Exquisite Fruit & crunchy bolw prepared me the girls of Haagen Dazs! I wanted something fresh and with fruit and they recommended this plate with raspberries sorbet, banana, strawberries and muesli, a success! They have a lot of variety of flavours, and they are all very good. The place is super clean and bright. Very helpful and friendly employees. 100% recommended! ❤️❤️

4 months ago Chill Guyevaluates this place as follows:

Had an amazing experience at Häagen-Dazs! The cheesecake with a side of ice cream was absolutely delicious — rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Huge thanks to Sofie and Pablo for their friendly and attentive service. Highly recommend! 🍰🍦

6 months ago Antonio Fraguela Castrillóndescribed this experience as follows:

If you're in Gibraltar and craving something sweet, Häagen-Dazs Gibraltar is an absolute must-visit! Without a doubt, it's the best ice cream shop in town. The quality of the ice cream is unmatched—rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor in every scoop. But what truly sets this place apart is the staff. They are incredibly kind, attentive, and always make you feel welcome. Whether you're a regular or visiting for the first time, they go above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience. Their friendly smiles and helpful service make every visit a delight. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy premium ice cream with top-tier customer service!

Lush ice-cream! (I tried the raspberry sorbet with an extra topping of fruit). The staff were kind, understanding and very helpful when i needed allergy information on the ice-cream. There is a range of amazing flavours and i will definitely be back to try more!!

4 months ago Benjamin Sandler- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

Exceptional Service at Häagen-Dazs Gibraltar We had an outstanding experience at the Häagen-Dazs in Casemates Plaza, thanks to Pablo — a warm, friendly, and highly professional member of staff. He provided clear and helpful information about the shop’s opening hours and impressed us with his seamless bilingual service in both excellent English (rarely matched even in Spain) and very approachable Spanish. Pablo introduced us to an unforgettable combination of pistachio ice cream with pistachio sauce and caramelized hazelnuts — a mix I’d never even considered despite visiting Häagen-Dazs bars around the world. It turned out to be one of the most memorable desserts I’ve ever had. Even after closing time, Pablo kindly allowed us to finish our ice cream outside, thoughtfully rearranging the unused tables and chairs and staying a little later so we could fully enjoy it. His hospitality and professionalism truly stood out. Thank you, Pablo, for making our visit so enjoyable.

What our travelers says:

5 months ago Tom Finlaysonsaid the following about this gem:

We came here for the Cinnamon rolls which were massive and one was enough to share. Delicious! Unfortunately the coffee was a let down. We asked for an Americano and a Cafe con leche. I was asked if I wanted milk with the Americano?! The cafe con leche turned out as a very weak latte which got returned only to be served a frothy white. What a let down! Next time I will buy the cinnamon roll to take away!

5 months ago C Cristianexplained best how he liked it:

I am wondering what is the point of all calling it cafe if you don't know how to make a coffee. Asked 2 times for a flat white. Both times got something that has nothing to do with flat white. Someone needs to train that guy to make coffee froth for cappuccino or for flat white. Both times milk was boiling hot, hence 1st time was not a mistake. 2nd attempt got something closer to a cappuccino. Fantastic pastries , sandwich bread was a bit old. Probably the day before

2 years ago Marky- why does he think this place is on the list?

So good, I had breakfast and a spot of lunch. The food was great, the egg was a bit cold, could've been microwaved but was enough to see me through the days events. All this came to less than £15 which is worth it. Picture of the pizza was just for show as they're gigantic!

Nicest looking pastries in all of Gibraltar. Their chocolate chip cookies are incredible. They are one of the few places in La Línea/ Gibraltar area where you can get an actual iced coffee with flavors and different syrups. Very aesthetic and modern vibe.

5 months ago Ha Mi Tangsaid the following about this gem:

Super nice 😭😭😭 i love the super berry as its more sour taste than sweet which suits my taste buds 🫶 The cookies and dessert are also super nice 😤😤

2 years ago P M- why does he think this place is on the list?

