What our travelers says:

4 months ago Alena Pavlova: it is necessary to add to this place:

Sit in the sun and sip your espresso, slurp aperol spritz or enjoy a Gelato. Sell fresh cannoli, sweets but also lunch! Great prizes and unlimited choices.

4 weeks ago Schønning Eysturoy- why does he think this place is on the list?

This place is quite old school and a bit sad. The main reason for the two stars is that they throw everything on the floor outside - plastic cups, serviettes, straws, etc. It is disgusting as it is right next to the sea and the wind blow everything into it. So sad and a lack of respect for nature.

2 years ago Katiwrote only this for this place:

Great breakfast and it’s the only place in Mondello with gluten-free options for breakfast (they offer gluten-free cannolis and brioche). All tasted great.

2 years ago Liam Bdescribed this experience as follows:

Average gelato, average brioche. Arancini are premade and microwaved instead of fried fresh to order. Not the worst place but definitely won’t be a highlight of your trip.

1 year ago Fabio Sapienzawrote only this for this place:

Antico Chiosco is part of the history of Mondello. If you want to try one of the excellent pieces of Rosticceria, Gelati, cooked dishes, sweets and more, please go and enjoy one of them sitting in the Square and enjoy the sun and beautiful view of the sea.

9. place - Casa Stagnitta

Casa Stagnitta

What our travelers says:

2 months ago David De Mariasaid the following about this gem:

This little café is an absolute gem! Casa Stagnitta was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a delicious meal. We sat outside in the charming outdoor seating area and savored every bite. The lentil soup was hearty and flavorful, the penne pomodoro was perfectly cooked with a rich, comforting sauce, and the grilled squid with vegetables was fresh, tender, and beautifully prepared. We ended on a high note with the Coppa Gelato—truly fabulous and the perfect sweet finish. Every dish was amazing and full of flavor. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic, delicious food in a cozy, welcoming setting!

1 week ago Nathan Strong- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

There are two parts to this place - the shop which has a great range of freshly roasted coffees, and the cafe/restaurant. The shop was spot on. They were very knowledgeable and helped me decide which beans to buy. Well priced and excellent quality. We were encouraged to enjoy the coffee in their restaurant, which we obliged. Things went a bit downhill sadly. We were not offered a warm welcome, we had to ask for a menu then we had to ask how to order. We were told it was table service but the minutes went past and no one came. The staff (all three) were not approachable or warm in any way. I felt an inconvenience to them despite it being relatively quiet. That being said, the coffee itself and the fresh orange juice were great. It just lacked the service to accompany.

1 month ago Patrix542what can I say about this place?

I went in to try their „green coffee” after seeing it on TikTok. It was good but but very small considering I paid 5 euros. Service not the best, it seemed chaotic and not that friendly

1 week ago Mira Abbassievaluates this place as follows:

Green coffee, pistachio cream and espresso, good but heavy

8 months ago Geoffrey Holtsclawdescribed this experience as follows:

Oh my sweet goodness, the treats here are delicious! We stopped for a coffee but ended up getting some sweet stuff because it looked so good on the menu. My date got an affogato and I got a house blend and an ice cream hemisphere (of which I've sadly forgotten the name, but you can see it in the photo). My date really enjoyed her affogato and my house blend was good but the ice cream thing I got blew my taste buds off. It was probably the most delicious sweet treat I got during the whole trip to Sicily, and that's saying something. I really like sweet things and this hit the spot. I hate to make double visits to cafes on vacation but I might have to make an exception for this one. That said, the service was a little curt and seemed to be annoyed by our presence, which was odd considering they're in a heavily trafficked tourist area. But I'm still giving the place 5 stars for the desserts.

8. place belongs to Bar Timi

Bar Timi
Definitely deserves 9.8/10!. This place was visited and rated 793-times

What our travelers says:

4 weeks ago Annie Bibriescaevaluates this place as follows:

This place is amazing, the vibes are wonderful, whether you sit outside or inside. It has a very cozy chill vibe which is wonderful after spending the day walking. We ordered the lasagna, the pancakes with salmon and mozzarella, a cappuccino and an orange juice. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and so good and the coffee is amazing as well. The lasagna is delicious and the pancakes with salmon are very interesting and delicious as well. More importantly, the staff is very welcoming and so nice, the kind of attention that can turn a bad day around. If you are near or if you’re looking for a breakfast or lunch spot this is the place to go.

1 month ago L Csaid the following about this gem:

Very empathic owner. I was offered to try their olive oil, almond cream, pistachio cream and mandarin marmalade that is produced in their own farm. I had a nice little talk with the owner. I didn’t see any menus, but you can ask what they offer. I had an ice orange juice, and ice latte, which seems to be very rare in south of Italy. Limited seats indoor. There is AC!

1 month ago John Benoitsaid the following about this gem:

How do I start to describe this 4 table, 4 outside, 4 inside, bar off a non-descript piazza. Timii, the proprietor, is a lovely human being. Makes this place special. I’ve stopped in at his place twice in two days. First to have a delicious Negroni and the my second visit I enjoyed a very nice wine and a surprise of a delicious lasagna. Exquisite. What a sleeping gem. Don’t be rushed, just enjoy.

