The food is really good in terms of the portion, seasoning and of course, the price! Unfortunately the most of menu are meats, I wish they can offer more varieties for seafood and vegetarian. Otherwise there’s only one salad option for vegetarian. Their signature dish is the beef soup. I can see everyone orders the soup. It’s quite unique because it’s light soup, emphasising the beef broth instead of using the butter or flour to make it thick My salmon is average but I like the face that they serve with a lot of sauerkraut The signature desert is a bit weird though. Doesn’t taste like sponge cake, very solid. But I love my chocolate cream a lot, very thick and creamy like melting from a whole chocolate brick. The restaurant is beautiful but the downside is the tiny space between each table, not comfortable and also the service is quite busy, didn’t really show any friendliness but I appreciate they are very efficient and professional I’ll definitely come back but I hope I would have more options for non-meat

2 months ago Hanieh Ashrafkoochakwhat can I say about this place?

It was really nice place, not amazing but good food. I was expecting a bit more meat on there special but that make sense because of the price. So i had to order another dish to get full. Its the place youre gonna eat food like your grandma food and it feels so local but its not something extra ordinary. Its really normal and local please. Overall was good, the servers were really active and nice even with the crowd, i didnt wait long for anything.

Tuesday, 23 December 2025 at 17H Leeks with hazelnut vinaigrette: 3,90 € Salmon sauerkraut, beurre blanc: 14 € Dessert Julien, rum and raisin: 4,90 € Food: 3/5 Good. The leeks were quite tough and fibrous. I found them difficult to cut with the provided cutlery. The salmon and sauerkraut were delicious. I was delightfully surprised by the taste combination. I found the dessert Julian to be quite dry, and any hint of rum or raisin flavors were too smothered in chocolate. Service: 4/5 Very Good. The servers were polite and professional. However, I did not appreciate that I was assumptively given an English menu. Yes, I have a strong English accent when I speak French, but I read and speak French fluently. I prefer to be asked, rather than just given. I would have preferred a French menu. Ambience: 5/5 Excellent. The beautifully restored and elaborate Art Nouveau interior design is worth a visit. The woodwork has scrolling vines that bloom into délicate flowers. It truly captures the dining essence of 1890s Paris. An architectural gem! Cleanliness: 5/5 Excellent. The tables and floors were clean and presentable. Value: 4/5 Very Good. I was satisfied by the quantity of food, but the quality could improve. I know many people would disagree because of the low pricing but I have eaten better for a similar price in the tourist Latin Quarter or in working neighborhood of Ménilmontant. I was satisfied but not delighted. Overall: 4.2/5 Very Good. This is a respectable boullion establishment that everyone should try at least once. Perhaps I was just unlucky with my starter and dessert? I am open to returning again if I selected something different. However, for now, I sadly cannot say this is a new favorite restaurant to add to my slowly growing list. I was so hopeful. Maybe next time.

A Timeless Parisian Experience at Bouillon Julien If you're looking for a truly Parisian dining experience, Bouillon Julien is an absolute gem. The interior is nothing short of breathtaking — ornate mirrors, intricate plasterwork, stained glass ceilings, and elegant murals create an atmosphere that feels both historic and romantic. It's like dining inside a work of art. The food was exactly what you'd hope for in a classic French bistro — authentic, comforting, and delicious. I ordered the escargots, which were perfectly cooked and served with a fragrant garlic and herb butter. Rich, flavorful, and so satisfying. I also had the French onion soup, which was incredibly tasty — deeply caramelized onions, a rich broth, and that perfect cheesy crouton topping. Simple dishes, done exactly right. On top of all this, the prices were very reasonable, especially considering the location, quality, and ambience. It's the kind of place where you can enjoy traditional French cuisine without breaking the bank. Whether you're a tourist looking for an iconic Parisian meal or a local wanting a reliable spot for comfort food, Bouillon Julien delivers on every level. Can’t recommend it enough.

2 months ago Donna Carrexplained best how he liked it:

Ate here on my final night in Paris. I learned about this spot on Pinterest, and decided to take a gamble on it. I definitely recommend making a reservation, as the line to get in was massive, and it was lovely to be able to bypass it. The decor is absolutely stunning! Pictures do not do it justice. The food is very affordable, so this is a wonderful option for luxe vibes on a tight budget.

I had a great time and would highly recommend. I went during the week with a friend and we had a wonderful experience and the movie was great too (Zootopia 2). I liked the fact that it was not too crowded and that we have the possibility to choose our places. Would highly recommend.