Very surprising speciality coffee 🤩☕️ mild, done to preference by staff with good sense of humor ( lovely young blond gentlemen who prepared the coffee ). We also returned for truffles 🍫 & signature Pistachio/raspberry & chocolate cake🎂 🤤 This was for our special celebration. Ideal 18 inch cake size for few guests done in 24h notice, fantastic. Definitely recommend.

4 months ago pooja sidnale: it is necessary to add to this place:

Probably the best hot Matcha Latte with oat milk I've ever had!! Their vegan muffins are so moist and DELICIOUS unlike a lot of places where vegan pastries are just dry.

1 year ago Monika Rajnochova- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

We visited shop shortly before closing, so selection wasn't really big. But we bought very delicious cakes, especially pistachio one was TOP. Size and weight of cakes was unbelievable. It could serve as a dinner:) Day before Christmas the weather was amazing, so sitting outside and eating these cakes was a real pleasure.

4 months ago Raymond Rodriguez- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

£38 for Fish n Chips, Frozen onion rings, and two canas of cerveza. Worst Fish I have ever eaten. Mrs. Paul’s frozen fish fillets are a far improvement over this tourist trap. Avoid this place at all costs. The sign should actually read “Possibly the Worst Fish n Chips”

10 months ago Scott Stevenwrote only this about this place:

So basically should have read the reviews before coming here. Very expensive tourist trap. Way better places just down road give better/larger meals for less money. Charge £7.20 for glass of wine most places are max £5. Had calamari & chips £14.90 got 8 squid rings & about 20 chips. AVOID

4 months ago Adrian Roberts: it is necessary to add to this place:

The fish and chips were well cooked Lovely crisp batter and very well done chips

7 months ago Agnes Molloywrote only this for this place:

Stay away- don't be tempted by a promise of quick food. Tasteless and overpriced 2 chicken burgers and one fish and chips, one soda each ( food did not taste great) €80 Should have read reviews before ordering Half of the time you'll spend fighting off the pigeons because of all the dirt under the tables

5 months ago Martin Walkersaid the following about this gem:

Why all the negativity - we had great fish and chips and the beer was good value compared with others very close by. Staff were delightful and interior and the loos were spotless. I really don’t understand this need that some people seem to have to post negative stuff - these are people’s businesses and livelihoods which can be affected by this sort of stuff!

Top Rock Cafe
We rate 5.6/10!. This place was visited and rated 299-times

What our travelers says:

7 months ago Andreea Daniela Dinulescu: it is necessary to add to this place:

This Cafe is well placed, and I assume the only one up here😂. Is perfect if you need a drink, and you might have view if is not cloudy. The pastries I didn’t like. I had something with tuna - not bad taste but I had acidity later. The croissant my husband had was fine, he didn’t complain so I guess tasted good. The people serving at the counter were nice.

8 months ago Amori Neldescribed this experience as follows:

Basic place where you can buy souvenirs of Gibraltar and a few other ready to purchase items. We had a beer and a bag of chips paid 4euros. The design is nice but nothing special. The place is definitely over staffed for what it has to offer.

1 year ago Esrowhat can I say about this place?

Awful place. Overpriced and the food is terrible .. I had an omelette with 'toast' .. more like a piece of stale dry bread. If you need to eat on the Rock wait until you reach the cafe by St Michael's Caves, though I'd recommend eating before you go up or take something with you.

1 year ago Bo Nuswhat can I say about this place?

It was a very, very slow service and very expensive!! Staff only talk and keep talking and don't care much about long queue! For the 500ml water it's cost about £2.50! Monkeys are all around and do not feed them!

1 year ago Pawel Kaletaevaluates this place as follows:

What a disappointment of a place. We stopped for a quick bite and drinks, and the experience was awful. Firstly, the messed-up was a simple order, so one of my daughters had to wait an extra 20 minutes for a milkshake ( I had to remind the staff 3 times before it arrived) The iced latte tured up to be latte with separate glass of ice, and croissants were hard as rock. In the end, they tried to charge us for an extra milkshake as they added the missing milkshake to the bill. This is such a waste because the location and views are amazing, but the service and the food are below any standards. Frankly, it seems they don't care because the vast majority of the visitors are one timers, so they won't come back anyway. If you want to eat something just go to the cabin by the cave (if also visiting nature reserve)

6 years ago Shadow Yipexplained best how he liked it:

not sure if we didnt go at the right time, there's only 1 staff to handle all customers. coffee was so so and cakes just like what you got at supermarket. have a break outdoor with birds was still comfortable.