3 weeks ago rothejenniferdescribed this experience as follows:

You can’t miss this little gem! Excellent spot for aperitivo - with olives from the owners farm. Best olives I’ve ever had. The real treat is breakfast - with croissants with pistachio or almond spread homemade from the owners farm. Best pistachio spread ever!!! And fresh orange juice to die for! Owner is super nice and staff is just lovely! Going to keep coming back!!

Bar Timi was our favorite place while visiting Palermo. We came to have breakfast almost every day. The owners and staff are super welcoming, the food and drinks are so delicious and made with love, the bar is cozy with lots of lovely details, and the atmosphere was extremely pleasant and welcoming. A must visit while in Palermo!

7. place - BALATA Sicilian Experience

BALATA Sicilian Experience
Definitely deserves 8.6/10!. This place was visited and rated 917-times

What our travelers says:

6 months ago dominic dearexplained best how he liked it:

The restaurant was very quiet (mid November). I enjoyed the pasta with sardines - nicely presented and very tasty, The house wine was palatable too. The swordfish involtini I found to be somewhat bland, but on the whole it was a nice mal.

2 years ago Gregg Verteswhat can I say about this place?

Stopped in for a couple appetizers and some pasta. It was less than 1 hour before closing but they were nice enough to seat us and didn’t rush us at all. The staff were very friendly and patient. We had the mussels, the eggplant, and the pasta with meat sauce. The eggplant was a little on the cold side and it came out pretty quickly so I can only assume it was prepared in advance and just not heated up enough. I felt the mussels were a little firm and perhaps overcooked a little. The pasta with meat sauce was quite nice. A good portion size and pasta was cooked just right. The presentation was good and the ambiance was nice.

8 months ago Dr Tamas Gergely Nyars: it is necessary to add to this place:

I arrived for an early dinner (early for locals, not for me though at 6 pm) and I was alone from start to finish which I don't mind. I have ordered from the daily specials menu a "Busiate Al Ragu Siciliano" and then the "Involtini di Spada". The first one is a busiate pasta (originally from Trapani) with meaty Sicilian ragù. The second course were swordfish pieces breaded and deep-fried, stuffed with pine nuts, raisin, Caciocavallo cheese and served with orange, lemon, onion and tomato sauce around it. I also had a dessert this time, a Canollo Siciliano. 🇮🇹♥️ I paid a to of €33 included the water. Service was attentive and quick.

10 months ago Amanda Oswald- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

I'd give this a 4.5. Food was excellent. Amazing pizza and traditional baked sicilian pasta. Staff was attentive and very accommodating. It was a bit warm inside which was the only issue. Fine for me but not for everyone. Would highly recommend!

8 months ago madara vilsondescribed this experience as follows:

To my mind, it is a hit-and-miss one with this restaurant - once I came for dinner and the pasta Norma was 5/5 and another day for lunch only a 3/5. Honest prices though and a great Negroni Sbagliato. Recommend to try.

Undercooked Eggs Benedict, lacked taste, server forgot we ordered, another server almost brought us someone else's order, took over 30 minutes for the food to arrive. Do not recommend, unless you have no other options.

1 month ago Kim P. Transaid the following about this gem:

Very disappointing food. Salad was on its last leg, eggs Benedict was half raw (runny white) and the French toast came with canned fruit and wilted garnish. We were so hungry, waited a long time for our food. When the food came, still managed to lose our appetite.

1 month ago Asunawrote only this about this place:

– Absolutely amazing! A true hidden gem! The ice cream was incredibly creamy and full of flavor – you can really taste the quality. The lasagna was homemade, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. The carbonara was just as impressive – rich, creamy, and authentically Italian. The atmosphere is charming and cozy, making you feel right at home. What really stood out was the extremely friendly and attentive staff who made the entire experience even more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back!

A lovely spot in the Borsa area of Palermo. The staff is really friendly and fun, making it a perfect place to start the morning. I really enjoy the food and the freshness of the ingredients. It’s definitely a great choice for brunch or breakfast in Palermo 🏝️🍹

A very tasty, delicious and comfortable place! With good attention and the food was fantastic. Spent 9 days in Palermo and went to have breakfast - lunch in there about 5 or 6 times. Cappuccino was glorious! I just loved it!! Thanks to Mariana and Vincenzo! 🫶🏻 Have to come back.

Staff were lovely and accommodating. The seating area was clean and well laid out. The pancakes were amazing 😍 Definitely recommend to anyone visiting 👌🏽

7 months ago Jéssica Lemos- why does he think this place is on the list?