I went to UGC Bercy Cinema yesterday, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The surrounding area is vibrant and charming, making it a perfect spot for an evening out. Inside, the cinema is well-designed and welcoming, with comfortable seating and a cozy atmosphere. I was particularly impressed by how clean and well-kept everything was — especially the bathrooms, which were spotless. Overall, a fantastic place to enjoy a movie, with great vibes and excellent facilities. Highly recommended!

6 months ago ziqi mengevaluates this place as follows:

racist guy at the front door, ignoring our questions and mocking in English “if you’re in France speak French”. Apparently he speaks English, understands what we’re asking, but just won’t respond. English is also my second language not a mother tongue and it’s also not comfortable for me to use it. These days in France I have met countless people who speaks only French, but we can always find a way to communicate friendly. But when one has stereotypes, there’s no way to communicate even if you both speak the same language. Staff at the ticketing place are nice and helpful, using google translate to answer our questions. Thankful for them.

5 months ago Eric Jetnerwrote only this about this place:

We booked a table for 4 ppl. As soon as I arrived the table was ready and the host was very kind. The waiter came over. He was very nice and respectful. We ordered the Mezze Auteuil platter, then two streak tartare, one ceasar salad and one Bar Fish. The quality was good. And tasty. We got some Spritz Martinis and the large choice of flavor is very nice. For dessert we got the Cafe Gourmand, the chocolate Mousse and the Bachir ice cream. Everything was very good. It’s a bit pricy. 50 Euros/person. Unfortunately they ran out of bread in the middle of the service which is a bit unfortunate when you’re a Sunday and you get some mezze and steak tartares. Overall it was a great experience

Special mention to the staff who's very welcoming, friendly, and efficient, especially Emily ! Prices are reasonable too. Warm regards from Macedonians.

I had a great time at Auteuil Brasserie. The place has a stylish, warm atmosphere with a really inviting bar area and plenty of space to relax. The menu offers a nice selection of Mediterranean-inspired dishes, and everything we tried was flavorful and well presented. Service was friendly and reasonably quick, even though the restaurant was pretty busy. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but the overall experience makes it worth it. Definitely a spot I’d come back to for a casual night out or drinks with friends.

Lovely place, decoration, people and service. Expected the food a little better. It's trying to be gourmet but to get a Burrata with zero fresh tomato, only the burrata is a little strange. How do you eat it? With bread?

Came here without a reservation for a table for one on a busy Saturday afternoon! Was seated with no problem outside. The service was very quick and polite. They speak English and French which is always appreciated. Very busy outside, inside has a lot of nice seating. Probably really great local spot for dinner. I had the burrata which was SUPPLE. So big I couldn't finish it!

6 months ago Bilal Yedriwhat can I say about this place?

I was invited by a family member to have dinner at Le Paradis du Fruit in Paris. From the name, you might expect a smoothie or fruit-salad bar, but it’s actually a full-service restaurant. The space is pleasant, though the tables and chairs feel a bit tight and close together. We had to wait about 20 minutes before our order was taken, but once we ordered, the food arrived quickly. The menu works almost like a buffet concept, where you can mix and match small dishes to create your main meal. Their fresh smoothies are a highlight—really tasty and refreshing. Overall, the food was decent and nothing overly fancy—a casual, normal restaurant with a relaxed vibe. Great for a simple meal if you’re nearby.

3 months ago Jade Tarraf- why does he think this place is on the list?

Paradis du Fruit is my go-to for a night dessert or drink. We usually come in big groups and always find a place to sit. The waiters are always very helpful and friendly and can recommend you dishes/desserts according to your preferences. Paradis du Fruit has many prime locations, so if you're around Champs-Elysees or even near Saint-Michel don't miss out on it!

Absolutely fantastic meal. Easily the best food I had on my Paris trip. The mushroom velouté was rich and comforting, the roasted leeks beautifully done, and the salmon was perfectly cooked with crisp skin and great flavour. The crème brûlée was classic, with a perfect caramelised top. Service was excellent throughout—professional, attentive, and efficient without being rushed.

I had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. Every dish felt carefully thought through – from the starters to the dessert, the flavors were rich, balanced, and beautifully presented. You can really tell that fresh, high-quality ingredients were used. The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful with recommendations, making sure everything went smoothly. The atmosphere was inviting and perfect for both a casual meal and a special occasion. It’s rare to find a place that combines amazing food, great service, and a comfortable setting so perfectly, but this restaurant really does. I will definitely be coming back!

