3 years ago Don Futaba- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

Visited this place for the first time in a long time. It was quite nice. Partitions and gloves for the salad bar area, they have preventative measures for corona virus. They have a one time use salad bar, which was pretty well stocked. Steak selection was also quite good. Parking is sufficiently plentiful. Be careful to turn in off of the large street. Oh, the two servers were quite friendly too.

We had lunch here on a group bus tour. Since it was lunch on a bus tour, I didn't have high expectations, but the salad bar had a wide variety, including dishes made with Ibaraki specialties, so many that I couldn't finish it all, and it was delicious. They replenished it as soon as it ran out. You can choose between large, medium, and small rice for the steak bowl, and the small was satisfying. There was also dessert and tea, so I was full. The staff were also very polite and nice. They even saw me off in the light rain. I was very satisfied. It was delicious~

5 months ago Mai Twhat can I say about this place?

I visited for a weekday lunch! I ordered the premium Ibaraki Hitachi Beef Steak Bowl and salad bar set (soup, salad bar, and dessert). It was absolutely delicious!! The salad bar's vegetables were carefully selected and had a wide variety of side dishes. They were fresh and delicious. Since Halloween is just around the corner, it was fun to try different pumpkins! 🎃 The Hitachi Beef Steak Bowl was made with well-marbled beef and was incredibly rich and delicious! The dessert that came with the salad bar was Shine Muscat grapes, mizu yokan, and crème brûlée! It was also delicious! I was very satisfied and would definitely like to return.

Steak Bowl Thinly sliced steaks are neatly arranged on top of the bowl, creating a visually appealing dish. The tender meat unfolds with each bite. The green onions on top add a nice accent, leaving a refreshing aftertaste. The sauce and rice pair perfectly, ensuring you won't tire of the dish until the very end. This steak bowl is a delight to both look at and savory.

I went there for lunch. Before the steak arrived, I was served fresh vegetables (salad bar) and delicious soup. I was very satisfied with both the salad bar and the steak! I would like to go again.

Wonderful dinner, with traditional Japanese cuisine.

Fantastic teppanyaki and great service. The Japanese garden is also very beautiful.

Very impressive authentic Japanese food. I think they hosted the G20 dinner.

2 months ago 小池楽wrote only this for this place:

I went there because it was my birthday month. The restaurant was quiet and relaxing. The sea bream carpaccio appetizer was delicious. The sweetness of the sea bream complemented the tartness of the dressing. The large steak and shiitake mushrooms were plump and chewy, and the restaurant's original miso was also delicious. 😋 For the main course, we shared the fillet and loin, which were so tender that they barely required chewing. There were three dipping sauces available, but I personally found the garlic soy sauce to be the best match for the sweetness of the meat. The soba pudding for dessert was a little firm, which was to my liking, and I was completely satisfied until the very end. 💯

Although they only offered four limited-time menu items, the staff were very lively and I liked it. 😊 However, several regulars and elderly customers 👴 were disappointed 😞 because they didn't know about the campaign.

5 months ago 南の楽園2what can I say about this place?

I ordered a shrimp loin cutlet bowl and a small pork miso soup. The pork miso soup had a decent amount of toppings and was average. The shrimp loin cutlet bowl was over-fried, and both the fried shrimp and the pork loin cutlet were hard. Since it's a pork loin cutlet bowl, you'd think they'd simmer it a little with an egg, but where's the beaten egg? It seems like they didn't even use half an egg.

3 months ago hiroki izanagihow did he rate it?

I was brought here for the first time by a relative. Perhaps because of the end-of-year sale, the regular menu was basically gone and only the sale menu was available, but the restaurant was bustling with customers enjoying katsudon, katsu set meals, and katsu curry (I forgot one more dish...4 dishes in total + some sides). I'm not really a fan of loin meat personally, but this was delicious. The meat was thick, so you could enjoy the crispy batter even in the katsudon. The pork soup was also a popular menu item, and I think they should upgrade to a large size. The real value of this visit lay in the customer service, handling, and movements of the dining staff, who appear to be veterans in the food and beverage industry. I'd give it 5 stars for that. I hope you will take good care of your manpower and serve them properly.

Every time I head to Mount Tsukuba, I find this soba restaurant on the way up to the trailhead by car. The "Jinenju" (Japanese yam) banner in front of the restaurant has always caught my eye, so I stopped in on my way back from enjoying the plum blossoms at the plum orchard. ◆What I Ordered ◯Yam Tofu Soba - ¥1,800 On this day, the restaurant opened at 12:00. There were already several groups in line, so I waited about 30 minutes, but there was plenty of seating available, so I was able to relax. The restaurant is set in a charming old-fashioned Japanese house. They don't share tables, so we were able to use the spacious tables, allowing for a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying a meal and conversation. With counter seating limited to one group per room and private rooms limited to two groups per room, the space was spacious and comfortable. Ordering was smooth and easy with the touchscreen. Some items were sold out, but the "Yam Tofu Soba" was still available. It turned out to be a great choice. First, I poured the sauce over the tofu and took a bite. It's smooth and rich, and dipping soba noodles in the soup is also delicious. The grated yam is also very sticky and has a powerful flavor. Try combining it with tofu, then with soba noodles, and finally adding the yam to the soba soup...it's absolutely delicious. This soba noodle really lets you taste the flavor of the buckwheat. The aroma spreads the moment you bite into it, and the subtle graininess that comes from being coarsely ground is also pleasant. The natural sweetness of the soba spreads gently in your mouth, and it has a presence that is just as impressive as the soup. The finished product makes you feel like you're really "eating" soba. To be honest, I haven't often truly thought soba was "delicious" before, but this time it was in a league of its own.

