What our travelers says:

1 year ago Çağla Erdem: it is necessary to add to this place:

There are lot of book. They are about very different subjects. Also there are many English book about subjects. It is very good place to work, meet, discuss. You don’t need registration to use the library. Only if you want to take book, you need it. There are a cafe, meeting rooms.

1 year ago John Kempwrote only this about this place:

there is always a pleasant student-like informal atmosphere here. It is cozy and I have never observed any aggression here. there is sufficient space between the tables for conversations, and some students use to work on there project. the terrace outside is spacious and in a pleasant environment. There is a large hall available where you can sit in luxurious armchairs and the toilets are excellently maintained within a short walking distance. the consumption offer is also varied and of high quality.

1 year ago Sarah Mak: it is necessary to add to this place:

It’s a really clean and modern library. There are quiet study rooms, teamwork rooms, as well as rooms with vending machines for food and drinks. I saw a small vending machines for stationery too. The toilets and food vending machines are on each floor, making them convenient to access. Each floor is quite small, so it is quite a walkable place. There seems to be some Czech Technical University (CTU) classes in a few rooms. The main hallways are a bit noisy as people are walking up and down staircases, so studying in the more remote corners of each floor may be better. I think the political drawings you can view in the center of the building are cute. On my first visit, I managed to enter without printing a free day pass—I simply asked the person at the entrance to let me in. (I’m not sure if it’s because I looked like a confused CTU student who forgot her card.) For my second visit, I managed to print my ticket at the ticket printer right next to the turnstiles. During the exam season, on a Saturday, the place was almost full though. I had a walk a bit to find a suitable seat. It’s not a tourist attraction per se—other libraries in Prague have a more storied history—but I think that it’s a good place to study.

1 year ago Ken Habartaexplained best how he liked it:

Worth visiting at the very least to experience the sheer magnitude of the inner architecture and aesthetic choices, e.g. Dan Perjovschi's epic 200+ smart-comic, protest-reqdy illustration-grafitti sloganeering depictions inside its 5-story open atrium. "The Číst Republic" 📚 bonus it's also a public library, teeming with studious behavior and beats any cafe for getting work done. 🙌

1 year ago Eleftheria Gkivizini- why does he think this place is on the list?

Huge yes. The design is amazing, nice temperature, open all day (and night) long. Free for students of other universities (+digital nomads). There are vending machines in each floor and a cafe on the bottom with nice outdoor space for the warm days. It can be very busy during the exams and in 6 floors you can’t find a single chair to sit. But surprisingly everyone respects the quiet zones.

Ruins are covered by graffiti. It offers a beautiful view of Prague including Prague’s castle, water treatment plant and Vltava River. No problem to find free parking on Saturday afternoon.

Picturesque location! Definitely worth visiting. Amazing panorama of Prague 6-7

3 years ago Balraj Melepatsaid the following about this gem:

It's a beautiful place, with an amazing view of river from the hill top.By seeing that place I could imagine that it's a night time party place.

7 years ago Robert Robleswrote only this about this place:

Beautiful view of the city. Come from the south west and it's a paved road. If you come from the north east it has an awesome hike through the woods.

7 years ago Denethor Greyevaluates this place as follows:

As for Baba ruin, there is not much to see. Also for sightseeing its distant spot and water clean facility sort of destroys view. But to light up graffiti painted walls on that ruin is some sort of promoting modern street art. That's something you will not see often. (partially joke. In true, not interesting place, only when you are nearby for some other reason.)

8. place deserves Džbán

What our travelers says:

6 years ago Anna Hällgrenhow did he rate it?

This place was a life saver when we were in Prague! The lake is not like the lakes in Sweden, it's small and the water is brown. But the ground is great, no mud just small rocks. You have to walk far until the water becomes deep and they have beer and paninis amoung other things at great prices! The entrence fee is 100 Kc and a bear is 29 Kc.

6 years ago Boriana Ivanova: it is necessary to add to this place:

Great place to visit for sports, for a walk, picnic or just sunbathing. There are restaurants around and different alleyways for short or longer walk around the lake. There two parkings. One of the entrances is really close to the last stop of tram 20 and the other to the green metro line Nádraží Veleslavín.

The beach got ruined by the wakeboard club but still enjoying

1 year ago Samuel Antonovdescribed this experience as follows:

I had a nice swim, but there are no lockers so when you’re there alone, you are scared, that someone will steal your things. Water isn’t really that clean but I didn’t find that worrying.