1 year ago kiah lopezwrote only this about this place:

As Gibraltar is already very limited in big names let’s add Costa to being another one of them. In the UK they have an app that collects points and rewards loyal customers with a free coffee. I believe it’s every number of coffees you’ll receive a free one. Of course Gibraltar is a Costa franchise. They used to give out cards with space for 9 stamps, so every 9 coffees you’d get a free one, (fair enough) this was a great option for people who are loyal to coffee chains. People like me who doesn’t go anywhere else, and sometimes will return 4 times in one day due to being close to work. They have now made an app where every coffee you get around 3 pennies back. So after about 10 coffees I’ve got 56p loyalty back. This is a massive difference from the stamps card. As by now I would have been able to grab a free coffee as a loyalty perk. God I miss the UK. I will not be coming back. They’ve lost a big customer.

Costa Coffee

What our travelers says:

7 months ago Lisa Concannondescribed this experience as follows:

Ordered 5 coffees two of which were iced caramel lattes. Once we got the coffees we noticed the iced lattes had no caramel so we brought them up to the counter thinking they may have forgot but no, we were met with a very rude worker who told me I did not ask for caramel, this man had glasses and a bad attitude he tried to argue with me that I did not say caramel. There was 4 other people with me who all heard me say caramel. I had no problem paying extra for the caramel its the attitude he had towards me that I was not happy with. If I didn't have everything paid for already I would have left everything and went somewhere else. Absolutely disgraceful behavior when we are spending our hard earned money and trying to enjoy our holiday. Very rude. Will not be coming back here.

7 months ago Stefan Ivanovsaid the following about this gem:

I ordered a frappe. It was literally only ice, sugar, and taste enhancers . I haven’t visited Costa Coffee in a long time. I am not doing that again. The blender was not cleaned throughly.

5 months ago STEVE WOOD- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

Visiting from the UK, wouldn’t accept the UK Costa app. Considering Costa is nowhere in Europe and Gib is part of the UK, it seemed a bit strange. Coffee was good though.

2 years ago Robyn Jimenezdescribed this experience as follows:

Great service. Delicious coffee, better than the locations in England. No decaf here. There is a restroom, though.

1 year ago Ondřej Hradildescribed this experience as follows:

Looks better than it tastes, the one with whipped cream didn’t really taste well. We got our coffees in paper cups although we wanted to stay in. The toilets were not working.

3. place gets Star Bar

Star Bar
We give 8.4/10!. This place was visited and rated 508-times

What our travelers says:

6 months ago Ashleigh Lennonwrote only this for this place:

We didn't eat on this occasion. However, we have done so in the past and it's always been nice. Whenever we visit Gibraltar, a visit to the Star Bar is a must. It's changed from what I remember as a kid (make over) but still holds all the charm it had originally and what makes it a great stop for food and drinks. The staff are absolutely lovely and often rushed off their feet, as locals know the place well and tourists flock to Gibs oldest bar! I'd always recommend a visit to the star bar when in town, as it really is special.

1 year ago Simon Heffernan- why does he think this place is on the list?

Huge portions of cheap priced, and quality food. I had the roast which was huge, but the meat dry and over cooked. As roasts go it was pretty good But the burger was incredibly cheap quality and not worth the money. Two of the staff were lovely, but one of the other ladies really looked like she hated everyone for some reason. The venue is clean and spacious with loads of seating, nice atmosphere, reasonable prices (for Gibraltar) but high for the quality of the dishes.

4 months ago Igor Kneževič- why does he think this place is on the list?

A hidden gem in the vibrant city atmosphere – this bar is perfectly located between the streets of Gibraltar, where urban energy meets relaxed vibes. The service is excellent, the staff friendly and efficient, and the food is a true culinary delight. A great spot to unwind with a drink or enjoy a delicious meal. Highly recommended!

