We came across this restaurant as this was open on Monday in Pistoia. It was very busy at 10pm but the staff managed to accommodate eight of us. Excellent food & service. I believe it's a family run business. Dont expect a menu in English nor staff spoke but we communicated with the help of Google translate. We enjoyed the seafood spaghetti and pasta with the local red wine. Overall a reasonably priced good Italian restaurant should not me missed in the area.

Very memorable experience! They have the classics but the gourmet pizzas are the ones you should go for. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients. Definitely worth a visit!

Best pizza in town!!! So so good!!! You have to reserve they are always full! Desert is also good! Loved it here and the price is really ok!!

Great Napoli style pizzas served at an authentic Italian roundabout with scooters and cars all around.

Classic less usual pizzas, with a choice of a Romana or Napoli style base. I chose Napoli, as did most diners, and was served the best pizza I've had in Italy for some time, with a super slightly charred risen rim and a perfect base. Accompanied by a beer from an interesting list, plus water and coffee 23 euros. There were cheaper classic pizzas than my Sapori del Sud.

Great restaurant. We were an extended family group and they were lovely to the toddler and helpful with the dietary requirements. The food is excellent, I had the tagliata but next time I’m having trippa!

I came back to Pistoia only for La Bottegaia‘s eggplant parmigiana - a vegetarian masterpiece. It’s honestly one of the best dishes I’ve ever had and worth a trip to Tuscany!

Excellent restaurant. We ate a delicious and perfectly cooked Fiorentina, accompanied by a lovely bottle of red wine. All the other food sounded great too. The waiters and owner/chef were very friendly and helpful. The chef knows his business as he chose to serve incredibly grassy olive oil from Sardinia rather than Tuscany. Good value for money too. Grazie!

Nice vibe, fine menu, veg options, Gentle service, cozy. I got a fast lunch, I have been delighted from a Asparagus pie with parmigiano muss, rostead potatoes and work wild erbs... The taste was nice balanced, the veggies fresh and the service fast. Racomanded

Upscale burger place that serves local beef in a semi fast food setting. When its busy (and it usually is!) You will wait a while. Thats Italy though and the wait is worth it. They even have a menu in English! There are alternatives like chicken and there is a fish place next door but havent tried it yet.

The one and only place where you can eat an original Tuscan Burger , the method of ordering the food is really simple , you can make your own burger Really awesome I go there to eat with pleasure 💜

The food was really amazing! Unique items on the menu which make me want to come multiple times to try everything. Service is really good but not all waiters speak English. We asked for a dessert menu but didn't get it. The restaurant self was beautiful but a bit loud because of all the people. Other than that it was amazing!

Absolutely DELICIOUS! Our Airbnb host suggested this and we are so happy we tried. The “sushi” was so unique and totally amazing. The flavors were delicious together and I wish I could have tried all 4 rolls. We also got a delicious pizza with thicker crust. I wish I recalled the name but I didn’t write it down! The pistachio with dried tomatoes and burrata cheese was to die for! I’m sure I will crave it for months to come. The cannolis were a nice treat but we could have skipped them. Service was great and the offered menus in Italian and English. They suggest reservations. We went early ,7:30 pm, and were able to get a table outside but the filled up after that.

Wow, amazing pizza! I don't think I have to say more. It would be an idea to add some sound dampening though because there is quite a lot of echo.

Excellent food and really good service. The restaurant does special offers throughout the week and as it was Sunday we did the Toscana Starter, pizza and a drink for a very reasonable €15. The pizza was really good, I can highly recommend the spicy pizza with the nduja sausage meat. The whole family really enjoyed it. Highly Recommended.

My go-to pizzeria! Both owners Camellia & Lapo are incredibly friendly and always make you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door. The atmosphere is cozy, and you can tell that a lot of love and care goes into everything they do. I absolutely love their pizza with melanzane (eggplant) and extra mozzarella—it's so deliciously cheesy and full of flavor! Although this combination isn’t on the menu, they’re more than happy to customize it to suit your taste, which really adds a personal touch. They’re pretty busy during the weekends, best to book a table. Whether you're craving a classic Margherita or something unique, this place never disappoints. Highly recommend !!

Great pizza and service. Away from the city center you'll find Lo Scimpanze, hosted by Camilla and Chef Owner Lapo, both were very friendly. I had a truffle mortadella pizza that was delicious. This is a very thin crust with high quality ingredients. Once the initial flavors of the generous portion of truffle mortadella subsided, a super creamy flavor of the Mozzarella came through. The forest berry panacotta was just the right choice for dessert. I even ordered a 4 cheese to go for breakfast, yes breakfast, with an egg on top, breakfast of champions my friends, lol.

Great place, affordable prices, REALLY good pizza (and desserts! ==> sorbetto lemone was amazing). We came two times and would come back again if we visit Pistoia.

Pizza and Calzone are amazing and we really enjoyed eating there. Eventhough the lady didn't know much English it was really easy to comunicate and spend good time!

This was our first visit at this lovely restaurant. I booked about a month before the Valentine Day via. Whatsapp and they responded to my request fairly quick. We received a very warm welcome from the owner upon arrival. He gave us the "classic" tour described by many reviewers. He also presented my wife a beautiful rose for the Valentine Day. We ordered the Valentine Special which I believe is the regular Florentine set dinner but with the special "heart"/Valentine theme (see photo). I also ordered a bottle of Ferrari champaign which was priced very reasonable. We truly enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere of restaurant. They helped us taking our photos, we sat on the Vespa scooter,...all the tourist activities. It was a very memorable evening. Highly recommended and will visit again!

We came from Rome for the wee with friend and children. Everything good, I haven’t tried wines. Very good service, nice ambience. I give 4 out of 5 as I found “contorni” too salty.

We booked months in advance as we were recommended this for a traditional tuscan steak - we were not disappointed! Very helpful team, who went above to welcome us, especially the kids! Food was incredible, with great selection of wines. Thank you!

Stopped by our last night in Italy in June and were greeted by pleasant staff and an owner that seemed larger than life. The appetizers alone were worth the price of admission. When it came to the steak, it's been quite a while since we've had anything quite so mouth-watering.

An institution for Pistoia. Sandwiches and focaccine are amazing since years and years. Friendly staff. Every time busy and crowdy. So much choice for food and drink. Never disappointed even after decades! I recommend a visit just to try that wonderful food.

Fresh food, fast service. You order at the counters and pay after you eat. You can take out as well. Great coffee. Schiacciata is delicious :)

Wonderful find on our trip down from Milan to Tuscany. Had an early dinner..._at least by Italian standards. First in at 8pm and had the place to ourselves for the first 1/2 hour. Lovely cozy outside seating area with 8 tables. Got in with no reservations which was fortunate for us as by the time we left all tables were full. Not a vegetarian restaurant but they have great vegan and vegetarian plate options which we had. Had a farm fresh salad and other prepared items that were a treat to the taste buds. Highly recommended!

Very nice and quiet location. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. Food instead was quite poor, hamburger not very tasty, the bun bread probably from a supermarket and chips very soggy and oily. As well I did not understand having 2 different type of background music across the venue.

This cute little restaurant was a fantastic pick on our first night in Tuscany. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. Simple, fresh and tasty!! Try the truffle pasta with a bottle of local wine.

Great rustic atmosphere and food, highly recommend to try some traditional Tuscan food, great house red wine. Supreme meat quality and friendly stuff. Added plus was the fantastic decor of the locanda!