5 months ago Langer Lee- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

An unforgettable evening at a true Parisian institution! Stepping into La Coupole is like walking back in time to the glamorous Roaring Twenties. The grand Art Deco dining hall is absolutely magnificent, buzzing with an energy that is both elegant and historic. It is the quintessential Parisian brasserie experience from the moment you arrive. We dove into the menu by ordering a few classics, and each was a testament to French culinary tradition. The seafood platter was a highlight—the oysters were impeccably fresh with a clean, briny flavor, and the whelks were tender and delicious. The French onion soup was perfection in a bowl; a deeply rich, savory broth hidden beneath a glorious, bubbly cap of perfectly browned Gruyère cheese. We also savored the foie gras, which was silky and decadent, beautifully paired with a fruit compote. Even the quality of the bread and the accompanying Charentes-Poitou butter spoke volumes about their commitment to quality. For the main course, we had the pan-seared sea bass served over orzo. The skin was wonderfully crisped and offered a fantastic texture. While the fish itself was a little drier than I would have preferred, this minor point was easily overlooked when enjoyed with the incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked orzo it rested upon. Overall, the experience was absolutely 5-star. The service was professional and attentive, and the atmosphere is simply unmatched. Dining at La Coupole is a must-do for anyone seeking to immerse themselves in the history, culture, and flavor of Paris.

2 months ago Margaret Helmus- why does he think this place is on the list?

We went for Christmas dinner and it was delightful. Christophe made sure our wine never ran out and was super attentive. We felt all the food was worth every penny spent. They also have a good wine list. I’d recommend starting with the caviar and a glass of champagne. The sea bass we had was something we will be talking about for years to come - absolutely delicious.

3 months ago David Stejkowskiexplained best how he liked it:

We had a wonderful experience here. We thought the food was excellent and the service prompt, efficient, and friendly. Some reviewers seem to forget that we are in a busy train station where some people have to eat quickly, while others can linger. We were lingerers, and we made sure our servers knew that from the beginning. With that mind, we had a wonderful meal that was presented beautifully and never felt either rushed or that the food was lacking in any way. Make sure the staff is aware of your expectations and you’ll have a magnificent meal. Try to arrive early for lunch so it feels a little less crowded.

2 months ago Hwelen Younghow did he rate it?

An elevated restaurant that you should visit at least once when you are in Paris! It was our fifth visit to Paris, and yet, it was our first time in Le Train Bleu. The restaurant is situated on the second floor of Gare de Lyon, Paris's central train station. We were here on our last day in Paris before we head home tonight. My husband ordered scallops and seabeam tartare for an appetizer, and grilled lamb legs for the main course. I ordered grilled octopus as an appetizer and skate wing as my main course. The Neapolitan rum baba was his dessert, and I had the fruit soufflé, which made me the happiest person on the planet. What I loved about the restaurant was that the staff were attentive and friendly. I could tell that they tried their best to make us happy and satisfied. A reservation is required to be seated in the perfectly decorated carriage-like room. I am glad I did it last October. Now, with our tummies full and minds rejuvenated, we are heading home!

2 months ago Martin Hodges-Jonesdescribed this experience as follows:

A beautiful experience at Le Train Bleu. I visited with friends while in Paris for a treat. A sublime restuarant decorated exquisitely in a La Belle Epoque style. Full of frescos and gold it really is a sight to be hold, The wait staff are dressed beautifully and we're looked after superbly. The food we ordered was perfectly portioned and tasted excellent. We ate the froi gras which was buttery and soft, the beef which was cooked superbly too your liking and finished with the cheese trolley which was exceptional. We all left feeling replete and happy.

2 months ago Zoé Gotti: it is necessary to add to this place:

The most breathtaking restaurant in Paris for setting. Located in the heart of Gare de Lyon, Le Train Bleu is a stunning restaurant and cafe where one can enjoy a traditional French déjeuner. They have a variety of dishes and succulent ingredients. The quality is wonderful and the value for money to preserve such a decor is worth it. They were able to accommodate our reservation for 3 last minute for the same day. Marvellous service as a waiter saw our coat got dusty from the floor and gave us delicious financiers and madeleine with Ferrero truffes.