5 years ago Alison Maciejewski Cortez- why does he think this place is on the list?

Great tour. Eliška was a friendly + informative guide. Walk around in the old sewer system + see turn-of-the-century machinery. Pricey for a museum English tour but worth it. Take the boat ride for extra 50 Kč. Of course there is a pub on site.

1 year ago Tichomir Toth- why does he think this place is on the list?

A nice place with the possibility of visiting the underground part of the old sewage treatment plant. Tours also in English.

Ancient, technically and architectonically amazing, recommended for longer Prague visits. Kids are entertained about 20 minutes, then it is a little mono for them. 1 hour total. Worth of paying extra for boat.

What our travelers says:

1 year ago Akhil Kwrote only this about this place:

Letohrádek Hvezda is a Renaissance villa in Prague in the Czech Republic. It is situated in the game reserve of the same name in the Liboc district of Prague 6, about 7 km west of Prague city centre. The surrounding game reserve was founded in 1530 by King Ferdinand I. Twenty-five years later he commissioned his younger son Ferdinand Il, Archduke of Austria, to build the villa. There is good maintained garden for walking and relaxing . You can find a small cafe near the entrance. This place is recommend to visit in autumn. Calm and quiet place.

1 year ago Branka Mackovawhat can I say about this place?

Beautiful park - perfect for a nice stroll or for walking your dog. Clean and very open, ideal for picnics as well.

1 year ago Grand supe (Shimon Spivak)- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

Have camed here to see how the Hvězda Léto Hrádek looks like when it is snowing and it was amazing, the roof was white and I also was amazed when they turn on the lights so the snow in the roof melted and this was very satisfied, I would come here next time when it is snowing. Didn't come in because it was late but the building looks amazing!

2 years ago HERM PAZsaid the following about this gem:

Beautiful, unique historic building, easily reachable by public transportation. Interesting temporary exhibitions, as well as about the Pavillion history.

1 year ago A Aevaluates this place as follows:

The Star Summer Pavilion, Prague, Muzeum of Literature, Saturda, 23 July 2022, 2130🌟⭐🌟The Game Reserve on White Mountain was founded by Emperor Ferdinand I (1534). A two-floor central building designed by Archduke Ferdinand of Tyrol (1529-1595), the Governor of Prague (1547-1567), in a six-pointed star shape was built as a hunting summer palace between 1555 and 1556. The construction of the Star Summer Palace was first supervised by master builders G.M. Aostalli and G. Lucchese, and thereafter by B. Wohlmut. The stucco decoration of vaults on the ground floor date from 1556 to 1560, and is the first to ever appear in transalpine countries. The first half of the 18th century witnessed the Palace damaged by military troops camping in the Game Reserve. As decreed by Emperor Joseph I, the Star Summer Palace was used as a storage house for ammunition from 1785 to 1874 when it closed down. The estate boasts salla terena built in 1558, one of the oldest ballrooms in Bohemia (designed by B. Wohlmut). It was used in the 18th and the 19th centuries as a stable, but only a small part of that building has been preserved. Following the establishment of Czechoslovakia in 1918, the Star Summer Palace was delivered in trust to Prague Castle. First, it underwent a radical reconstruction between 1948 and 1952 under Architect Pavel Janák’s direction to house a permanent exhibition, which had been held in the Alois Jirásek Museum. Next, it was restored in stages between 1986 and 2000. Opening this Renaissance architectural and historical monument of extraordinary quality to a wide range of visitors from the Czech Republic and from abroad was the main project of the MCL within the programme ‘Prague 2000-European City of Culture’. The Star Summer Palace re-opened on May 25th, 2000 with a long-term permanent exhibition entitled ‘History and the Present’. The Palace houses temporary exhibitions devoted to famous figures of classical and modern Czech literature; it is also a popular venue for events, concerts, conferences and social events.

5. place - Museum of Public Transport

Museum of Public Transport
Definitely deserves 9.2/10!. This place was visited and rated 1889-times

What our travelers says:

1 year ago Charlie Hornewrote only this for this place:

Very cool place with a lot to see. Like others have said the information boards are in Czech so be prepared to translate those if you’re interested. They have a free audio book if you have your phone and your headphones on you. And I was handed a little booklet in English that informs you on each of the trams and when they were in operation. I spent about an hour just nosing around the trams reading the booklet, however you could definitely spend a lot more time hear reading if you’re interested! The historic tram route 41 sets off from here so it’s a perfect opportunity to learn about the public transport in the beautiful city and then ride around in one! Tickets can be bought from the ticket office at the entrance. They were very helpful and spoke good English.

