What our travelers says:

5 months ago Sonja Muller- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

I have been going for many years to this world class pasticcerie. Sandra does the most beautiful cakes - big and small. The breakfast pastries are the best I have ever tasted. And my favorite are the savory “sandwiches”. Lots of extra treats to buy. Cappuccino is amazing. Fresh orange juice delicious. It can get very busy but who cares? Place where every local who matters goes to from all walks of life. Wonderful family with a proud Lucchese tradition and history.

7 months ago Cristina Paun: it is necessary to add to this place:

The atmosphere at Pasticceria Sandra Bianchi is as charming as the pastries. The shop has a warm, inviting feel, and the staff are always friendly and eager to help. Whether you’re grabbing a quick coffee and pastry to go, or sitting down to enjoy your treat in the cozy seating area, the experience is always delightful. In a city full of culinary delights, Pasticceria Sandra Bianchi stands out as a true gem. It’s a place where tradition meets quality, and where every bite is a little taste of Lucca’s rich history.

7 months ago Susan Gutowskyexplained best how he liked it:

The best cornetto with crema that I’ve eaten in Italy – and I’ve eaten a lot of them. Wonderful bakery, excellent coffee, kind and attentive staff. Always busy for a reason. A+.

5 years ago Rhoda Schnitzer- why does he think this place is on the list?

Amazing choice of delicious pastries, great coffee but what really stood out was the service. Sandra's father was very forthcoming and even switched to flawless English when he realised that we didn't speak Italian. He not only patiently explained the ingredients of the delicious pastries to us but he did that with every other customer too. A must visit if you are in the neighbourhood.

3 years ago Andi Peruskoevaluates this place as follows:

The best pastry bar ever. If you like sweets, cakes or sandwiches this is the right place for your breakfast. The croissant with crema pasticciera is amazing🔝🔝🔝

What our travelers says:

5 months ago Dan R. Deneyerwhat can I say about this place?

Lovely, stylish cafe with interesting light refreshments menu. We sat outside to enjoy the last autumn sun, but the inside is beautifully decorated and cozy. I had a special coffee with cream and coconut, served in a martini glass (!) and a delicious hummus sandwich, but everything looked delicious. Service was OK, prices above average but totally worth it.

6 months ago Greta Martinezsaid the following about this gem:

Lovely and classic inside. Especially the internal garden area. Unfortunately, the food is subpar and the service is extremely slow. Been here a couple of times and each time the coffee has come cold and the food has taken very long. I also want to express even when we asked for very hot coffee drinks the second time, the cappuccini still came cold. They seem to be understaffed as someone is always running around. Coffee and food is just ok. Wouldn’t recommend for coffee or food, but perhaps an aperitivo in a cozy spot with a friend or on one of their live music nights.

1 year ago SDwhat can I say about this place?

This place is a whole experience on itself. I definitely recommend checking it out! They offer a very diverse array of pastry, sandwiches, biscuits, cakes, and lunch dishes. We tried 4 different items and they were all very good! The interior is beautiful and cosy. You can sit on the terrace outside, but also in their little garden in the back. All staff are dressed to impress: they match the vibe of this spot. Be warned however: every 30 seconds they mist the place (this was in July) so your clothing/hair may get damp. A remark regarding the service: There are no translations on the menu card (which is fine) so we tried to look up the different dishes to figure out what they were. The waiter saw us clearly struggling (with our phones and the open menus) yet always quickly came to ask what we wanted while we did not have a clue yet. We felt very rushed: he kept standing there and looking at us expectantly so I just randomly chose. We would have appreciated some patience.

1 year ago Anthony Bianucciwrote only this about this place:

I would give them 10 stars if possible. The atmosphere is elegant and beautiful. We asked them to choose 2 of their favorite sweet treats we also got 3 sandwiches, the very best cappuccino I have had so far, a Bellini that was made with fresh juice and some sodas for the kids. Everything was stellar and amazing. They also dropped off a tray of snacks. Potato chips, olives and peanuts. We will be back in the morning for another wonderful snack.

1 year ago Viviana M.wrote only this for this place:

Loved everything about this place! Santa Zita is like an oasis of calmness and style. You only need to enter it to be transported back in time. We had two coffees, one El Salvador specialty and a regular coffee, both very good, as well as two slices of delicious cake.

The place to stop to and from Pisa airport for your first or last proper Italian coffee and dolce for many people because it's so good. Update: Dropped in again for much needed coffee on arrival. All still good. Update 2: Yes, all as good as ever.

Friendly staff, good coffee, and good food. Alot of students studying there which makes for a nice working atmosphere. Wifi was a little slow at times, although this is understandable due to the many people there. Plenty of charging plugs for computers, phones, and other electronics. Prices are also fair.

1. place - Atelier Damiano Carrara

Atelier Damiano Carrara
Definitely deserves 9/10!. This place was visited and rated 1321-times

What our travelers says:

7 months ago Gianmaria Griglio: it is necessary to add to this place:

This is a high end place (as per name): a very modern and classy place, with a place to sit indoors where you can have a coffee and of course enjoy the sweets. The patisserie is, needless to say, top notch: small size cakes full of flavor, beautiful to look at, perfect in appearance and taste. Everything is gluten free, and most things are lactose free. Definitely an experience worth trying. Be sure to check the opening times: when my wife and I went, it was closed on Mondays and opened in the morning from 11.

1 year ago Anusce Sanaiwhat can I say about this place?

My recent visit to Atelier Damiano Carrara left me thoroughly disappointed. Despite the hype, the experience fell flat due to exorbitantly priced items that failed to justify their cost. Additionally, the lack of diverse flavors in their offerings left my palate underwhelmed. We ordered three items: the Biancarossa, despite its layered flavors, left an overpowering taste of cream only, the Estate Toscana had an oily covered basil and underwhelming flavors, the pistachio ice cream was ok and also available at many gelato stores around town without having to pay €16! Although I appreciate the craft and art, and the use of fine ingredients, I was expecting a wow factors which can be found at many local pastry stores around town. Overall, it was a letdown considering the high expectations I had for the establishment. Additionally, I would strongly suggest they rethink the music choice for the location. With such a high end quality of style, glove service and high ticket items, listening to slurs, bad words and lyrics that are mainstream pop music does not fit the brand they wish to present, especially when in the hometown of Puccini. It is certainly and experience but proceed with caution!

2 years ago Nidia Torreswrote only this for this place:

Beautiful workshop. I loved all the display counters where you can see all the Atelier's creations. They have an open kitchen where you can see the team creating beautiful pieces of food art. Damiano was a perfect host greeting all his customers present at that time, a humble and down-to-earth man. We asked for takeaway orders as we were heading back to our home at La Spezia (70 minutes car ride). We purchased Zenzi, Fantasia & Panettone al pistachio, such beautiful creations, made with high-quality products, and super delicious!!! Thanks, Damiano for allowing us to indulge in your Haute Patisserie experience not so far away from home.

1 year ago Victoria Douglashow did he rate it?

We ordered a larger sized Tiramisu from Atelier Damiano Carrara for our alternative to a Wedding cake and not only were we thrilled with the level of service and communication, but the tiramisu itself was absolutely out of this world. Our whole wedding party absolutely loved it, and we are still dreaming about the flavours and textures now.

2 years ago Nikola Maricwhat can I say about this place?

the place is superb, interior is astonishing. cakes are a bit expensiv but very tasty. the gellato cream is something out off space. must visit
