the end so you can finish it all. Personally, I was happy to see garlic chips, which made me think it was Matsuriya. I wonder what the female owner of Matsuriya is doing now, I want to try her ramen.

4 months ago daisuke Mochizukiexplained best how he liked it:

I thought I'd covered most of the famous Iekei ramen shops in Kanagawa, but I recently discovered this one while doing some research. It's not exactly easy to get to for me, living in Shizuoka Prefecture, but I incorporated it into my Kanagawa record store tour and made my first visit. I ordered the medium-sized char siu ramen with onion topping, firm noodles, and a medium-sized rice. It was delicious. I should have eaten it sooner. The soy sauce flavor is quite strong, close to the original Iekei style. Due to my record store visit and the location, I arrived around 3:30 PM on a Sunday. There was one other customer, but more and more customers came in after me. I could really feel its popularity. The shop's previous incarnation was also an Iekei ramen shop, so it's quite old. As a solo male customer, I didn't mind, but some people might be bothered by that. The fact that it's not in a highly competitive area like Yokohama, Kawasaki, Sagamihara, or Atsugi, and that it's located away from the main shopping district in Fujisawa City, seems to be influencing its level of recognition. It deserves to be more widely known. However, the fact that such a renowned restaurant exists even in such a region is something unique to Kanagawa, the kingdom of Iekei ramen.

5 months ago ひろともdescribed this experience as follows:

I went there for the first time in five years. It was just before noon on the 13th. Previously, I thought the soup was thick and a little salty. But I couldn't taste the soy sauce or pork bone flavor. Was it a sour soup? Was it the soup of a local ramen shop? What do you think, repeat customers? Or is it just me? Oh, it's a shame. 😞 I'll never go there again.

2. place - Fujiyasu Shokudo

Fujiyasu Shokudo
Definitely deserves 8.4/10!. This place was visited and rated 682-times

What our travelers says:

8 months ago Kenjiro Ywrote only this about this place:

Felt very "authentic." Restaurant was full with what looked like locals and store was definitely a mom and pop shop. 1500 yen for a special kaisen don. I wasn't totally surprised by the food. Maybe it was quality and I just couldn't appreciate it. The fish market underneath which I presume they run was full with once again, local looking people. So 5 star for the atmosphere and price. Update 7/4/2025 - Is it just me or the orders seem smaller now. I tried the fujiyasu don and tokujyou don and I definitely recommend paying the extra for the tokujyou don. The fujiyasu has a raw egg but the quantity and the wow factor is not there. I'm still giving it a 4 star because I like the vibe of this hidden treasure.

7 years ago phcachevdescribed this experience as follows:

even though people make lines in front of the store, it will take only a few minutes to get in. Once in the store and if you feel hungry, you should tell them “Tairyo-mori”!! the additional 200 yen will make you happier than ever!!

Il Chianti Cafe Enoshima

What our travelers says:

3 months ago Mark Diegoevaluates this place as follows:

Il Chianti Café in Enoshima is an absolute gem and a must-visit when exploring the island. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, relaxed atmosphere that perfectly matches the coastal vibe of Enoshima. The ocean views alone are worth the visit, especially if you’re lucky enough to get a window seat. The food was outstanding. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Service was friendly, attentive, and efficient without ever feeling rushed. The staff made us feel genuinely welcome and were happy to offer recommendations. Whether you’re stopping in after sightseeing, enjoying a sunset meal, or simply looking for a great Italian café by the sea, Il Chianti Café delivers on all fronts. Delicious food, stunning views, and a memorable atmosphere, I can’t wait to come back.

2 months ago Jen Polarexplained best how he liked it:

This is one of the best italian Restaurants I have been in the area. The garlic, tomate sauce, the mushrooms, the balsamico dressing~ i enjoyed every part of the meal. And as its next to the candle on enoshima Island, its a comfortable place to take a break and eat soemthing delicious with a nice view. The staff was also very nice and helped us navigate through the ordering-app. Its a bit complicated at there is no way to delete the dish after you put it on the order-list.

1 month ago kany katewhat can I say about this place?

The cafe is located at a viewpoint at the island. It's a cafe with a great atmosphere, not too hot in the evenings. The food ok,the prices might be a little high, but the service is excellent👍

9 months ago Laluwhat can I say about this place?

Great place to enjoy enoshima view from up the mountain. You can see directly to the sea in the terrace. However you have to wait a bit long for the place to be available. It can be helped since many people visit the island daily. At that time we waited for around 50 minutes. we had vegetarian pizza and long potato menu. The pizza is so good. Juicy and crunchy. I particularly like the avocado on top of the pizza. The long potato is very tasty and crunchy also. The staff are kind. You can pay cashless by card, or qr code application such as paypay. The menu however a bit expensive due to the location.

3 months ago Kevin Tsaid the following about this gem:

Really good food but man they didn’t let me go back inside when I told them I was cold. They had plenty of empty seats inside. Also, I didn’t realize the culture in Japan was to beckon them over and say “sumimasen” when you are ready to order. I guess that rule applies even to pseudo-Italian restaurants with waterfront dining.