1 year ago Tomas Palider (DJTommek)wrote only this about this place:

Very interesting museum related to public transport in Prague, including already forgotten places like Letna cablecar. Interesting to see history, how Prague evolved during all these years.

1 year ago Sarah Mak: it is necessary to add to this place:

A cute, and old museum. The presentation is not modern or snazzy, and since the captions are in Czech, you need to whip out Google Translate if you don’t understand the language. The captions aren’t very interesting to me, since they are mostly about the technical history of the public transport, which I’m not very interested in. There was a video playing, but the audio was in Czech, and there were no English subtitles. I really liked walking among these technical marvels though—I think Prague’s trams are very cute. I spent one hour here, but you can spend more time here if you read all the captions. To enter, you need to open the door to the entrance. I almost thought that the museum was closed since the door was small, and not opened.

1 year ago Ringaile Radojevic Miliauskaitehow did he rate it?

Lovely small museum with exposition dedicated to Prague tram history. Open during the weekends only

1 year ago Eros Figueiredo: it is necessary to add to this place:

Really liked the museum specially the store where you can buy souvenirs.

4. place - Great Strahov Stadium

Great Strahov Stadium
Numerically, he has the 7.8/10!. This place was visited and rated 3965-times

What our travelers says:

1 year ago Jonah VXevaluates this place as follows:

It’s a ruin now and they don’t take care for it. That’s a shame, because it’s a monument of the grandeur of the past of the Sparkadiada’s. They are from the pre-communist time originally and belong to Czech culture. Save the stadium and make it accessible for the people!

1 year ago Muhammed Arshad Tdescribed this experience as follows:

an impressive sports venue known for its immense size and historic significance. Built in the 1920s, it can hold an astonishing number of spectators, making it one of the largest stadiums in the world. While it's not commonly used for sporting events today, it's worth visiting to appreciate its grandeur and to take in panoramic views of Prague from the stadium's terraces. It's a unique piece of architectural and sporting history in the heart of the city.

1 year ago Mustafa Koçexplained best how he liked it:

A magnificient monument of the near history which is completely ignored. Tourist information desk even didnt recommend us visiting there. However, in my opinion, this place should be promoted after a significant restoration.

5 years ago Carlos Munozwhat can I say about this place?

Incredibly big stadium. I was able to visit the place during OpenHousePraha 2019 and it is Huge, 9 soccer fields inside. Many rock bands have played there before. The visit is really worth it. If you are able to get in you will have a very nice view (depending on which side of the stadium you are). You will need to find if its opened to the public.

1 year ago Andrew Cairnswrote only this for this place:

When we visited the stadium was open (signs clearly marked this) and there were youth tea games happening on the pitches. The stadium is stunning despite its age - don't go expecting modern conveniences, it is what it is.

Břevnov Monastery
We rate 9.4/10!. This place was visited and rated 4223-times

What our travelers says:

1 year ago Indy Villagarciaexplained best how he liked it:

Beautiful grounds with an inviting beer garden. There are 2 places facing each other. The Benedictine brewery has over 10 picnic tables and a large selection on tap. Also, large indoor rooms. The other place is a gastro-pub with 5 taps. I used Uber to arrive. It worked best instead of an hour hike from Old Town. Nice break from crowds, a hidden spot for mostly locals. This visit is not for people staying for a short-time or Prague first-timers because you need to tackle so much in town first.

1 year ago Hugo Santestebandescribed this experience as follows:

Good place to visit. The place is only opened during weekends and tour is only in local language. After the tour, we drunk local beer made in place …. Good beer

my favourite place to go exercise for free, you can run, you can go to the outdoor gym, you can walk/hike, you can ride your bike or you can ride your scooter. this pace is also great for kids, you have many playgrounds, a trampoline park, a bar with snacks and meals and toilets. parking isn’t very good because there aren’t many places to park. you can also rent many different vehicles. one of my favourite things about this park is the picnic area, you have grills, picnic tables etc.

2 years ago Katerina Skokanwrote only this about this place:

Nice walk, long walk around, any age. Interesting pieces of art around, jumping for children, playing in the sand, relax. Paying 100 Kc per person to enter the jumping playground. Otherwise u will pay 1000kc. Possible to pay by credit card. Definitely we enjoyed ourselves a lot! Enjoy yourself ;)! There is a shop with roller skates very close. You can rent them as well. Ice coffee is not as tasty as at other places, would not buy it again.
