Santa’s Post Office in Rovaniemi is pure magic for visitors of all ages. Nestled right at the heart of Santa Claus Village, this enchanting little post office lets you step into the wonder of Christmas any time of year. Upon entering, you’re greeted by warm, festive decor and walls lined with colorful postcards and letters from around the world. The friendly “elves” behind the counter add a special touch, eagerly assisting visitors and sharing fun stories about Santa’s year-round work. One of the best parts is the chance to send postcards stamped with Santa’s official Arctic Circle postmark. They even offer an option to send Christmas cards that will arrive just before the holiday season, making it a wonderful way to surprise friends and family. The shop also has a selection of unique holiday souvenirs and charming Lappish gifts to take home.

A must do! Here you see all the letters received around the world to Santa. You get to buy your cards and mail them to loved ones from the Artic Circle. My husband and I even wrote each other postcards and mailed them to each other. We will receive them around Christmas Day.

What our travelers says:

11 months ago Munniwrote only this for this place:

Snow was very soft. But that was the end of the season and a warm day (14°c!!). The slopes are fun. Was expecting less. Had a nice day! Keep in mind one side of the area opens at 1pm. Will come back for sure

1 year ago Viky G: it is necessary to add to this place:

Nice place, not super difficult and short (compared to alps) slopes. A lot of trees and snow. Full day skiing with gear for two is 200€

1 year ago J Asaid the following about this gem:

This is a hill just outside Rovamieni town centre. It is great for beginners. The ski rental and lesson personal ski lesson were good. In late January the snow was powdery and perfect for a beginner and it wasn’t too busy. There were quite a few snowboarders. The hotel at the top of the lifts is fantastic with a highly regarded Lappish restaurant. There is a cafe next to the ski hire shop. You can email the ski hire shop before you arrive to book and pay for private lessons. I will go back one day.

1 year ago Sabrina Marinadescribed this experience as follows:

Well maintained slopes and very easy to buy tickets and rent gear. However, it‘s a bit pricey for only 3 slopes and one lift open…

2 years ago Alin Andreiwrote only this for this place:

That is a lovely ski resort close to Rovaniemi,we’ve walked there,it takes around 30 min and the view is lovely. The ski slopes are for beginners and more advanced skiers and we took our 7 years old daughter to the beginner ones and she learned how to ski in just one day. I recommended to book in advance a ski monitor if you want to learn properly because they are quite busy even though the ski slopes are not that busy, we’ve been the week before Christmas. There’s a restaurant also where you can have a break and eat and drink something. Highly recommended.

8. place gets Culture House Korundi

Culture House Korundi
We rate 8.8/10!. This place was visited and rated 1083-times

What our travelers says:

4 months ago janja turksaid the following about this gem:

I enjoyed the exhibition. It was Art Thursday and after 4pm the entrance was free. The lady at the reception said that they had a chamber music concert at 6pm (entrance fee 11€). I was happy about this info. The concert was great!

6 months ago Josephine Ong: it is necessary to add to this place:

I am not a fan of art, however some things are interesting. You see that artists see things differently from others. What's mundane is a gem to them. For instance the different flowers the artist use to create dresses. Then another artists see books as exercise tools.

9 months ago Simon Roundwrote only this for this place:

This is a small modern art gallery with a collection of different pieces. It was a short visit but we got the cultural ticket for 3 different museums, so this was effectively free.

4 months ago Lious Johnhow did he rate it?

The museum is worth a visit if you're into paintings and all things artsy. Families with kids might find it a bit lacking, though. The cultural pass we bought gives you access to spots like the Korundi House of Culture, Arktikum Museum, and Pilke Museum

1 year ago Eduardo Escalerahow did he rate it?

We got to see a great exhibition from a Finnish painter, Reidar Särestöniemi. I really enjoyed it. There are also workshops and one of the coolest places to take souvenirs in Rovaniemi.