1 month ago 中村陽南explained best how he liked it:

[Order] ・Wild Yam Tofu Soba ・Wild Yam Fried Dumplings ・Chikuzen Seasonal Tempura Zaru Soba The dipping sauce is poured over tofu kneaded with wild yam, topped with a little grated yam, and soba noodles. Everything pairs perfectly together and is delicious. I never thought I'd be able to enjoy such luxurious wild yam, lol. The deep-fried wild yam has a rich, creamy texture. It's the best. The wild yam tofu soba is limited in quantity. I arrived around 3 PM and was able to order the last set! I was surprised by the amount of tempura in the tempura zaru soba. You can enjoy a variety of ingredients, including sweet potato, purple radish, several types of mushrooms, bell peppers, green peppers, and shrimp. ❤︎ It was a hearty meal, and I was very satisfied with the variety of options. The shop's atmosphere and calming aroma are also favorite points. [Store Information] Hours: 11:30-19:00 Closed: Mondays Address: 1441-1 Numata, Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture, 300-4353

What our travelers says:

1 month ago Noel Isidro- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

My wife and I were at their door around 11 am and hesitated a bit since we thought it was full and we are not yet comfortable with speaking Japanese. However, one of the staff came out and invited us in and she spoke English very well. We sat at one of the tables and had two very delicious bowls of ramen (one shoyu and one salt) and the staff also asked how we liked our pork (smoked or flame-grilled). We will definitely be coming back and bring our (grown-up) kids!

6 years ago Ddescribed this experience as follows:

My favorite lamen in Tsukuba. Must go. They have many options with affordable price (700-1000 yen). It is not English friendly but the staff help if you ask. They have different meat kinds, I recommend the smoked meat, I think it is smoked chasu (pork). I prefer the tsukemen (つけ麺) also.

3 months ago Shin Ishihara- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

It's rare to find a restaurant where you can choose from five different types of pork. Are the noodles homemade? They were delicious just as they were, and they were also delicious with salt! I ended up eating half the noodles, so I had no choice but to try them with tsukemen, which was also good! Next time, I'd like to try the vacuum-packed noodles. Thank you for the meal m(_ _)m

5 months ago えいちゃんevaluates this place as follows:

First visit on October 25, 2025 I arrived around 6 PM, so I was able to get in without a wait. I had the Nagoya Cochin chicken and vacuum-cooked soba noodles. Both were absolutely delicious. I forgot the name, but The char siu bowl (the owner's bowl?) was also delicious. 😋 The staff were all kind and accommodating, even for someone in a wheelchair. 🙇🏻‍♂️ I'll definitely be back! 🤩

When I first came here in 2017, there used to be a smoking section. Now there isn't any. I know it isn't the restaurant's fault but boy would I love to smoke while I eat my food. I took my girlfriend here but she got "the ick" because one of her fries fell onto the table and I ate it. She thought the table was dirty. Food is alright, but not worth a second visit because it's a bit far. They offer slightly bigger portions than the other family restaurants like Coco's and Gust.

A great go to restaurant for hamburger steak and a number of variants. Located near the former LaLa garden, it forms a cluster with q ramen place next door and a recycle shop. I hope they can stay in business. Free wifi, booth seating, and rather partitioned seating.

What our travelers says:

7 years ago Giacomo De Pietrodescribed this experience as follows:

A very good ramen restaurant. All the ramen they serve (only five types) are very good. In particular, they use high-quality fresh noodles. Here the tsukumen is highly recommended, since it is delicious and tasty. With no extra-price it's possible to order several size of ramen.

4 years ago Yuichi Hosoya- why does he think this place is on the list?

魚介豚骨醤油: A kind of paste composed of dried fish & pork-bone with soy sauce flavor. The soup is very rich like roux but not so salty than I expected. So I recommend this to anyone who loves 魚介系 (dried fish based family) ramen and avoids choosing salty foods.

7 years ago Vishalwrote only this about this place:

An interesting take on tsukumen, with the two main tsukemen options being a prawn or sea urchin based broth. Had the prawn tsukemen and it was.......very prawn-flavoured. Not for the weak-willed; the soup is thick and grainy and requires substantial chewing before you can tolerate swallowing it. Not exactly my personal favourite, however that is no real flaw of the restaurant and it was still fun to try out. The gyoza was good (they also have a choice between normal gyoza and prawn gyoza). Portions are ludicrously huge. Be warned before you contemplate choosing even the 中 size.