What our travelers says:

2 months ago Will- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

We stopped in for afternoon tea. We waited for about 30 minutes outside in line. Not bad for how popular it is. We even managed to get a nice seat upstairs rather than in the crowded main area downstairs. I got the Cordon Bleu which was phenomenal. The crust was breading and some kind of seed mixture. She got the onion soup which was also really good. We finished with the Mon Blanc. She got regular which was less sweet. I got the caramel version which was great for a sweet tooth. The hot chocolate was great. But really thick. The waitress we had was really kind. Due to the number of people, we did have to wait a bit for everything. But overall it was great service. We really enjoyed our meal.

Great food, depending on how you dress the service may vary in how they treat you. We have been there before and we were treated very well utenviles carefully placed and had a chat with the waiter. Today not so much they just served the food and run of fast not even placed in front of you, it was like he was rushing to drop off things and move on. But would recommend the hot chocolate to anyone to try it 👍

1 month ago Marko Henigwrote only this about this place:

It was pleasant experience, club sandwiches were nice and sweets were also good. I don’t see why is there so long queue in front sometimes since they don’t have that special there, all in all it is nice fancy place. Prices are a little bit higher. 2 club sandwiches + 2 deserts + drinks were 100 euros.

2 months ago Ashia Bibievaluates this place as follows:

Oh my my what a dream! The hot chocolate was straight out of a fairytale. Delicious beyond description. It’s truly a peace of history. Absolute amazing pastry’s and our meal was delicious and satisfying. It was very genius to wake up early and go to Angelina first thing in the morning! We skipped the huge lines outsides people were waiting for hours to be seated at this iconic eatery. The restaurant staff was absolutely charming and welcoming. Over all a dreamy experience.

3 months ago James- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

Patience and a warm coat required in winter for the wait outside in the queue (for us, around 30 minutes on a Saturday afternoon). Their signature hot chocolate is worth it though. Tried the caramel mont blanc for a change and it was good - not too sickly sweet. Friend enjoyed the millefeuille. Waitstaff attentive and service order and delivery prompt - has to veto cater for the vast number of people waiting to be seated.

What our travelers says:

2 months ago Roplwhat can I say about this place?

As touristy as this place gets, myself included, most likely being the oldest continuous running restaurant in Paris since 1686 (that's 340 years) is what draws most of us in. Went in on New Year's Day around 3pm even with reservation this place was a mad house right at the entrance. Eventually after half an hour wait finally got a table. With at least 2 floors and many rooms, the place was busy. Was that because of its history OR New Year's Day or the combo, not sure? Anyway with low expectation of the food and expecting higher prices I actually came out enjoying the food. Braised beef cheek with parmesan ragatoni 28.50€ was very filling and delicious. The beef was fork tender and pasta al denté. Slightly pricey but not ridiculous given it's popularity and history. Service was as expected very French like though staff all seem to speak good enough English to deal with people like myself. They provided service prompt enough but not intrusive and pushing you out for the next dining group. The interior decor you won't be able to tell it's 400+years old (not sure if it's always at the same location) and I'm sure building in and out has been renovated over time. Overall very satisfied with the experience, the food, decor etc.

3 months ago Elena Castlewrote only this about this place:

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Le Procope, and as two history lovers, this place felt almost unreal. Dining in the same space once frequented by Napoleon, Marat, Chopin, and Voltaire ( and visited by Benjamin Franklin!) is an experience in itself, equal parts dinner and time travel. Walking around the restaurant, admiring the historical artifacts, was genuinely thrilling. We leaned into the spirit of the place and ordered what’s advertised as the revolutionaries’ favorite champagne: the 2016 Champagne Jacquart Blanc de Blancs - absolutely delicious and perfectly celebratory. For starters, we had the classic onion soup and a soft-boiled egg with mushrooms, both light, comforting, and beautifully done. For mains, I chose the Revolutionaries’ Beef Tenderloin, while my husband went with the Angus Beef Steak. Both were flavorful and satisfying, served with excellent sides-au gratin potatoes for me and French fries for him. Dessert sealed the deal: artisan ice cream and pavlova, light and indulgent in the best way. The service truly elevated the evening. A special shout-out to Schuman and Arnold, who made our anniversary feel genuinely special. From the warm welcome at the door (including coat service and a wonderful table by the window) to the friendly goodbye as we left, every staff member was gracious and attentive. History, great food, wonderful service- Le Procope isn’t just a meal, it’s an experience. An unforgettable way to celebrate a milestone.