We rate 9.8/10!. This place was visited and rated 1428-times

What our travelers says:

3 months ago She Ganzonwrote only this about this place:

BookLapland turned my dream trip into Lapland into an unforgettable reality. From the moment I booked, their team (Ali and Jorge) made everything effortless, warm, and incredibly personal. Every detail was taken care of with genuine care—transfers were smooth, guides were knowledgeable and kind, and every activity felt thoughtfully curated rather than rushed or commercial. The highlight was our Northern Lights adventure. The sky opened in the most spectacular display of green lights. Ali helped us take beautiful photos, told stories about the Arctic, and made the whole night feel magical. What I loved most about BookLapland is that they don’t just “run tours”—they create memories you’ll treasure forever. Their passion for Lapland, for nature, and for making travellers happy shines through in everything they do. If you’re looking for a company that goes the extra mile (literally!), treats you like a friend, and delivers once-in-a-lifetime experiences, BookLapland is the one. This trip wasn’t just a vacation—it became one of the happiest chapters of my life. ❄️✨ Highly, highly recommended.

Words can't describe what I feel. This is just... wow. The lights, they're so beautiful. So beautiful. I'm so grateful, so thankful that we got to experience this. It's like my heart is full. I'm so happy, I can't even find the right words to thank you. This is something I've always wanted to see, and it's even more amazing than I imagined. The way the colors dance across the sky, it's like God's painting, right before our eyes. I'm so grateful to have shared this with my loved ones. Thank you, Booklapland, for making this happen. You've given me a gift I'll never forget. I'm so grateful for this experience. It's especially meaningful to me as it's a gift paid for by my children who knew how much I yearned to experience this! It means everything to me, Please feel free to adjust or modify as you see fit 😊

5. place belongs to Arktikum

Arktikum

What our travelers says:

4 months ago Nick and Suehow did he rate it?

We had a good few hours here & learnt a lot about Finlands history & interesting Arctic exhibits. I also recommend this area as a good spot to see the Aurora if the conditions are good. Walk down to the lakes edge & although there is light pollution we still saw some great Aurora activity.

4 months ago Aimee Cebulskiwrote only this for this place:

Fantastic museum filled with information on the Arctic environment, history of Finland, Sami culture and much more. It is packed with exhibits allow at least 2 hours. Very nice selection at gift shop and cafe and also attached arboretum.

10 months ago How it is Liz: it is necessary to add to this place:

Arktikum Museum is a wonderful place to learn about the history of Finland. There’s much to see and learn about their customs, way of life, animals, landscapes, fascinating insights into the Northern Lights, and so much more! The exhibits are laid out well, and I really enjoyed the visual displays that brought the stories to life! We had a guide who was very nice, though unfortunately, she was very difficult to understand at times. She gave a good effort, but I preferred wandering on my own. Still, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. It’s a great place to spend a day, especially if you’re interested in Arctic nature and culture. There’s a café and restrooms available, and tickets can be conveniently purchased on site. It's definitely worth a stop in!

8 months ago Natalie limexplained best how he liked it:

Artikum is full of information! My family and I learnt so much about Finland when we visited it. We spent 4 hours absorbing as much information as we could. It has some interactive sections which was fun. The building is beautiful with its high glass ceiling, clean interior and it also houses Artikum Cafe which served pretty decent food. Note: We visited in March 2025, but I forgot to put in the review until now.

9 months ago Heather Pdescribed this experience as follows:

I was looking for something to fill up our last day in Rovaniemi and fortunately saw this museum. We spent a few hours in two exhibits. The science area had so many hands on things to do. I had to drag my preteen out because we were running out of times it was such a great time, and I liked how they blended culture, geography, science and more into a seamless Arctic exhibit. Then we went to the more historical exhibit and my son was less in. No big deal… we had spent so much time in the science area 🤷‍♀️ I highly recommend this museum! We even tried to build an igloo

3. place gets Santa Claus Office

Santa Claus Office
Definitely deserves 8.8/10!. This place was visited and rated 4429-times

What our travelers says:

3 months ago Karen Butler- in short, this experience can be described as follows:

We had a really special visit to Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi with our two kids (8 and 9). We went twice—once on a Thursday and again on Sunday in late November. Thursday was definitely the quieter day, but no matter whether it was light or dark, the whole place felt magical. We did the husky ride, which cost €220 for the four of us for about 15 minutes. We booked it through Bearhill in advance, and it was absolutely worth it—such a lovely experience. We also tried the reindeer ride. It was €100 for a short 400-meter loop. It was fine, but there was quite a long wait for something so quick, and you definitely don’t need to book that one ahead. Meeting Santa was the big highlight. Even though we had booked, there was still about a 40-minute wait, but the line moved through a corridor filled with little details the kids really enjoyed. They loved peeking through keyholes and “spying” on elves at work. Santa himself was wonderful—gentle, warm, and incredibly authentic. There were a lot of adults in the queue ahead of us, but when it was our turn, he genuinely lit up seeing the kids. You can choose between buying the video and digital photo or just the printed picture. The whole place is full of great photo spots, and it ended up being a really memorable experience for our children.

4 months ago Mrexplained best how he liked it:

This is where you will find the REAL SANTA. This is the Santa that world leaders have pictures with. This building is between the Marimekko, Pentik, and Iittalla buildings. There is another Santa in a building nearby, who is the second Santa 😅 But I don't know why they are allowed to call themselves the official Santa. The elves here are really nice and welcoming. The digital package with your photos and video costs 55 Euros. You can just go and meet the Santa, talk to him, etc. Then when you exit, you may choose to buy the photos or skip it to save your money. The choice is yours. Our photos and videos were really nice and the photographer was also very patient and made sure that we got good photos. Highly recommended if you want a picture with the real Santa.

4 months ago Carl Groombridgewrote only this for this place:

The Real Santa..... brilliant! Quite a qué but great themed rooms as you approach the big man in red. 🎅. Photos and video digital and printed at 90Euros for the package.

7 months ago Karen Graham- why does he think this place is on the list?

We visited the Santa Claus Office in the summer, with temperatures into the low 30s, and unfortunately left disappointed. Aside from a few overpriced souvenir shops and cafes, there wasn’t much to see. We genuinely wanted to enjoy the experience, but it felt like a major money grab. Charging €40 for a single photo with Santa, plus an extra €55 for digital downloads, is excessive. The visit itself was rushed — less than five minutes — and Santa didn’t even ask what we wanted for Christmas. The facilities also looked tired and in need of maintenance. Sadly, the magic just wasn’t there.

4 months ago Alberto Troiaexplained best how he liked it:

Unhappy... they proposed the digital package for 55eur. Then they claimed that there was additional photos for additional 25 eur... we accepted believing that there were 3 or 4 photos, at the end it was only 1... so overall, 4 pictures + the whole video was 55 eur. A photo more 25 eur... when asked to reimburse they refused. Strong recommendation: check for the details to avoid what happened.

2. place - Santa Claus Village

Santa Claus Village
We rate the place at 8.4/10!. This place was visited and rated 31106-times

What our travelers says:

3 months ago Jonson Liexplained best how he liked it:

We flew from Tromsø to Rovaniemi specifically to visit Santa Claus Village, and it was absolutely worth the trip. The place truly feels like a winter wonderland—blanketed in deep snow with moments of complete whiteout. The complex itself is quite large, and with temperatures dropping to –19°C (–2°F), wearing plenty of warm layers is essential. Feeding the reindeer was a unique and memorable experience as well. Highly recommended!

3 months ago Cathriona Walshdescribed this experience as follows:

Very touristy and overpriced, and actually not much to do. We had booked a tour previously and therefore had already done the snowmobiling, the reindeer and husky sledding so after that there isn’t much. We spent the time going to see Santa (one hour queue), eating a very expensive lunch and then browsing the stores. The Snowman Village with ice skating was still closed on 5th December so that doesn’t leave you wing much else. The post office where you can send postcards to arrive next year was nice and the lights at nighttime are also lovely. It would be nice if there was more to do in the village itself!

3 months ago Serter Yavuzwrote only this about this place:

Santa Claus Village is a must-visit in Rovaniemi, offering a magical atmosphere and unique experiences. You can meet Santa, feed the reindeer, and even send postcards from the official Santa Claus Post Office. Off-season might be the best time of the year. Nice and quiet with almost no queue for a picture with Santa. Both my senior dogs met Santa and got a picture with him 🐾🐾🐕🐕🐾🐾 You still get the night lights and Christmas vibes without the crowd.