2 years ago Max Kennard: it is necessary to add to this place:

Good tsukemen, but not a lot of toppings for the price.

What our travelers says:

3 years ago Kseniia Malyshevahow did he rate it?

Good option during lunch, when other places have a long line. You'll have to wait here too, but they have a lot of seats and a space to wait inside the shop, so you'll at least be warm. Ramen is alright. Their specialty is meat. You can choose from several (6?) styles of meet - less/more fat, softer/tougher. There're also different types of ramen too. Be sure to write your name on the waiting list inside and the staff will call you when table opens. I'm not sure about proper hygiene in this place. Waitress who were bringing bowl with ramen were not wearing gloves, but their fingers were touching the insides of plates and the soup inside, as they were rushing around, also spilling it on the floor. They were also wearing rings and earrings, I just hope non of that will end up in someone's food.

2 years ago François Renozexplained best how he liked it:

Very welcoming, spacious restaurant where the music is not too loud. Wide choice of meats for the ramen. Delicious ramen and especially small alternative dishes on the side (gyozas, grilled meat mats on rice...). A joy for lunch!

6 years ago E “Tillandsia Asahikazura” Nackwhat can I say about this place?

Last week, weekday evening, visited for the third time. I think I got the shrimp salt ramen....? Very rich shrimp taste. Personally felt it was a bit too rich/thick and had husband help me out in the end. But was still good nonetheless. I’ve always loved their variety, so I would very much like to visit again and try something else. Maybe something with a clearer soup... And yes, probably difficult to order if you can’t read Japanese (kanji)!

Seafood ramen is an umami bomb. Surprisingly, it is not salty. It was a great ramen experience.

What our travelers says:

6 months ago Karmenwhat can I say about this place?

It's 100yen sushi, but decent quality for its category. Since it's family-friendly, be prepared to queue for a long time at peak timings. Pros: Touchscreen has multiple languages. The seasonal menu was decent. Kids' toys are not limited to the kids' set, but can also be ordered with a drink (nice concept). Sushi orders arrive very quickly. Cons: Tuna options are limited. You can only send 4 orders at a time. Doesn't have the giant touchscreen that allows for dual ordering at the same time which some Sushiro places do. Fried orders take longer to process compared to other kaitens.

This is my first time to see everything ordering in one tablet and serve by a long car and it's so fast(around 2-5 minutes) and good price, the dessert I would recommended is cheese cake (purely white cake) it's good taste, soft and delicious.

7 years ago Max Kennardhow did he rate it?

Great 100 yen sushi restaurant. All orders are placed from a touch screen with multi languages and pictures. Instead of a traditional conveyer belt, the sushi is delivered on either a race car or a shinkansen gliding on a track.

🌟 Home-Cooked Miso Ramen Perfection! 🍜✨ I recently tried making miso ramen at home using fresh noodles and soup from Matsuya Seimenjo in Tsukuba, Ibaraki. 🏞️ The noodles were firm and silky smooth, perfectly paired with the rich, flavorful soup. Honestly, the result was better than eating out at a ramen shop! 😍👏 What an amazing noodle maker! 🌸 About Matsuya Seimenjo 🌸 Nestled at the foot of Mt. Tsukuba in a beautifully renovated 100-year-old building, Matsuya Seimenjo has been crafting high-quality noodles since 2015. 🏯✨ They use 100% domestic wheat, including the local variety “Yume Shihou,” and their noodles and soups are free from chemical additives. 🍃 What makes them extra special? 🌅 They offer an eat-in space called the “Tasting Section,” where you can enjoy freshly made ramen, even for breakfast (their famous “Morning Ramen” 🌄🍜). Open from 7 AM to 1 PM, it’s a unique and wholesome experience. Their signature dish, “Matsuya Ramen,” features chewy, wavy noodles with a light and delicate niboshi-based broth. All toppings, including char siu and menma, are handmade. 🍖🥢 🏆 Recognized as the best ramen in Ibaraki (Ramen Walker Grand Prix 2018 & 2021), it’s a must-visit spot for both locals and travelers. You can also order their noodles as a gift or through Tsukuba’s hometown tax program! 🎁📦 Whether you’re exploring Tsukuba or looking for an exceptional ramen experience at home, Matsuya Seimenjo is the place to check out. 🌟 #Tsukuba #RamenLovers #MatsuyaSeimenjo #JapaneseFood #FoodieAdventures

I arrived around 7:00 AM, seven customers ahead of me. I was at the head of the second group, so I ended up waiting over 15 minutes. I chose Matsuya Ramen. The aroma of dried sardines was so strong, and it carried me through the entire bowl. That's all I could ask for. The soup was soy sauce flavored, clean and delicious, with a clean finish. The noodles were thick, almost hand-kneaded? They had a smooth texture, yet were chewy and smooth. The pork slices were lean and refreshing. The texture was firm and satisfying. It's a dish that some people prefer. The menma (bamboo shoots) were soy sauce flavored, with a firm, crunchy texture. I'm glad I tried them. It was a delicious bowl. Thank you for the meal.