4 months ago Steve Climbs- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

Star Bar = 1 Star. The last time I went here I gave it three stars 3/5. That was in 2019. Thought I'd pay a visit and get a coffee and some toast. The coffee came, I drank it. No toast. I decided to pay for the coffee and leave. As I was at the bar waiting to pay they brought the toast out. A full 10 minutes after I ordered it. I declined it. Why did it take so long to make a piece of toast? Two possible things could have happened. Maybe the kitchen were extremely slow (they were not busy), or didn't have the recipe for toast to hand. However I suspect the toast was made pronto, and ended up sitting in the kitchen while the TABLE STAFF WAS OUTSIDE THE FRONT OF THE CAFE HAVING A SMOKE. It could be another 6 years before I go there again. Hence my "Star Bar = 1 Star" Edit. 1 hour after posting. Just read a few other reviews mentioning the staff more interested in smoking and phone use than doing their job. So it's not just me then.

5 months ago Benjamin Jacksondescribed this experience as follows:

Had lunch in there on Saturday and the bar lady was way more interested in her phone and smoking cigarettes outside. People trying to pay, every table had to ask for the bill/menu’s/coffee etc. Food was decent but the service was useless. The only girl there was USELESS. Put your phone away and smoke on your break. Talk to customers…..at least to do your job! I’d go back but I’ll turn right around if I see it’s her working!

What our travelers says:

6 months ago leonelleong- why does he think this place is on the list?

This is Gibraltar, 2 a.m. on Tuesday, August 26. I walked here for 30 minutes, and then they said it was already closed. So the hours shown on Google are inaccurate.

7 months ago Karl Hodgsonexplained best how he liked it:

Had a great time in here came home money up Lovely pint of Guinness

4 months ago Vincent Power- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

Where the majority of staff are not local, public announcements are not clear. Bingo Hall number announcements are not clear! Upstairs bar doesn't open to 8 p.m., but there's no notification of this. TV programmes most of the time are not of UK sports. Upstairs TV's have blue spots everywhere, management do nothing! Some senior staff are arrogant too. Staff openingly complain about their jobs. Senior staff even speak to their staff in their native tongue, so English for some reason is hardly heard! This is British Gibraltar, pull your socks up. Toilets are a disgrace too. Not a nice experience.

Very slow service, both of my sausages were raw, pink and therefore undercooked. Sent it back and received only 1 sausage that was cooked after a long wait. Only good thing is the atmosphere and look of the cafe however I would recommend doing anywhere else for breakfast in Gibraltar.

7 months ago S. B: it is necessary to add to this place:

There isn’t much positive to say about our recent lunch experience here. We ended up at this restaurant by coincidence. Inside, only one other table was occupied. Despite that, the bartender, waitress, and a larger man (possibly the manager?) seemed too busy with other thing but certainly not with attending to guests. They were making jokes and drinking at the bar… the picture really speaks for itself. The waitress, although friendly, forgot to pass on our order to the kitchen. She had to return to our table to ask again. After that, nothing happened. No drinks were served. When I asked about our drinks 10 minutes later, we got another excuse. The food finally arrived after about 30 minutes. Unfortunately, part of it was cold. We asked for it to be reheated. By the time the corrected dish returned, everyone else had already finished eating. To top it off, we had to walk to the bar to pay. While we stood there waiting for someone to notice us, the waitress simply turned to us and said goodbye—before I could even ask for the bill. So basically, we could have walked out without paying. That says enough about how disconnected and uninterested the entire team was in their guests. In short, everything that could go wrong did go wrong during our visit. The Huntergroup should be ashamed. What a terrible place. I do not recommend it.

11 months ago Phillip- why does he think this place is on the list?

We went to Jury's Cafe and Wine Bar for lunch. We sat outside to enjoy the fresh air and indulge in some good old people-watching while munching on our food. My girlfriend was less than thrilled with the jacket potato with tuna—apparently, the potato had skipped the "warm and fluffy" memo and opted for "cold and hard" instead. As for the tuna on top? It was a sad little dollop, like they ran out halfway through. And to top it off, no side salad! We had to splurge on that luxury as an extra. Overall, very disappointed.