My family and I had just arrived in Palermo and decided to try breakfast at Grace Café Corner based on the good reviews. I don't speak Italian, I ordered in English. We ordered pancakes and coffee with milk. The pancakes were good. The coffee came wrong. They only sent me milk. I believe it was a misunderstanding between English and Italian. Which is understanding. But when I went to order coffee and explain the mistake, the two girls, one at the register and the other who was making the hot drinks, were very rude. She added the coffee to the milk I had received earlier, but it wasn't good. We didn't have a good experience, so I won't be returning or recommending this place.

super spot for food and coffee, lots of sandwiches, cannoli , sweet or sour options. seating abailable inside and outside as well. Americano for 2,20€, arancini for 1€. Spicy arancini was the best I tried, also the best kinder bueno cannoli! Staff was nice and spoke english.

3 months ago MariaGG- why does he think this place is on the list?

The place is really close to the train station, looks cute and all of the food/drinks are delicious. Prices are very affordable. The lady who served us was a bit rude for no reason. It was the end of her shift I guess.

5 months ago Žeňa Laver- why does he think this place is on the list?

A lovely place for breakfast in Palermo. It is very afordable and offers a variet of different pastries and coffee. I loved the pistacho muffin! That was absolutely amazing. I also tried pistachio canoli and tarte (yes, a lot of pistachio) and the tarte with the canolo were a bit too sweet for my liking. The pistachio was mixed mostly with white chocolate and the utter sweetness made it a bit hard to finish.

3 weeks ago Catalina Pervulescu- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

Amazing place! Amazing croissants, cappuccino and arancine. And the prices are very low. I totally recommend.

2 months ago Stephen Ryansaid the following about this gem:

Very good cafeteria with a variety of pizza, prepared sandwiches and pastries. Very good coffee made with fresh ground beans, not pods. Always busy, so be prepared to take away or wait for a seat. The service is good, but don't expect pampering or fawning. I think it's classic Sicilian business protocol!

What our travelers says:

2 months ago David De Mariadescribed this experience as follows:

Pasticceria Costa is an absolute delight for any dessert lover! From the moment you step inside, the inviting aroma of freshly baked treats promises a culinary adventure like no other. I indulged in their Sicilian cannoli, and let me tell you—they are to lose your mind for. Crispy shells perfectly cradle a luxuriously creamy filling, accented by just the right amount of sweetness and a hint of traditional citrus zest. Every bite is a celebration of authentic Sicilian craftsmanship and passion. The service is warm and attentive, making the entire experience feel like a cherished tradition. I wholeheartedly award Pasticceria Costa 5 stars for its exceptional quality, irresistible flavors, and the pure joy it brings with every delicious treat.

5 months ago Pam Pamwhat can I say about this place?

I love their branch in Via Gabriele D'Annunzio 15 - the decor and atmosphere is amazing, they have really good pastries. I went with my friend to the one in the city center and the staff was really unfriendly and even rude. What is even worse, although they have seats and proper cafe place, they serve coffee in plastics cups.

5 months ago Anton Egowhat can I say about this place?

Tasty traditional Sicilian pastries! We asked for the most traditional Iris and got the one with chocolate and ricotta, which was my favorite!

10 months ago Yana F- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

I had an exceptional experience at Pasticceria Costa! Their pastries are the best I've ever tasted, each one a delightful treat. The cappuccino was delicious, perfectly brewed and rich in flavor. The atmosphere is great, warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a delicious treat. Highly recommend!

We stopped by Pasticceria Costa in Palermo for a sweet treat and weren’t disappointed. We tried some ricotta cream desserts and a cannolo, both fresh and nicely prepared. The place looks beautiful and inviting. Just a heads-up: the sweets are very sweet – but if you have a sweet tooth, this is definitely the spot for you!

Wonderful place! Always stop by to get myself some treats. Everything is literally €1 or €2 and the quality of food is amazing - coming from a somewhat of a demanding/picky eater. The staff is very polite too, those gentlemen are always very smiley and sweet. Thank you! :)

Touring Cafè Beach
We rate the place at 8/10!. This place was visited and rated 6784-times

What our travelers says:

1 week ago Federica Scaffidi- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

Really bad experience! The head waiter wouldn’t let me eat a gelato in the veranda while my dining companion was having his meal. We even offered to order two portions of food just so I could have my brioche with gelato, but he still refused. I understand that during lunchtime the veranda is probably more profitable for the company if used for bigger meals, but I found it very disappointing that I had to sit there with nothing while the other person ate, and then eat my brioche outside in a corner afterwards. Very disappointing and unfriendly service.

1 year ago Fulldistance Goingwrote only this for this place:

This place has two sections - sit-down lunch/dinner and snacks. Wide selection of ice cream, sweets, sandwiches, coffee & cocktails. Everything here is of great quality and taste. The pistachio muffins are really awesome. Irish coffee was superbly made and perfect taste. The selection of savory snacks is focused on the daily staples like arancini, cheese and ham sandwiches, salads etc. Yup. Give this spot a shot and you won’t be disappointed.

1 year ago Abdullah Altorki- why does he think this place is on the list?

The ice cream was delicious. The coffee was good. I didn’t try the savory items, as they didn’t open my appetite. The place was busy. The cashier was polite and friendly, but the barista was rude as he didn’t want me to take pictures! There are two sections in the cafe, a section for dine in and another one for pickup.