Excellent spot for dinner. It gets very busy and seems like a tourist trap but actually it was wonderful. This was recommended to us by some locals. We hadn’t booked but after a quick 10 min drink at the bar, we were promptly seated. The decor was stunning and I loved the history of this place. Finally tried the snails. The mains were divine and full of flavour. And we really didn’t need dessert but could resist. Would recommend!

2 months ago Daniela Carvalho Meirawhat can I say about this place?

I can only recommend this restaurant! We reserved a table for 21:45 and, as soon as we presented ourselves at the reception, we were seated immediately. The restaurant is impressive from the start, truly beautiful and very historic. The waiters were kind and nice, and the food was really delicious. I tried my first coq au vin and it was amazing! But I would really like to point out the professionalism of the waiters when we ordered a bottle of wine, tried it and, after a while, informed them that we actually didn’t like that wine so much. They brought us an alternative that we liked a lot and changed our bottle at no cost. I had never seen a situation like this being handled so nicely in my life. I truly got the feeling that they wanted us to have the best experience possible there. So a big shout-out to the team. I definitely recommend it and would come back again!

With the understanding it's tough to get a bad meal in Paris, what Le Procope offers is exceptional. Even though we arrived early for our reservation, we were seated right away. The waitstaff are clearly held to a very high standard, and they meet it smoothly and efficiently. And the food? Beyond words. The soups were comfort food scaled up. The scallops were perfectly pan seared, and nestled in a bed of creamy, luscious, exactly al dente parmesan risotto. The floating island for dessert was airy and light, with a beautiful caramel drizzle and a bright crunch from pink pralines. If you have an evening to spend in Paris, dinner at Le Procope is an excellent way to spend your time!

Recently added lots of famous paintings recreated in Lego style, fun and engaging for kids and adults. Christmas decorations brought extra magic (though could’ve been more elaborate in my opinion). FOOD Diverse restaurants and cafes offering semi fancy and casual bites—enjoyed meals in the festive atmosphere. SERVICE Staff in shops and eateries were friendly and helpful. PRICES Varied and reasonable for the variety and location. This place was such a great experience! The food is good for the price but the best part is the atmosphere. Be prepared to queue but it does move quickly, especially of you avoid the busier times. Service is also quick and no fuss, don't expect to be waited on. You will be sat with others at a table if you're a smaller party, but that's part of the fun. It's more of an experience than a meal that you sit and take your time over. We came here on our first night and it was a wonderful start to our trip.

2 months ago Jasmine C- why does he think this place is on the list?

I would rate this overall 4.5/5 if I could. I went here twice in a span of three days. This restaurant opens very late, we arrived at 10pm and there was a queue but it moved gradually. The food was definitely on the more affordable side, with main dishes ranging from €9-€12.50, starters, cheese and dessert were all inexpensive too, additionally they give you a bread basket too. We enjoyed the steak, duck breast, pork snout, duck confit and cheeses. The calf's head was on the fattier side and the beef stew was a little dry in some places, still good though. As the restaurant was packed we had to share the table with another couple, which was fine but something to note. The wine is cheap and cheerful too. The service was on the slower side, due to amount of tables but was fine if you didn't mind having a good time with the meal! The waiters we had were nice, and was multilingual, speaking English to us and Spanish to the couple next door. Overall, good place for affordable food in Paris with a great atmosphere.

3 months ago Sena Korkutexplained best how he liked it:

We arrived around 6:00 pm, and the line was not very long, so we did not have to wait too much. About an hour later, the line became much longer and very busy, so we were happy we came early. The service was very fast, which was nice. However, when we tried to order from the menu, several items were not available. The food was good, but the taste was nothing special or memorable. The prices are not high, so it can be considered good value for money. Overall, it reminded me of food you might find at a good university catering or dining hall. It was fine for a quick meal, especially for the price, but not something I would go out of my way for.

Very nice French atmosphere. You can feel the good old days as soon as you walk into the place. We love the food. You can really taste the pork in pork terrines. The chicken tastes like the ones i had in grandma’s place many years ago. The portions are smaller, but perfect for us…

2 months ago Nilsdescribed this experience as follows:

Very unique lunch/dinner experience in Paris. The vibe is mostly like “fancy school cafeteria”. The interior architecture is beautiful. The seating is tiny but cozy. You’ll bump into each other’s elbows while eating. The food was tasty, and the portions were fair. Pricing is fair for the food to taste and quality ratio.
